“An unforgettable visit to Sedona!”

Reviewed 16 Apr 2014

We just spent an incredible week in Sedona and the experience wouldn't have been the same had we not discovered Glendon's cliff house.  A true work of art (inside and out), the house was comfortable, immaculately clean, perfectly located, with drop-dead gorgeous views through every window.  We were two couples (best friends) and each couple had private bedrooms with full bathrooms and plenty of room.  And some of the best hiking trails were literally out the front door.  The home is an architectural gem, built into one of Sedona's iconic red rock cliffs.  All I can say is that this is an instance where the reality of the place exceeds the beauty of the photographs.  We're planning on coming back again soon!

“Wondeful Place and location !”

Reviewed 20 Jun 2013

We rented Glendon's house in april and had a fantastic time. It is absolutely awesome ! Spacious, beautiful views and great location. We loved the firepit and had some really nice evenings out there. Hiked and explored right behind his house. He was available when necessary, very friendly and accomodating. His two chocolate labs were an added treat but were not too overbearing if you're not a dog person. Highly recommend to anyone looking for an extra special place to stay in a fabulous part of the country, Sedona !!

“You will not be disappointed!”

Reviewed 18 Apr 2012

After reading all of the previous reviews, it's difficult to find new ways of describing Glendon's unbelievable home, its location in the Sedona area, or Sedona itself. This was our first time visiting the area, as well as our first time renting a property directly from an owner. The entire experience couldn't have been better. Someone commented that the pictures don't do justice to the house or the views, and that is absolutely true. My wife, our 17 year-old-daughter and I kept commenting to each other that there is just no way we could possibly describe the beauty of the setting, or the style, quality and spaciousness of the house. We felt like rock stars for the week! Although there were just three of us in the house, we're already talking about finding two other couples and returning--there is more than enough privacy for three couples (or a very large family). The owner, Glendon, (who lives next door) was completely unobtrusive, yet immediately available if we had questions about anything. In previous reviews someone commented about cooking most of their meals at the house, and now we understand why; we really couldn't wait to get back to the house at the end of the day just to sit outside, relax, and take in the views and the tranquility (although we chose carry-out instead of cooking!). We had a bonfire a couple of nights, went on many walks and hikes, played with the dogs (who by the way will leave you alone if you don't show any interest in them), and just relaxed. As an added bonus for me, I had rented a fairly sporty car, and I went out of my way to find reasons to make the short drive into town just to enjoy the thrill of the winding mountain roads. Do yourself a favor and don't hesitate to rent this house.

“excellent Sedona property”

Reviewed 29 Feb 2012

I spent two excellent weeks here in February, 2012. It is a very comfortable and special home. The location is great, a quiet area with wonderful southern and western vistas to enjoy. The stars and night sky is so clear. Red Rock Loop road is one of the special areas of Sedona. The house is kept sparkling clean and is a study in modern design. The owner is a craftsman; the home and furnishings reflect this thoughtfulness and quality. easy to enjoy the magic of Sedona from this property.

“Fantastic!”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2011

We always stay in hotels so this was our first experience renting a home. What a great decision. Glendon is a terrific host who is justifiably proud of his property. It's as if someone gently dropped a beautiful home in the most beautiful location possible. If you only wanted pictures you'd never have to leave the house as every window has a fantastic vista. But all of Sedona awaits with its trails, shopping, exploring and fun. The Grand Canyon just two hours away. We will return!

“can you say heaven???”

Reviewed 13 Apr 2011

We saw the pictures on line..But once you see the house with your own eyes the pictures don't tell it all!!! We stayed at Glendon's home for one week the beginning of april...there were 3 couples and we fell in love with the house, the area, and Sedona!!! We cooked every night but one..relaxed on the lovely decks..had an outdoor fire in the outdoor pit...we all would rent this house again!!! Thank you Glendon for opening it up to be rented and thank you for your non- invasiveness!!!

“Perfection and seclusion in one”

Reviewed 14 Feb 2011

My wife and i just returned from visiting Glendon's home from a celebration of my 50th birthday. As a builder myself, i immediately recognized the incredible attention to detail of every facet of this comfortable, sleek contemporary dream home. As mentioned in other reviews, the views and location of the property are perfect. Great light everywhere in the house and every amenity you could ask for from flat screen hd tv to ipod imputs on stereo, firepit, hard line fueled large bbq grill, outdoor tub, many decks & patios, comfortable beds, etc, etc. Glendon built not only the house but almost all of the furniture down to the hangers in the front closet - amazing. Great time and the house is big enough for three couples with three full bedrooms each with their own private bathroom. You will fall in love with this house and this place. We will never forget it..

“Awesome Location & Beautiful House”

Reviewed 19 Dec 2010

Enveloped by red rock, The Cliff House is an extraordinary house in an extraordinary location. We spent a week there in October, soaking up the beauty of the surroundings and relaxing in the thoughtfully designed space. Glendon is a phenomenal host. We were sad to have to leave at the end of our stay and head back to reality. But, we'll be back, no doubt about it!!!

“You can't find a place like this! Excellent”

Reviewed 18 Dec 2010

We are three couples who have known each other for over 29 years. Glendon's place afforded us each a bedroom and a private bath, while giving us the gift of community space including DVD, Television, Barbecue, Fire-Pit, a large dining room and magnificent views of the peaceful Sedona formations. Glendon greeted us with six glasses and a fine bottle of wine as he toured us through the property. We looked forward to happy encounters with Charley and Cocoa, his twin chocolate labs. Glendon, after reviewing his requests for treating the property respectfully, was available but allowed us our own space. The property was remote but within minutes of restaurants and the uptown area. You couldn't ask for a more peaceful and accomodating property. Most importantly, Glendon quickly and readily returned our security deposit in full. Both my wife and I agree, we would stay here again (and again and again and again)!

“Spectacular house rises out of the Red Rocks”

Reviewed 17 Dec 2010

This spectacular house literally rises out of the Red Rocks of Sedona. It's so quiet you can hear the birds in the morning. Absolutely awe-inspiring, private and luxurious! You're no longer a visitor here - the decks, outdoor tub and fire pit make you part of Sedona's amazing landscape. This elegant and serene residence literally recharges your batteries while you sleep - don't miss it!
