“Toiya's review of wonderful retreat at Rivendell”

Reviewed 25 Mar 2012

My best friend and I visited Rivendell for a personal mini-retreat, and we were so glad we chose this place. It was such a blessing! The property was beautiful, serene, very clean and well maintained. We had everything we needed. It is clear that the staff goes out of their way to ensure all their guests needs are met. It was so peaceful, it seemed that all I could do was sleep for the first 24 hours! Special thanks to Marie at Rivendell, who helped coordinate our stay. She was awesome and super informative. This place is just what the doctor ordered!

Response from the owner Rivendell is the culmination of a dream for a gathering place for people to rest and restore and we have attempted to outfit it for such an atmosphere. So glad it was a blessing to you. Tucked away in a secluded haven with majestic views of Lake Taneycomo, Rivendell exudes calmness and peace. Thank you for visiting and sharing our dream!

“Family Reunion...our best ever!”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2012

My extended family and I recently stayed at the Rest Inn Rivendell and it was beyond fantastic! Every last detail was thought out and well executed. The house is beautiful, beyond what the photos can capture. The bed was so comfortable that I wanted to bring it home with me. There is a spectacular view from the deck that overlooks the river and hills which we enjoyed greatly with our morning coffee. We also enjoyed the fireplaces and the game room was perfect for my two teenage boys! All of us got out at one point for either a run on the roads or a long walk on the winding path, both a hit! We really enjoyed visiting with the friendly cows down the lane as well as the dogs that waggled out to be scratched. There is an essence of peace that encompasses this house! The gift basket awaiting us upon our arrival was unexpected and very much appreciated! Everything in the house is top of the line; from the gift basket to the kitchenware, from the shampoo to the linens, from the sauna to the hot tub, and from the inner décor to the amazing views surrounding Rivendell. A+++! There isn't a better property to rent, and we have stayed in many places! Thank you for such a beautiful stay, words cannot describe how wonderful your home is! The value of the home for the price asked is unbelieveable!

Response from the owner Wow, Jennifer, even though you say words cannot describe how wonderful Rivendell is, you did a fantastic job! We use Rivendell for our own retreats and renewals, so we have created an atmosphere there so that all our guests can receive that refreshing. So glad that everyone was able to find something to enjoy.

“Ultimate Rest”

Reviewed 26 Oct 2011

If you are looking for tranquility, artistic flavor, and comfort you need not look any further than Rest in Rivendell! The home & location are breathtaking! The owners truly went all out to make you feel like royalty as you stay in this majestic get-away. Each room has it's own distinct character with a 2 stove kitchen for those cooking for large groups! My favorite surprise of the property was finding a waterfall, which leads into Lake Taneycomo, at the bottom of the hill in which the house is perched. Truly magnificent! I brought 8 friends of mine to stay this past weekend and the memories we created together will last a Lifetime! We were continually awed by the radiance and peace of this place! From the waterfall, to the jacuzzi, to sharing a meal around the grand dining table, to watching eagle's soar from the decks... fellowship was rich and we all felt pampered! Bravo! I recommend this home to everyone! It will suit the needs of large groups to solo retreats, and all the in-between... you will not be disappointed!

“Amazing Experience”

Reviewed 12 Oct 2011

We had an amazing experience at Rivendell Inn this summer. Everything is done with such excellence. My nephew said it was the nicest house he had ever been in. What a great, relaxing time. We highly recommend this place to anyone!

“Relaxing”

Beautiful views, cozy charm and wonderful home. We had such a blessed time while in Rivendale. Really felt like we spoiled ourselves. Could have stayed at the house all weekend with out going into Branson! The way the home is expertly decorated only added to the beauty of the nature all around.

“Beautiful, inspiring home filled with peace & luxurious comfort”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2011

I stayed here for a prayer retreat and it was a wonderful experience. This home is filled with inspiring, artistic detail as well as luxurious comfort. It's the perfect place to "get away from it all", yet still be close to Branson and all it has to offer. The home is clean, quiet and isolated, and you can tell a lot of love was put into this place! I highly recommend it to others who need a quiet retreat, but also to families and groups who want a place to just connect with each other.

“Rivendell is the place to stay in Branson!”

Reviewed 4 Oct 2011

If you're looking for a place to stay while vacationing in Branson...Look no further! This past July, we spent our family reunion at Rivendell for one week. With fourteen of us in tow, this retreat palace had more than enough room, and more than enough activities to keep us entertained. These are just some of the things we really enjoyed about this place: the panoramic views from the rear deck, huge front porch, downstairs game/living room, well-tuned piano for those that are musically inclined, luxurious and comfortable bedrooms, and hiking down the trail to Lake Taneycomo. Oh yes, I almost forgot, everyone loved sitting down together at the large kitchen table for every meal. It allowed all of us to enjoy each others company, and for some of us, it gave us the chance to strengthen old family ties. The major attractions, restaurants, and grocery stores are all within 20 minutes of the house. We can't wait to come again!

“The perfect haven of rest and relaxation.”

This place was a bit of heaven on earth. My husband and i live really busy lives and don't get enough time together away from the stress of life. This was exactly what we needed and we can't wait to go back!!!

“Wonderful place! Beautiful home!”

Reviewed 11 Sep 2011

We had our family reunion in Branson in July with 16 people staying there + 8 more visiting during the day. There was more than enough room for everyone to play, eat and visit. It was pretty hot and humid so we spent most of our time indoors but some of us were able to walk down to the lake (rough trail). We had kids from 4 years old to 85 years old and it was a wonderful experience. The owners are easy to work with and will do what they can to make your stay enjoyable. Rivendell is located only 15 minutes from east Branson and 10 minutes to a grocery store so though it is rural, it is very convenient. Our only "complaint" was that the movies provided were VHS and it was difficult to hook up the VCR so bring your own Dvds (already hooked up). If you need to rent a large house near Branson, you will love Rest Inn Rivendell.

Response from the owner Thank you Jenni, for choosing our home for your time together! Yes, children to golden-years have all found space and peace in our home. I'm so glad you explored our beginning trails. Wonderful news: this March (2012) Evangel University is making our trails the focus of one of their service projects!! So, hopefully on your next visit you will find the trails "completed." After we read your comments when you departed, we immediately went out and purchased and installed a new VCR. Thank you for the heads up on that. The Video library is chock-full of Disney-G :-). Peace, alicia

“peace and beauty in Rivendell”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2011

The name of this place, Rivendell, perfectly describes it. (Think Lord of the Rings.) Perched on the edge of a cliff overlooking lake Taneycomo, with stunning views from the terrace, with trees around and below it, Rivendell breathes an air of deep quietness. Through all the house the furniture and furnishings have clearly been chosen with care and thoughtfulness, and with great attention to detail. Again, Rivendell perfectly describes it. The first morning at breakfast a bald eagle flew by - far above the river for her, but at window height for us. We turned around to look out of the opposite window and deer were browsing among the cliff-top trees. What a perfect getaway! Of course, Branson was nearby with all the shopping and entertainment we could ask for, but it was the peace of Rivendell we needed and wanted. We hope it will be the first of many visits.
