“Very pleased with this lovely house!”
My wife and I motorcycled here from upstate New York and were very pleased with this lovely house! The view is wonderful, with trees blocking almost any sense that there are other homes in the bay. The cottage was clean, bright and roomy - everything we needed was there, including a nice gas grill. Hiking on the Bruce Trail was nearby and the trip out to Flowerpot Island to explore was fantastic. Our only negative comment is that the hot water was too hot!
“Beautiful Natural Setting”
Lovely cottage, clean neat and in good repair. Beautiful setting, untouched, great view of the lake. If you like swimming you need water socks but there are some beautiful beaches close by if you don't like swimming on rocky beaches. We love the Bruce Penninsula there are so many things to see and do. Lovely large deck for Bbqing and star gazing. The only thing negative I can say is the bed in the second BR had saggy springs and the mattress wasn't great. Everything else was great, we had a wonderful time and would come back again! Thanks for a wonderful time
“Great, but a few little issues”
The good We really enjoyed the cottage location, and the deck was beautiful. The area was safe for our dog, and the neighbours were quiet. The Bad One of the bedrooms had a mouldy carpet, which smelled bad, so we switched to another room. Also, there was a broken electrical receptacle in that room which zapped our dog when he walked by.
“A memorable family get-a-way”
the cottage was very serviceable, quite neat and tidy and had most things one might need. lots of typical good old cottage stuff around. for our family it was a beautiful refuge and very private in the fall. one of the best memories was having the kayaks. a real pleasure for all of us. we are extremely busy people and needed this remote get-a-way to refresh ourselves and enjoy being with our two young adult kids. and our lovely elderly dog was able to come and enjoy himself, though with his bad hips we had to carry him (110 lbs) up and down the stairs. so anyone with mobility problems could not manage these stairs. however, we would go back. too bad limit on persons - we would have had our daughter's boyfriend and my sister and husband up but that put us over the limit - even though we are a very gentle, quiet group.
“Great Dog Friendly Cottage!”
Great cottage near Tobermory! Very clean, warm(it was Oct.) and cozy. Everything we needed in the kitchen or to entertain us was available. Beds are very comfortable, and firm. Great view of Lake Huron from the back of the cottage, and privacy from the road and other cottages. Very dog friendly and easy to clean at the end of our stay. We were there in Oct. so did not swim, but the beach was nice to walk on, although not really for lounging etc, like most areas on the Bruce. We had a couple of campfires as well. Short drive to Tobermory to pick up groceries and shop. Close to many trails and parks, so you can check out the whole penninsula. We go to the Bruce every year, and are planning on visiting the Waterfront Chalet again this spring.
We spent a wonderful week at this waterfront cottage. This is a very beautiful place to visit. Lots of things to see, close by. The view and color of the water is so beautiful. This was the first time that we stayed in a vacation rental home and it was perfect. The cottage was well equipped for our comfort and activities. Even if it rained, there were games, puzzles and DVD's . We enjoyed all the birds and squirrels around. They where very friendly. We would have our cafe outside in the morning with them. Also, the key being in a locked box on the door is very accommodating. Everything was in order when we arrived, and we were pleased to see that the pictures viewed online matched the real thing. We definitely recommend this cottage - with or without kids. It is a very relaxing and calm place. All the information that was given to us prior our arrival was accurate. We had a great vacation. Thank you.
