“B&K's Condo at Kona Reef - as good as ever”

Reviewed 24 Mar 2015

We've stayed at Bruce's condo 3 times and it is still our best bet on the Kona side - truly oceanfront and at a great price. You can't beat the view and we love being on the 3rd floor watching the dolphins, turtles, whales and surfers. He has everthing we need for the beach and for preparing food in the condo. We probably spend most of our time on the lanai enjoying the view. Love that it is such a close walk to town yet not right in town. We're already planning a return for next year!

“You want it all? You got it”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2014

You want a well stocked kitchen? You want all the equipment for water sports and beach visits? You want a view from your lanai that is better than any restaurant? You want a fully eqipped, updated, fully furnished condo? You want a great pool and BBQ's as well as a glorious front lawn area? You have it all at this place. Nothing was missing, and we were there for almost 6 weeks. The owners take personal pride in the upkeep, and the property manager is right there to help you. With the centre of Kona only a 10 minute walk, you can see and do so much even without a car. The turtles are munching away right below your lanai; the dolphins are spinning across the bay; and surfers right in front, so you don't even really have to move if you don't want to (except to cook the food on the BBQ). One of the neatest places to visit is the Old Kona Airport, just over 1 mile away. You drive along the runway to either the gardens and walking path on the right or to the beautiful beaches with all the facilities on the left. Driving on an old runway is definitrly wierd! This really is the perfect place to enjoy the holiday that can be busy or relaxing. The loudest noise of all is the glorious surf outside your window.

“Perfect location!”

This is a fantastic place to stay! You may never leave the lanai. The view is incredible. Watched the dolphins while drinking our morning coffee and saw a small sea turtle in the tide pools most mornings. The condo has everything you need except for coffee. Make sure to pick some up at the local market on the way in. We would definitely stay here again.

“A great relaxing vacation!”

Bruce and Karrie We so enjoyed our stay at your condo! I think because of your generosity with your equipment and because the condo is so well stocked, I really felt like it was owned by family. I have never felt like that before in any condo. Thank you so much. I would definitely stay there again if we go back to Kona.

“Great site, organized & helpful owner”

Reviewed 19 Dec 2012

We stayed at B&K; Condo for 6 nights. It was our first trip to Kona and the Big Island. We were pleasantly surprised to find we were within 2 blocks walk of the little village of Kailua. Check out the daily "farmers market" for great fruits and veggies, all reasonably priced and some you may not have seen before (really big avocados). The ocean view restaurants such as Bongo Ben's are also reasonably priced. We were happy to find the condo and view looked exactly as shown in the photos! Bruce's directions from the airport work great, as does the lockbox for key entry. The bed is comfortable. We loved all the little extras that just make "living" in a one week rental so much easier -- laundry detergent, plastic wrap, paper towels. Bruce is very organized. He contacted us prior to our departure to see if we needed any additional information. He promptly refunded our damage deposit. We will definitely contact B&K; again if we visit Kona and will highly recommend the condo to other visitors. If you like snorkeling, consider a night time manta ray snorkel. It looks fascinating ... we booked 3 nights but the weather was too rough and tours were cancelled. If you like seeing how food is grown, take a coffee farm tour (whether or not you drink coffee). Try Hula Daddy's Coffee Farm near Kailua if you want "boutique" coffee.

“Kona in October”

We came to the Big Island for Hawaii Ironman week. Loved the condo it was clean, comfortable and well stocked right down to beach towels, chairs etc. Some distance from bigger shops eg Safeway but taxi service was fast & reliable when required. The location & views were magic. Bruce was extremely helpful, check in and out easy. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

“We love this place!!”

Reviewed 24 Sep 2012

We are from alaska where it is cold and there are no bugs. This condo provided us a place to stay that was so comfortable and clean. We didn't see any bugs and the air conditioning was so pleasant. We drove around the island a lot and Kailua was such a great place for our home base. It is a great little town with lots to see. And the condo was right on the beach, you can literally feel the ocean spray from the lanai. We loved it!

“Wonderful vacation”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2012

We enjoyed a month in this lovely Kona home and plan on returning for a longer stay next time. The location, the view, the amenities, the support from the local manager all combine to make B$K's Kona Reef an ideal place to vacation. We particularly enjoyed the musical opportunities for listening and for playing. The photos are very representative of the property. Peter & Linda
