“Welcoming atmosphere and feeling at home”
I found Beit Oren in the internet. Due to its appealing homepage I decided to ask to live there and contacted Leah per Mail. The reservation as well as the check-in was uncomplicated. Leah and her husband welcomed me in a warm and familiar atmosphere. I felt at home in quite a second. The apartment is spacious, very suitable also for longer stays in Jerusalem. It is fully equipped with all you need, in high and clean standards. The closet gives you plenty of room for your clothes. Leah pays attention to wonderful details like flowers in the apartment and welcoming cookies. The green and quite garden gives you the perfect atmosphere to relax. The apartment is located near Yehuda Street, a five minute walk brings you to the next bus line, which brings you in about 20 min to the city center.
“pleasant stay at Beit Oren”
We had a pleasant stay in the lovely guesthouse Beit Oren. The garden was a restful, green place and we enjoy staying there. In the house it was pretty cool. It is cosy equipped, with enough ventilation through the whole day. Leah and Yonatan are friendly and helpful. So, we felt like being home.
“What a wonderful place!!”
Imagine a private apartment in the semi-basement of an old white Jerusalem-stone mansion (with a separate entrance), located in a small, quite street in 5-minute-walking distance to Emek Refaim and the German Colony, surrounded by an almost exotic garden with various seating areas in the shade of huge carob trees (at least I think so!), bougeinvilleas and fig trees. Imagine the hosts to be really welcoming and helpful. Imagine the apartment to be fully equipped and furnished with a sense for a cosy and even artistic atmosphere... that's what Beit Oren was like when I stayed there for two weeks in august. Because it is in the basement, the apartment keeps nicely cool even with 35 degrees Celsius outside. The windows have effective mosquito nets, so you can enjoy a breeze of fresh air while the insects keep 100% outside. - A little drawback was the noisy construction work that was going on right next door (in fact on the roof and in the upper storeys of the other half of the very same building). Literally every afternoon and/or evening a neighbouring drummer/percussionist was rehearsing... maybe somebody famous?!? - Beit Oren is definitely highly recommendable, an excellent choice.
I had a great time at Beit Oren. Lea and her family were very friendly, the location was excellent and having dinner or breakfast in their garden was a delight.
“A peaceful haven to relax after a busy day”
I stayed 6 days at Beit Oren on this my first trip to Israel. Leah and Yonathan were very friendly and helpful and the apartment quiet and comfortable: it was particularly nice to have the use of the garden. The Old City is easily accessible on foot or by bus and the nearby shops and cafes make self catering easy. I would definitely use this apartment again if I come to Jerusalem.
“Feeling at home in Jerusalem”
My husband and I spent the most wonderful week ever! Jerusalem is a dream and this place is near everything. The old city around 30 minutes walk and the main street with cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, stores, etc at 10 minutes away. You feel safe and people were very helpful; we would walk back from the old city at around 1:30am and no worries at all! Leah was extremely welcoming and kind with us; she was very helpful as well. We highly recommend this place and we are definately going back.
I just returned from two weeks in Jerusalem, staying at Beit Oren. This is a wonderful apartment! It is beautiful and well maintained, and the owners are lovely people who are very attentive and helpful. A plus is the lovely garden outside that is perfect for relaxing. It is a very short walk to the neighborhood of Emek Refaim, a slightly longer walk to the Jaffa Gate and the Old City. There is a very nice supermarket about a ten minute walk away and plenty of fine restaurants. I recommend very very highly!!
“A magical treasure in a trendy neighborhood - loved it...”
We don't often stay in Zimmers, but this is a true hidden treasure in the trendiest Jerusalem neighborhood. We felt like we were in a secluded remote private setting, but actually we were less than 2 minutes away from the bustling cafes of Emek Rephaim St. The interior décor is a perfect measure of indulging comfort, and aesthetic feel, with all the necessary amenities. The maintenance was perfect. The real gem was the private and beautiful landscaped garden retreat . And of course, Leah and Yonatan who went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. We will definitely be back...
“Cozy with great hostess!”
Good location in Jerusalem and spotlessly clean. There is a very nice garden which, like the apartment, is a quiet respite from the hustle and bustle of Jerusalem. Leah is a kind and very helpful hostess. Even her husband pitched by doing research to see why our GPS would not take direct routes to where we wanted to travel outside Jerusalem. Be sure to ask Leah to check your GPS to be sure it is set properly.
