“Good value for money”
Good value for money; clean and well maintaines facilities and nice personnel. Even is not published, they serve a complimentary simple but really appreciated breakfast. Excellent location in Telluride. Walking distance to the lifts and gondola to Mountain Village are a plus.
Response from the manager So happy that you found good things at Mountainside Inn. We appreciate that you shared your experience. Sincerely, Heather White Manager
“For the price could not have been better”
Clean and comfortable room with a great location right on the river. Easy walk to town. The room was clean and quiet with a hot tub.
Response from the manager Thank you for your review and we appreciate that you stayed with us. We hope to see you again when possible. Sincerely, Heather White Manager Mountainside Inn Telluride, CO
“Not what one expects from Telluride!”
Parking for this facility is an absolute disaster! Sitting in a line of vehicles attempting to access the parking lot to register, we were honked at and flipped off by a young woman driving the resort SUV belonging to the resort across the way. 2 cars in our group had to park more than 2 blocks from the hotel. We had to park in "Car-henge" the public dirt and gravel parking lot located behind the buildings and seemingly designated as the local hang out for the non-English speaking construction workers, who were drinking, drunk, and incapable of offering the slightest coherent information. Tiffany, the young woman checking us in, became very confused and gave me the wrong keys as well as a completely different parking permit than was required for our room. She was very uninformative and unhelpful. No smile. No welcome greeting. No courtesy whatsoever. The room itself was perhaps on par with a Motel 6 room. It was mediocre. It was clean, however, definitely nothing special. When I made coffee in the morning, it tasted horrific, almost earthy, mildew-y. Figured out that it was the coffee maker itself, as the water out of the tap was delightful. The office does not open until after 8:00am, therefore none of us was able to obtain a closeout bill, as we were slated to be on the road by 7:30. Nor were any of us able to at least get a decent cup of coffee from our hotel. I ended up popping into auberge Inn which is just across the way from Mountainside Inn and a truly delightful young man offered me a wonderful cup of coffee as well as all of the information and answers to my questions that Tiffany was incapable of. If all you are looking for is a bed and a bathroom; and a quiet nights sleep is not mandatory, visit this place. Cars and motorcycles were roaring past our window all night. We were not impressed and definitely would not stay in this facility again.
Response from the manager What an unpleasant experience for you. We apologize for these items you mention and will address the pertinent things. I would be glad to email you a Statement of Account, however this email you've sent from is not on file in our system. Please contact 970-728-1950 if you still need a receipt. We can certainly email it to you. It would be helpful to know the room number you stayed in so we can check out your complaint about the coffeemaker. This should not be. Concerning the Auberg residences, this is a newly built luxury property that is a few hundred a night to stay in. Had you let us know that your room was unsuitable, we could have addressed it while you were here. Heather White Manager
“Comfortable, inexpensive and close to lift”
For $99 per night, this place is a steal. The room is cozy, it is a short walk to the lift, and the people are friendly.
Response from the manager Lori, Thank you so much for taking the time to write your great review of Mountainside Inn! We are the most affordable lodging in Telluride and you can't beat the location to the mountain. Come back and see us soon!
“A bear broke into my rental car in the parking lot”
The good: The room and bathroom were clean. The bad: For the price I paid a continental breakfast would've been nice. My $41 dollar room in Cortez had a fridge and microwave, this much more expensive room...nope. Don't expect a pretty scene outside your window..we got the driveway. The bed was suppose to be a king...actually 2 twins strapped together to create a very uncomfortable place right in the center. You guys are in Telluride!! Get actual kings for pete's sake. Oh yea, and a bear broke into my rental car in their parking lot which is really just a dirt, city parking lot. This place was the cheapest I could get and still spent $250 for 2 nights. Had to do it for a friends wedding, but wouldn't waste my money otherwise.
Response from the manager Rachel, Mountainside Inn is the most affordable lodging in Telluride during festival season. All our our king bedding can be split into twin beds as this allows us to accommodate all our many visitors needs We do post 'bear' signs everywhere as a cautionary warning for our guests.
Made my reservation through Telluride Central Booking. I wanted hot water in the shower, clean bedding and a good lock on the door. Got two out of three. The lock was poor. Close in parking was non-existant for me anyway. When I checked in there was a dire warning if you weren't checked out on time, 10:00 am, but the office didn't open till 9:00 am. Glad they had a key drop box. I'll go back to Telluride in the fall again, but I'll look for someplace else to stay.
Response from the manager Hello Tom, Thank you for your review. We take your comments seriously. Parking can be tricky in Telluride. When our immediate lot is full we direct you to the overflow lot next door to Mountainside Inn. If you are arriving after hours there are directions posted at the front door. Come back and see us soon
The room was OK, but expensive for what it was. But...the fire alarm went off twice in the wee hours of the morning and kept us awake for quite a while. I probably should have asked for some kind of discount for the inconvenience.
Response from the manager Michael, Yes we had a hiccup in the alarm system and we are extremely sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. We did give you an adjustment on your stay. We are looking forward to your return visit.
“Area was very dark and it was difficult to find the office.”
A lot of water was wasted trying to get hot water to the shower. It was dark outside when we arrived and we had a difficult time trying to find the office. There are holes in the walkway and there was construction junk all around. When I made the reservation, the clerk was very friendly and helpful.
Response from the manager Hello Diana, Thank you for the time in reviewing Mountainside Inn. We appreciate your comments. We apologize for the construction but it is almost complete. On your next visit all will be in order. Telluride Alpine Lodging has 350 properties in and around Telluride and Mountain Village. If Mountainside Inn did not fit your needs I am sure we have one that will. Mountainside Inn is still the most affordable and convienent location in town. Looking forward to your return.
“A long way away from home.”
We got to Telluride after over seven hours driving. It was great to lay down and go to bed. The accommodations were comfortable and clean. However, no parking was available so we had to park blocks away on the street. I was surprised to know nobody would be there after 8:00pm so we didn't know there was additional parking until after we entered the room and could read the registration packet fully. It wasn't a great way to begin our mini-vacation but proved to be nice home base during our tour of Telluride... Unless you forget you key after 8pm.
Response from the manager Thanks Anna for taking the time to review Mountainside Inn. Sorry about the parking issue, due to the construction and limited parking we have in our facility it is hard to get a spot. Hopefully that is something we can remedy for future guests. However we do hope the rest of your stay here was enjoyable. Have a great summer and come back and see us!
“I Wish I could retire in Telluride.”
The location of Mountainside Inn can't be beat. Nothing fancy, but the rooms are clean and the staff very helpful. It's perfect for the budget conscious traveler, and did I mention location? I had to check out before the office staff arrived (8am), but I dropped the key and the lockbox and phoned to request a receipt be emailed to me. It was sent within minutes. Overall, great stay.
Response from the manager Thanks so much for taking the time to review Mountainside Inn and we're so glad to hear your stay here was enjoyable. Our location is great, not to far from just about everything. And speaking of retiring, we always welcome new comers to Telluride so come on!! Have a great summer and come back and see us.
