“Perfect for low cost stay in Telluride”

Reviewed 15 Aug 2013

I spoke to friendly, helpful staff over the phone to confirm our stay and to request a specific room. We needed two beds and a kitchen. The room was spacious and clean. We arrived very late at night; late check-in was easy. The price was great, the best we could find. It was comfortable, quiet, and I would return. Parking at carhenge was convenient, located just behind the hotel. Two fantastic restaurants nearby and downtown is only about a 5 block walk. Gondola is a 2 block walk, along the scenic river path. Convenient, best price, comfortable, clean, friendly staff.

Response from the manager We appreciate the kind review. Thank you and please come back! Heather White Manager

great, rachel was accomadating on a busy caotic weekend. parking situation a little of an inconvenience

Response from the manager Thank you for your review of the Mountainside Inn. Parking is a first come first serve basis, but we have a large overflow parking lot called Carhenge if the Mountainside Inn parking lot is full. We hope you will stay with us again in the future.

“My friend had a awesome time”

Reviewed 13 Mar 2013

I purchased a mini vacation for a friend so he could watch over my business while I was on vacation with my wife. He had a great time staying at Mountian side inn. told me that if I ever need help again he would like to stay at the same place.

Response from the manager We are pleased your friend has such a good time at Mountainside Inn and we hope to see him again anytime.

“Inexpensive, Clean, and Convenient”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2012

My wife and I have stayed in the village during winter many times but wanted to stay in town to do some hiking and attend the Blues Festival this summer. The Mountainside Inn, Rm 318 was perfect for our trip. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The kitchenette allowed us to bring groceries and cook all of our meals in room. We had a king sized bed which was confortable and the bathroom was large with shower only, no tub.

Response from the manager HI Rob, So glad you chose Mountainside Inn for your summer fun! Please join us again for winter activites as we are practicality ski in ski out with chair 7 right outside our door. See you again soon.

This was a lousy experience in every respect. The bed was billed as a King but was two beds put together and where they met was an impossible gap. And the bed was too big for the room, so the small table was squeezed against the wall and there was no room to get to it. One burner in the "kitchen" didn't work. The Woman at the front desk could barely be bothered to answer even the simplest questions...actually felt like i was bothering her every time I asked anything. They promised parking and, yes, I know, it was the festival, but so what? When i asked about it she said "good luck". And when I asked about the filthy Hot tub my surly Front Desk Lady said "oh, i guess he didn't get to it.." And after the cost of it all, Maid service was extra... Please, avoid this dump.

Response from the manager We are sorry to read about your disappointing experience although we value candid feedback. Maintenance has addressed the kitchen burner, and I can assure you that the service you received is not our standard and for that I apologize. If you would like to discuss your experience further, please do not hesitate to contact me. Kate Stokes Guest Services Supervisor

“Good Location With Paper Thin Walls”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2012

I arrived early and was not able to get into my room until later but the lady at the desk was very nice about it and checked to see how early I could get in. Once I got in the room I saw it was pretty much as described, small and older. It was clean and had the basic kitchen items. The bathroom is a good size with separate space for the toilet. The huge problem was the paper thin walls. This is a connecting room so there is also a couple of doors separating the rooms and they must be hollow. I could everything from the family of a small child next door. Everything. At one point, late at night, I work up to hear a phone conversation going on next door and I could even hear the other person on the line! That's thin walls! I sleep well in moat places but I actually lost some sleep in this room. One other problem at this inn, and probably at a lot of inns/condos in the area, is the lack of parking. It's very tight in the area by the inn but there is other parking in a nearby public lot. There is not an elevator so be sure and ask for a bottom floor room if you have issues with stairs and carrying items up to the second floor. The location was pretty good, especially for skiing. The walk to the main street was a little further and could be difficult if your are not used to the altitude and icy roads/side walks.

Response from the manager Thank you so much for your review. We take all comments positive and negative into concideration. Parking in Telluride can sometimes be an issue but fortunately Mountainside Inn has access to adjacent parking as most accommodations do not. As far as elevators go, we are only a two story facility and while elevators would be nice they were not included in the origional construction about 40 years ago. On your next visit we will see if one of our housemen can help you with your luggage. Come see us again in the summer for our festivals

“We enjoyed our stay.”

Reviewed 2 Feb 2012

Overall everything was fine except that we understood we would have two beds not one. However, the bed was in good condition-firm. The service was good and the room was clean & in good shape. The location is good. Last time we had a view of the skiers and boarders coming down the trail and really enjoyed it. This time we could see our vehicle in the parking lot. Your prices are affordable for us.We are glad you are there. Telluride is awesomely beautiful!

Response from the manager Hi Joel, Thank you for your kind review and we apologize about the confusion on the bedding. On your next visit please mention the location you would like and we will do everything we can to accomodate you. We look forward to your next stay

“Great value, enjoyable stay”

Reviewed 26 Jan 2011

This is a very reasonably priced place to stay, with everything we needed -- including being dog-friendly. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The kitchenette is minimal, but works great for simple tasks like reheating leftovers, simple breakfasts, and during this stay we even used the stove to make a very simple meal. The outdoor hot tub is a wonderful way to relax after playing hard all day.

Response from the manager Pam, Thank you for your review of Mountainside Inn. So glad you enjoyed your stay. Come back again and bring Fido.

“Great Location Ski in.”

Reviewed 12 Jan 2011

Great location that you can ski in and ski out. Kind of old on the inside don't expect a luxury stay and it's good. Bed is terrible hard as a rock. Not bad for the deal price.

Response from the manager Darrin, Thank you for your review. Mountainside Inn has one of the best locations in Telluride for skiing. While we are not the five star lodging we are the most affordable. We look forward to a return visit.
