“A perfect location for exploring le Luberon”

Reviewed 3 May 2014

We stayed here with a couple of friends for ten wonderful days. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. We walked into Lourmarin for our baquette only once. It was for us a 40 minute walk both ways, but every morning the fresh bread and croissants were wonderful. We hiked a lot of the very well marked trails and explored many of the towns and villages, all of which have markets on different days. We fell in love with Provence when we lived there for a year in the early 1990's and come back as often as we can. We would love to come back to La Jassine sometime, maybe when the Lavender is blooming. Every day more blossoms were appearing on the trees and the countryside is absolutely beautiful. We had a mistral for a couple of days but lit a fire in the fireplace and were quie cosy. Paul and Sandra have a piece of heaven here, lucky them. We hope we will return someday, and in the meantime we cannot recommend this place highly enough.

“Wonderful area In The South Of France”

Reviewed 29 Nov 2013

Our family stayed at La Jassine in November. It was beautiful. The house was great, very Provençal. The weather was surprisingly warm and we had a wonderful time. The view of the Luberon mountains is spectacular. We loved Lourmarin and we had a great day trip to arles. We really liked the fireplace. While November was nice, we can only imagine how nice it would be in the summer months. We are definitely coming back.

“Charming provencal country house with lush garden and olive orch”

Reviewed 4 Nov 2013

This is a beautiful country house completely in Provencal style, lots of light and open doors leading to a big and lush garden. Also situated next to the house is an olive orchard, and it is surrounded by forrest which makes the place very tranquil and quiet. The interior is very carefully and tastefully arranged, we enjoyed a lot the open chimney which makes an evening very cosy. Sandra & Paul are very helpful and provided us with on line help to get internet started and lots of tips regarding the local gastronomy. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, we loved a lot the Luberon mountains and did a lot of hiking. Ver y close to aix, a lot of small villages with everyone its own local market, and arles and St. Remy where van Gogh stayed for 3 years and produced all his wonderful work full of colour and light.

Thank you Sandra for a wonderful time in your beautiful home! We had a great autumn week in La Jassine. This is a very complete and luxurious villa. What we enjoyed very much was opening the volets in the morning to see the Luberon mountains waking up! Really a place to return to.

“A wonderful base to explore the Luberon!”

Reviewed 1 Oct 2012

We stayed at La Jassine for a week at the end of September. The house is well equipped, comfortable and has the added bonus of both a swimming pool and tennis court. La Jassine is just outside the picturesque town of Lourmarin which can be reached in minutes by car or for the more active, you can easily walk the couple of kilometers into town from a path at the end of the property. As La Jassine is outside of an urban area I thoroughly enjoyed the tranquil setting and views of the Luberon mountains.

“Beautiful peaceful, private setting & charming home, close proxi”

Reviewed 6 Jul 2012

La Jassine is well-outfitted and comfortable located in a lovely private, quiet setting surrounded by vinyards and orchards. The Luberon mountains and hiking trails begin at the foot of the driveway, and there are fabulous cycling routes in all directions. There are at least four charming, historic and vibrant French villages within 2-5 km. A little piece of paradise. Enjoy!

“Fabulous villa in the heart of Provence”

Reviewed 21 Jun 2012

This villa is a home away from home and unlike many French rentals, is spacious and well equipped. We also found it clean as well as convent le located for daily trips to explore the quaint hill towns of Provence and local villages. We will certainly return one day.

“Holiday of a lifetime!”

Wonderful location, ambience and comfort. So close to so many picturesque places yet so private. Everything we could want was available for us. Loved this home!

“Wonderful week in beautiful location”

Reviewed 9 Jun 2012

We had an amazing week at La Jassine. We had spent two years living there many years previous and had loved it, and our return visit certainly matched our memories. The setting is idyllic: the house is quiet and private, with a stunning view of the Luberon mountains, but close to charming villages with bustling markets and cafes, excellent restaurants, as well as historic ruins and rustic hikes. The house has a spacious living area that opens out onto a beautiful terrace, perfect for leisurely market-fresh meals. The rooms are well-appointed, the pool is great for a post-hike dip and the tennis court looks out to the same view of the mountains. Sandra and Paul are very attentive and communicative hosts, and they provide very detailed information about the house, the area, and tips for enjoying the region. We had a really lovely week and hope to return again sometime!
