“Amazing retreat in Hana - look no further.”

Reviewed 9 Nov 2013

My wife and I stayed 2 nights at Hale Heavenly Hana and were really sad we had to leave so soon. The location was perfect and the house really had everything we needed. Everything was exactly as pictured in the listing - fully stocked kitchen (utensils, not food) with just about every kitchen tool you need to make a gourmet dinner, washer and dryer, nice comfy bed, amazing soaking tub, WiFi, plenty of open space and places to relax. The property is gorgeous and very serene. At night, perfect silence is only disturbed by occasional strange gecko sounds. This is truly an amazing place to relax and unwind after a day full of adventure. The Hale's location is perfect - close to all of the sights of Hana, and convenient for beating the tourist crowds. I highly recommend staying in Hana if you want to have plenty of time to relax and visit all the popular places. After driving the Road to Hana my wife and I were very happy that we didn't have to drive back the same day. Although the drive and stops are very beautiful, I can't imagine spending only a fraction of the day in this paradise. My advice? Bring lots of food and stay for a week if you can! Speaking of food, there's not a whole lot of it out there, so you'll really appreciate a full kitchen at your disposal when you purchase your own groceries in Kahului and cook at the Hale. The town's store is primitive and expensive. During our visit, a day full of driving (Road to Hana), physical activities (hikes) and swimming left us exhausted. Not to worry, the soaking tub took all the pain away and a full night's undisturbed sleep refreshed us for the next day's adventure (sadly, on the 2nd morning that meant driving back to the airport). My wife and I are both looking forward to our next visit. We will definitely stay at the Hale (if it's available). I would definitely recommend it to friends and family and can't wait to come back! Thank you Helene!

“Perfect romantic getaway in beautiful Hana”

Reviewed 21 Apr 2011

After spending a couple of days in touristy western Maui, I was ready to embark on one of the world's most beautiful drives through the island of Maui to its better half: heavenly Hana. When we arrived at the house a little over two hours later, I was amazed by all the beauty and tranquility that surrounded the property. Nestled in the rainforest, the house sits atop a giant fruit orchard with views of the ocean and rainforest below. There are star fruit, papaya, banana, avocado, lemon, mango, and macadamia nut trees. The house itself is absolutely gorgeous and well cared for. It is apparent the owners took a great deal of time and effort making the property comfortable and perfect. We were greeted by the sounds of birds chirping, a giant bowl of fruit collected from around the property, and a few stunning tropical flower arrangements in the entry-way, bathroom, and on tables. The effect is immediately calming. The privacy and beauty provided by the surrounding rainforest and mountains is amazing. The house had everything we needed for a delightful and refreshing vacation, including comfortable beds, plenty of closet space, washer&dryer;, internet access, a wine cooler, a spacious kitchen with plenty of counter space and high-end appliances, indoor and outdoor showers, a giant soaking tub, a great TV, and even boogie boards and a few beach chairs. The house is very convenient to Wainapanapa State Park, Hamoa Beach, the red sand beach, the Seven Pools and bamboo forests, etc. The property is just across the highway (walking distance) from the best banana bread stand in Hana. It's a 5-10 minute drive to convenient stores and restaurants in town. I recommend stopping at a grocery store on your way to Hana because the stores are very limited. My favorite part of the house was spending time on the comfy chairs on the screened Lanai... playing scrabble, reading, drinking wine, and spending hours just relaxing. What more could you ask for? Positively amazing.
