The Hunt Haus was just ideal for my stay in Vail. Large, bright, huge deck, ample parking, at the end of a very quiet street, and close to the valley's grocery stores made this location perfect. Thank you!
This was an awesome rental!! Friends and I came up to vail for the tough mudder race in beaver creek and we were more than impressed with the house upon arrival! There were multiple balconies with stellar views, a huge patio, more than enough living space, a fully equipped kitchen, and the bedrooms are so nice! It slept 10 of us comfortably. we didn't even want to go out to dinner because we wanted to sit on our quiet patio and enjoy our view. Definitely a great deal for the money. We will without a doubt be back!
“Clean, spacious, convenient”
We stayed in Hunt Haus for a week in December 2012. The house has a separate master bedroom unit on the first floor with its own kitchen, fireplace and living room, and 3 other bedrooms (1 with King bed, 1 with Queen bed, and 1 with 2 Twins and 1 Queen bed). We were 2 families - 4 adults and 4 kids, and there was plenty of room for everybody (we even had 1 bedroom empty). Checking in and out was very easy. The house is very clean and well equipped. Midweek cleaning service was included, but we didn't use it. The house is 5 minutes walk from the bus stop, so there is no need to drive to Vail Village and pay $25 a day for parking. This bus stop is almost first on this route, so you get on the bus while it's still almost empty. Also, plaza with grocery and liqueur stores as well as Sport authority and some other stores is just 5 minutes drive from the house. There was just one little issue that I want to mention. Part of the 2nd floor has hardwood floor, and it was so slippery that pretty much everybody fell or almost fell at least once until we enforced "slippers on" policy. Overall this was an excellent place to stay in Vail. Highly recommend.
“Not very impressive, but a decent crash pad”
The house was clean which is the most important thing. Nothing inside of it has been updated since the 80s, but whatever. It was a fun and economical way to have a bunch of people stay in Vail
“Great closing weekend, no hot water.”
We had a fantastic closing weekend experience in Vail. There was plenty of room for everyone with a great living room area to congregate. The deck was awesome and parking was a breeze. The free bus to the slopes was a short walk away and who wants to pay $25 for parking? Everything was great except for the fact that there was no hot water in the place. Literally, nobody was able to take a hot shower. We couldn't even do dishes with hot water. This is definitely something that should be addressed. Also, the addition of a hot tub would have been great but I'm not complaining. Overall, great house, great value. I would definitely recommend.
My family of 4 stayed at Hunt Haus the week before Christmas 2009. Our first impression of the home was not good since the entry is through the basement work room/lauandry room and the smell when you first enter the house is of mildew. We arrived after midnight and by the next morning we decided to stay in the home since the upstairs living and bedrooms were in better condition. Overall I think that the home is fairly priced and I would recommend to larger family groups on a budget. We did like the outside grill and the location. The service from Vail Management Company was good---directions to the home were easy to follow and everything in the home functioned properly.
“A wonderful gathering place”
We stayed at the Hunt House while celebrating my son's marriage at Vail Mt. The home interior was a very pleasant surprise. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots and pans, soaps, etc. Bathroom towels were plentiful. We never ran out of hot water, yeah! Housekeeping did a great job preparing the home for us. The management staff was very efficient in communicating with us. The driveway accommodated all of our guests. We so appreciated the easy flow of the home considering that we shared the house with my extended family from Wi.,Fla, and CO. Thank you so much. The Hunt House would definitely be a repeat choice when we come again to Vail.
Three level home on hillside near Lionshead. Entry has large snow room for removing gear and snowy boots. First level has small kitchen, common room and bedroom with separate bath. Only negative is the thermostat for the bedroom is in the closet. Positive is each room has separate thermostat. Second level has very large kitchen, dining area, bedroom and bath with large great room with TV and fireplace...all very nice for gathering together. Third level has bedrooms and bath. All very clean and well equipted.
“We skied like crazy!”
As a subscriber to two skiing magazines I am always looking for a great deal for spring skiing out west. I found it in 2007 in an advertised special through Vail. The Hunt house could accommodate 10 people easily but there were only 4 of us so we had privacy and lots of room to lounge around. The house is older but well kept and friendly. I felt like I was staying at a friends place not in an unpersonalized hotel. The kitchen is big and well equipped, the beds were very comfy, the furnishings were clean and nice. We cooked gourmet dinners every night after a days skiing. We had 4 days of lift tickets for each person with our rental. We skied 2 days at Vail, and 1 each at Beaver Creek and A Basin. As we were driving out our last morning it was a perfect day so we paid full price to ski one more day at Copper Mountain. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Denver on our way in and out and made the drive to and from Wisconsin with ease. It was a great vacation with wonderful friends and skiing. I hope I can find a great deal like this one again, I will book and use the Hunt house again too.
