“Awesome View! Spacious Condo”
The check-in/reservation process was super easy. The clerk was friendly and knowlegeable about the area, offering coupons, flyers, etc. Parking at the condo was covered and convenient to the elevator. Handicapped parking was extremely limited though, only open one day during our stay. The condo is a nice size for a larger group. The balcony offers a nice view, the furniture could be a bit more comfy (take a cushion out to sit on!). The pool area was smaller than expected, with the gates into the pool and onto the beach banging constantly while trying to talk, listen to music or catch a few zzz's. All in all, it was an average stay at Okaloosa Island. You don't go there to stay inside all the time anyway! :-)
Covered parking close by, elevator access almost right next to the front door, and roomy accomodations all made for a stress free vacation. A big plus was the fact that we tried a number of restaurants in the area and every one of them was top notch. The refund of security deposit almost beat us home. Enjoyed dealing with Legacy.
“Great view and beach access”
We had a great time at Island Princess #301. The view was amazing, and the beach access was super convenient. This was a large condo that met all of our needs. The unit was clean, and Sally at Legacy was very helpful with our late check in. This will be our first choice for a place to stay when we come back to Destin.
“We had a lovely experience.”
The purpose of this trip was to spend some quality time with our grandson who is two. The amenities and property were very condusive to this experience. Our whole family loved the place.
The condo was very clean with many new updates. Loved the new carpet. Awesome views and sounds of the ocean. We will rent this condo again.
“Very nice and clean condo at a great value”
We decided to go to the beach at the last minute for spring break, so we were in a mad rush to find a suitable condo at a reasonable price. The owner responsed quickly to my emails and phone calls and facilitated the rental with ease. The property and location are among our favorites.
“A wonderful location & condo where we were able to relax & rejuv”
Arrived Jan 29, had to leave Mar 15, 2012. The condo, that underwent some renovations just before our arrival, was great. The location on Okaloosa Island is marvelous. Being a beach front property is heaven!!The heated pool and hot tub were very nice. The complex is very well kept. The carpeted bedroom and living area are much nicer than other units that are entirely tiled. The service was also super - we had one minor issue with the garbage disposal and the repair person was there in no time with a fix!!! (Thanks, Sally) The new light fixtures in the bathrooms are a nice addition, too, but I would advise using lower wattage bulbs; the bulbs in use were way too hot. So, we just unscrewed some of them and still had plenty of good lighting. The amenities at IP added to our enjoyment. In fact, a brother and sister-in-law visited us for about 9 days and were so enthralled, they are now looking for a 3 bedroom unit at IP for a month next year (we know this one is already rented). Sally is great - very pleasant, with an attitude that says "I am here to help in any way I can." What we liked best are those things listed above. The one thing we liked least was that the living area sofas were not very comfortable for sitting.
“What a great place!”
Wa thoroughly pleased with the layout and location of this cond. Did have some concerns with the quality of the coffeepot (baseplate rusted and obvious lack of recycling, but these were minor incidences. Some maintenance was needed by the owner, but the condo was everything that it was advertised. Staff were courteous and checkin was simple and pleasant.
This condo suited us very well. Our only comment is that whomever cleans the place following renters needs to check under and around furniture to get water bottles, trash, tissues, etc. that previous occupants have left behind, and check that kitchen utensils have put away clean. Plus, several light bulbs were burned out and missing. Very dangerous with kids!
“Not a vacation...a housekeeping job!”
Nice condo location, however upon entering my family, myself and grandmothers were welcomed by the smell of dead fish or a trapped skunk! Doors were sticky with food, kitchen had old coffee in the coffee maker, the bathrooms had shower and toilet yuck on the shower walls and toilet lid. My husband and I bought Clorox cleaning products to get the place acceptable. I spoke to the Legacy Vacations rep. She said she inspected the room after the cleaning crew spent 3hrs in it. She also said, "I must be blind, I didn't look at the shower walls" in response to my comment of how I had to clean someone's filth off before I could put my soap dish in the shower. She will need training in customer service. I have three adult witnesses to attest to the lack of cleanliness of this particular condo. The surprise to me was that I was still charged a cleaning fee of $98 (all of our towels were washed and folded upon departure, not because it was required, it was done as a simple courtesy). Courtesy was really all we expected from this company. It appears the only courteous individual was the actual owner who apologized for the condition of the condo and offered some sort of deal for our next stay. This was our first vacation in 3 yrs, it will be quite some time before we have the time off to travel again. The simple, expeditious and professional courtesy from Legacy Vacations should have been to not charge the $98 cleaning fee, especially since it was "I" who cleaned the place! My recommendation is that a refund for $98 should be forwarded asap. This action would clearly show customer service exists with Legacy Vacations.
Response from the manager Legacy Vacations holds every guest experience with the highest regard, even when the guest isn’t ours. Each of our managed condominiums are individually owned and in this particular case Mrs. Torres-Sisko was a guest of the owner directly and did not book her stay through Legacy Vacations. The representative Mrs. Torres-Sisko spoke to was actually from the owners private cleaning service and was not a representative of Legacy Vacations. We take great pride in customer service and the interaction Mrs. Torres-Sisko had with the owners private cleaning service falls well short of the standard we set for ourselves.
