“Relaxing getaway”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2013

Steading holidays were very helpful and accommodating. The Lodge was comfortable and well equipped but would probably be a bit chilly on a winter evening. The area, Kilchoan, Ardnamurchan and Mull is wonderful but don't expect supermarkets or night-clubs. The scenery is glorious, no traffic noise, birdsong and so many stars on a clear night. The only bad thing was the final hour and a half driving on single track roads, even that would have been quite nice if it hadn't come at the end of a 400 mile drive from southern England.

“Good views (decoration and window views to the sea)”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2013

The cottage is nicely decorated and well equipped by furniture and appliances. It was reasonably clean. There are beautiful views to the sea, especially from the 1st floor balcony. Expect more than 30 km single track road to reach the village. You are expected to pay your electricity bill at check out.

“We had a wonderful, restful stay”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2013

We really liked the house and Jacqui and John were fantastic. We found using the electricity meter a bit confusing, it would have been handy if someone else had taken the initial measurement. It was pouring with rain when we arrived and we were too tired to wander about the outside of the house looking for the meter in the rain. But that is our only complaint really. Jacqui and John helped us with information, maps and tips and were really nice. It is a lovely area for walks and the weather gods smiled on us. There is a hotel nearby and little shop as well as a community café with Internet access. The ferry to Tobermory is close by. We got to Kilchoan by bus and got about on foot and it was no problem at all. The house was well-equipped and not overlooked. Lovely big garden and nice walks up into the hills behind. A great, restful stay. Thank you!
