“beautiful cottage”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2013

We had a fabulous week at your cottage, what a beautiful view to wake up to every morning. Their was everything there that we needed to make it a home away from home vacation. We would recommend this cottage to anyone. Our only issue we had was that it states it is in Lions Head and not in Dyers Bay that extra 15 -20 mins of travelling each way really adds up on day trips..it wasn't a huge deal at all , but going into it we though we would be near the lil town village of Lions Head & that wasnt the case.We rent a new cottage every year, can't wait for the next adventure.

“More Splendid days on Georgian Bay!”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2012

We have stayed on the Bruce Peninsula many times and are never disappointed with the views, rental homes and experiences. Had a fabulous time hiking the Bruce Trail, shopping in Tobermory and a new experience- wading at Singing Sands. That was the best! Rental home was just right- convenient, kitchen was well stocked with all the gadgets I needed and homey. We feel comfortable reading, cooking and enjoying the cottage life. We can't wait to book again!

“Great time had by all on beautiful Georgian Bay”

Reviewed 20 Oct 2011

Though this cottage didn't have major curb appeal, once you entered the front door, you were in a different world. Beautiful decor, gorgeous bay view, serenity on the back deck and every comfort of home (and then some!) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Luce in Dyer's Bay. We were blessed with great weather for most of our 2 week vacation. We'd start the mornings with a quick polar dip in the lake in the early mornings, then hubby would take a drive (we rented a benz and driving was a thrill for us having been cooped up in tiny Bermuda) out to the nearest service station (miles away) to buy us a cup of coffee (really good coffee and friendly service!)This was our choice - the cottage has a coffee maker. Meanwhile I'd whip up breakfast for the kids in the amazingly well-appointed kitchen. Then breakfast on the back porch listening to the loons and planning out our day. Dyer's Bay is central to some really good hiking and exploring adventures - Devil's Monument, Bruce park (I'd recommend the half log dump trail), singing sands to name a few. You can also walk up the road about 10 minutes to connect to the bruce trail. My kids (9 and 3) also loved the Monday night Dyer's Bay story barn experience (just a few cottages up) and campfires on the stone beach. The only negative thing I have to say pertains to our experience with rentcottage.com. They were unfriendly to deal with, lots of red tape, and a big contract with lots of unrealistic rules and fine print. If I could have rented Villa Luce another way, I would have. But they were clearly protective of their owners, so there's another side of every story I guess.

“Ideal Cottage for older Family Reunion”

Reviewed 1 Sep 2009

We were 4,@ seniors and their middle aged daughter and son in law from UK. My wife and daughter loved the house, layout, conveniences supplied, kitchen, large bright bedrooms, and comfortable living spaces. We had a good experience with the agents and the added cleaning service was a bonus.Good location for a sit around age group, convnient to the Bruce attractions and the Ferry to Manitoulin. The beach did not stop us from 'swimming' in the unusually cold Georgian Bay water, and had a good time in the canoe. I would have liked information re boat rental or charter fishing. The neighbours were friendly and the restaurant at the Dock was a bonus. In all we had a great week,in near perfect lodgings in a beautiful area.

“Too many seller protections with extra cost to rentor.”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2009

Due to a health problem, we were unable to stay at the cottage so I cannot review the cottage or the location. Canadian friends of ours based on my descrition of the cottage and surr0undings did go and look at the cottage and the location and they rated both very highly, In fact, they intend to rent the cottage next year. I wish to commend the RentCottage staff who dealt with me by phone and letter. From my first phone call they treated me very professioinally and in a friendly and cordial manner. They worked very hard helping me find this cottage but remained pleasant rhroughout the search. They always were available and answered every question I raised to my full satisfaction. I have this strong negative comment to make. I have rented cottages, homes, time-shares, etc. around the world including in Nova Scotia and Northeastern Maine. Never before have I been presented with contracts, agreements and other formal documents that were as detailed, elaborate and extensive as were invovled in the renting of this cottage. I never before at any location had to pay insurance as a specific add-on item designed to protect the owners and RentCottage against possible accidents and damage. Twice I almost terminated the renting of this cottage because of the extensive protection being afforded the owners and RentCottage with no protection for me. RentCottage either must have very unreliable and accident prone rentors or legal counsel went way overboard in a "belt and suspenders" approach. While in Canada I opened a charge acount and obtained oxygen services from a health products provider. Neither had 10% of the protection for the companies that my contract had. In the United States I have bought numerous cars and received various loans - none of them required this much paperwork and seller protection. I note that when my wife bcame ill and we had to terminate our Canadiuan visit, the extra money beyound rent that I paid and the contracts did provide me with a refund.

“Wonderful Place - Amazing Views”

Reviewed 8 Feb 2009

We really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful place. It's such a beautiful cottage. We especially liked the amazing waterfront view from the porch or from the front window while having breakfast. The interior of the cottage is very comfortable and tasteful, and it has a well-equipped kitchen. We also liked the fire pit, the canoe, sitting on the beach and swimming in the clear water of the great Georgian Bay. This was the nicest place we've ever been to during our holidays and we'll surely come back soon.

“Bruce Peninsula: Beautiful cottage on lovely Dyers Bay”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2009

This is a beautiful cottage home with three very comfortable bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and laundry room and lots of space for a family of four. Dyers Bay is a beautiful location on the Bruce Peninsula and we have spent many happy family vacations in the area. The beach is rocky and the waters of Georgian Bay are cold, but very clean and beautiful. Some very scenic but rugged sections of the Bruce trail are located a short hike away from this cottage (watch out for the poison ivy) and it is also very close to Larkwhistle Gardens. The village of Tobermory with its wonderful Sweet Shop is only a 20 minute drive away as are two National Parks (Fathom Five Marine Park and Bruce Peninsula National Park). The cottage offers a linen service and a cleaning service for an extra fee and I do recommend this as it makes the end of your holiday so relaxing. This is a great cottage in a wonderful cottage community. I highly recommend it!

“Spectacular in every way”

Fabulous cottage and location. Cottage is extremely clean and exceptionally well equipped. The beach is spectacular. Very close to hiking trails. We didn't want to leave! We would rent this cottage again in a heartbeat.

“lovely cottage”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2009

Lovely property in a wonderful very quiet location. Water was pristine but soooo cold , even on a warm July day. Not swimable. Kitchen , family room and bathroom wonderful, but found the carpet in the bedrooms musty and in need of replacement. Not an outdoors kind of girl but would recommend non the less.
