Room was in need of an.update. The location was great, however the facility lacks adequate parking. Guests are expected to park off premises. The staff was friendly.
Response from the manager Thank you for your review. To be clear, the building 100 that you stayed in is directly beside the very large Carhenge Community lot (accommodates 40 vehicles) and this is where we direct our guests in advance of their stay. We also have a 14 car lot that sits in the middle of our four structures. We make every effort to make it clear how and where to park to our guests. Please come back anytime. Sincerely, Heather White Manager
Booked for ski trip. Short walk to lift and free bus. Room was very clean, staff friendly and helpful. Room comfortable but spartan, worked for me. Could be a little noisy during high occupancy. Parking can be a bit of a problem, got a nice spot in the public lot and did not use car until departing. Would book again.
Response from the manager Thank you for your review. Thank you for mentioning the free shuttle around town that runs every 20 minutes. It's a very convenient amenity that our town provides for getting around without needing to use your car. Sincerely, Heather White Manager
“Great location. Great value.”
This was our second stay at Mountainside Inn. Have to say our room last year was better, it was a studio with living room & kitchen. I thought I was booking the same style room. #114 is more like a hotel room. It was clean and the bed was good. There is a coffee maker but no microwave or small fridge found in most hotel rooms. We drink tea morning and night. The thermostat on the wall did not work but heat did kick on now and then. We thought the temperature was set at one place for the whole building hallways were toasty. Glad the weather was unseasonably warm for end of January.
Response from the manager We thank you for your review and will most certainly check the room out for properly working heat. We encourage our guests to let us know as soon as they can if there are any issues as your comfort is of utmost concern to us. Sincerely, Heather White Manager
“Comfy and close to everything”
No frills property, but the location cannot be beat. Slept great, everything worked, and it was great value for the money. It is not a 4 or 5 star hotel but it has all the basics needed to get the job done.
Response from the manager We thank you for your review and glad you enjoyed staying here. Please do come back anytime. Sincerely, Heather White Manager Mountainside Inn Telluride, CO
“great, economical accomodations.”
This rental filled our need exactly. It was in good shape, was clean and everything worked. would not hesitate to stay there again.
Response from the manager Hi Dick, Thank you for your review and due come back and see us anytime.
Baedspread was dirty. Not enough parking available. No air conditioning. Service was good.
Response from the manager Hi Judy, Thank you for your review. We take all comments seriously. If you thought your accommodatioins were not satisfactory we would have taken care of this immediately upon your request. Parking in Telluride in general can be challanging at times. We always supply our guests with alternative parking. Telluride for the most part does not have any air conditioning. In the the evenings the temps dip into the 40's and 50's and no air conditioning is needed
“Wow - I think the best word is fraud”
My stay at this place was terrible. The staff reception was poor. Of course, we came to stay to attend the Bluegrass festival which I understand is crowded and hectic. However, when I made the reservation, the service personnel expressly represented that there was sufficient parking. When I arrived, the front desk personnel represented the same thing and identified on a map where I could park and expressly stated that there were "reserved spots" in which I could park and that there were "attendants in orange vests" ensuring that these reserved spots were clear. None of these statements turned out to be true. About two hours later on my third trip back to the front desk, the reception staff finally and sheepishly admitted that there was insufficient parking for all the guests and that I would have to park in Mountain Village and take the gondola back over the mountain. This defeated the entire purpose of staying at this location. I am a lawyer. I do not intend to sue, but let's be clear: what happened to me is legally actionable and probably qualifies as a violation of the Colorado Consumer Protection act supporting a claim for treble damages and attorney's fees. If someone gets angry enough, they will sue and Telluride apline Lodging will lose catastrophically. I hope you take this to heart.
Response from the manager Guest has been contacted privately, and we are happy to have resolved the situation.
“Not worth it.”
Checked in a couple hours early and got to the room. Figured the room would at least have a fridge or microwave but it didn't. Had older TV not to much of a concern but I know it is to some people. You had to get all the ice you needed before 5pm when the office closes cause for some reason everything is in there. Good thing people don't need ice for their drinks in the evening... Then I don't know if people were just loud or the walls were paper thin. Oh and the bed was 2 beds pushed together! That was ridiculous. It was our honeymoon and we couldn't snuggle cause we couldn't lay in the "middle" of the 2 beds. I would never stay at this place again unless I absolutely had to.
Response from the manager Thank you for taking the time to write your review. Our rooms contain split king bedding meaning they have multi purposes depending on occupancy. Had we known it was your honeymoon we would have accommodated you. We also have the options of a kitchenettes with frig and micro available but that is something we need to be informed of. The ice machine is located outside of the office and is available 24/7.
“Weekday Get away”
As we live in Durango Co, we know the area and have stayed with you for the last 10 years. We retired in Duranngo and get away for a short stays. We love the location, close to bus line, liquor store and lifts.Deepest hot tub in the world.and outside. We love the $.fits our needs .
Response from the manager We are glad you choose Mountainside Inn for your getaways! And glad you enjoy the convenient location as well as the hot tub! Look forward to seeing you again soon.
“Need a coffee maker”
I have stayed at the Mountainside before. I am disappointed that you can't at least put a coffee maker in the rooms that don't have a kitchen set up. The office doesn't open til 8:30 for coffee, and lugging one with me (since I drive to T-Ride) is a nuisance, and the glass pot will probably break at some point.
Response from the manager Thank you so much for writing your review. You will be happy to know that on your next visit there will be coffee set ups in all of our rooms. We look forward to your return stay at Mountainside Inn
