“Great Condo with Ski in/out access”
Condo was about 50 yards from the slopes and is about an 8/10 min walk to Vail Village for dinner. The condo was very spacious with plenty of living space on the main floor. The staff was helpful and completed any requests in a timely manner.
Nice location. Easy access to slopes. Lower level including kitchen really nice. Bedrooms and bathrooms need an upgrade ASAP. Cable has very limited channels.
Quite dated especially the bedrooms. Not easy to "ski in ski out". Too far to walk to village at night.
Response from the manager Thank you for your review. We do our best to give accurate information about our vacation rentals. We provide recent photos and a video of this condo on our website, as well as Google maps and distances to various landmarks. The ski trail is accessed by walking out of your building and past the pool area to the fence, about 100 yards, where you can put on your skis and push yourself to the lift. At the end of your day, it is very easy to ski back to the Northwoods property. You just have to find the skier tunnel under the Golden Peak race course.
Great condo, very close to slopes. Space was perfect for out family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids.) Condo was clean and well maintained. Would definitely stay there again. Spiral stairs in the Northwoods units are tricky but we were okay with them.
“Great Ski-in, Ski-out Location”
This is the second time we've stayed in this condo, and hopefully we'll come back several more times! It's a great location (ski-in, ski-out) and comfortable for 4-6 people. The complex has a nice pool and hot tub. Very nice!
“Condo Near Vail Village”
I enjoyed the upkeeps of the condo with granite counter tops and new furniture. The living space was great to lounge in with our family. However, the spiral staircase was a killer with socks on. My aunt fell down a few steps and hurt her foot. I would put something else on the steps to provide skid. In addition, it was difficult to get a large suitcase up the stairs. I don't recall seeing this in the pictures. The location wasn't too far from bus stop and the free heated garage was definitely a plus.
“Very comfortable and classy accomodation. Very quiet.”
Beautiful living room. Comfy bedrooms. Lots of space. Full service kitchen. Nice view. Free underground parking. Effortless check-in and check-out.
“Great location, nice kitchen, tough stairs”
The location was perfect for 4th of July weekend. Easy walk to Bridge Street, but not in the middle of town. Kitchen was nice with new appliances. Bathrooms were functional although dated. Bedrooms were comfortable, perfect for a family of four. The only drawback was the narrow, iron spiral staircase. It was difficult to use even as a young, active family.
“Vail Northwoods A105/Good condo but some location issues”
The condo was in very good condition, well kept up, and comfortable for a family of four; more people would be tight. Kitchen is well equipped and up to date, very usable. Bed rooms are small but with good beds. Bathrooms are basic but serviceable. Living room is good sized and well equipped; unit had dedicated WiFi connection with good connectivity and bandwidth. The few issues we had were more about "truth in advertising" that overstated or underplayed certain items: the unit is "ski-in/ski-out" only if you have a VERY, VERY generous definition of that term. "Skiing out" requires about a five minute walk to the slope at the far western end of the five building condo complex (unit A105 is at the far eastern end of the condo complex); "Skiing in" is a little better as one can ski on the walkway within the condo complex that is downhill from the slope assuming there is snow on the walkways and you're comfortable skiing on a narrow walkway. Swimming pool is listed as all-season, but it isn't; it's effectively closed during the winter; hottub is open during the winter. Also, the main Vail bus doesn't run to the condo, only the east Vail bus, which runs on a very reduced schedule (like once an hour most of the time). If you don't have a car, plan on walking to and from the Golden Peak area (5 to 10 minute walk) if you want access to the much more frequent Vail city bus (every 5 minutes or so). In the past we've stayed at Lionshead, and still probably prefer Lionshead as you're really in the village. This unit doesn't really feel like it's in Vail proper as it's somewhat isolated, but not a bad walk to get into Vail proper or to the city bus.
“Good Value Condo in Nice Complex”
We stayed in Northwoods A105 which we rented through Vail Management Co. The management company was a pleasure to deal with and made things very easy. The condominium is a two bedroom, 2 1/2 bathroom in a very nice complex. The complex has a hot tub, pool, and fitness center which are well maintained. The property is ski-in/ski-out - however, note that A105 is on the back side of the complex and is a long walk in ski boots from the slopes! Also, the ski slope which leads to the complex is a steep blue, so it is not appropriate for beginning skiers. The living areas of the condominium, as well as the kitchen, were superb. The downstairs has been recently remodeled and has nice furniture, appliances, and carpet. The upstairs, which consists of two bedrooms and two bathrooms - is dated and needs to be remodeled. The second bedroom contains two twin beds, and the frames are bigger than the mattresses which is awkward because the beds to not sit neatly against the wall. The window blinds are broken and all of the furniture needs to be replaced. The closet doors are rickety and also need to be replaced. Overall, a very comfortable condominium with bedrooms that need updating.
