“Nice home but needs some small changes”
This home is very large and new so it is great for a big family. It has nice views of the bay from several decks and the kitchen particularly is great. On the downside, it almost felt like we were staying in a suburban home and not a vacation house, and as many reviewers have noted there really needs to be blinds added to the bedrooms facing the parking areas and also to the windows in the master bedroom. The sun shines right in the morning and in those rooms there is a real fishbowl feeling. Also, even though the neighbors were nice to say hello to the homes in this complex have little separation on the decks from the neighbors. There are shutters that separate on the main level, but not on the top level. And even with the shutters the neighbors had people over a couple times and the conversation, cigarette smoke etc kept us from the porch. It is a ten-15 minute or so drive to the state beaches but felt a bit longer since the complex is a bit out of the way. The house in general was clean however the beds didn't feel so. The comforters were a bit stained and when I was making one of the bunk beds up I found a magazine underneath the comforter, clearly housekeeping was not completely attentive. I washed the mattress covers and of course we used only the bedding we brought. There is nothing but the comforters so renters do need to bring both sheets and blankets. Also, we were told there would be furniture on the master bedroom deck but there was not, just one chair from below was placed up there. So that deck in particular didn't encourage lingering. For such a new property it was a shame to note that there were stains on the carpet, a hole in the wall near the garage door, scraping on the walls and the wallpaper peeling in the master bath, but I guess that is to be expected with a rental. It is a comfortable house but adding the blinds, patio furniture to the top deck and lower patio etc would make it even better.
“Enjoyable but needs a bit of TLC”
We loved this house and the location where far from Bethany was delightful with beautiful views and lots of space. However, upon our arrival it was evident that the cleaning crew had done very little but change toilet paper and wipe up a few things. The house was very dusty, each room had significant dust on ll furniture, the rugs were very dirty,as was the furniture, windows were filthy which was ashame with the great view. Water poured in from poorly caulked door frames during a heavy rain. As has been mentioned since 2010, their are only sheers on bedroom windows and some windows in bedrooms have nothing...a peep show in the making. Sun is shining in at an early summer sunrise. 5am! We had a fun week after cleaning things up a bit. The screened porch is great, however four chairs and a small round table being the only outdoor furniture for a house that sleeps 10 people seems a bit sparce, there was no furniture on the master bedroom porch which of course is disappointing! It would be nice to have coffee out there! The grill is falling apart. There is no ash catcher, we found it a bit dangerous with ash coming onto deck fire hot! Lastly, every door in the house reveals holes in the walls behind the handle. Again, a little TLC with done stops and repair would not be difficult
“Wonderful townhouse in a great area”
Loved this townhouse, plenty of room clean pet friendly. It was great, and close to Behtany Beach which is a great beach town. Reason I scored it at 4 stars instead of 5 is issues with DVD and applicances. Unit advertised 2 DVD players, only one was there and that did not work. I brought Dvd's for the kids and had no player. Also we had issues with the refrigerator - freezer did not owrk properly, repairman did come and repair on tuesday.
The house was everything we expected and more. The view was fantastic and the house was great.
My whole family was able to fit in this lovely house. It had a great view and was very clean. It's a bit further from the beach than other places we've rented in the past, but it wasn't too far and there were a lot of conveniences like a Harris Teeter nearby. We will definitely look into renting it again in the future.
“Great Fall Vacation”
We really enjoyed our stay on Jump Lane. We had nice weather, watched fishing boats zoom by, and saw blue herons every day. It was so nice to bring our dog with us! He loved the beach. The community was quiet and a nice place for walks. The home was well apointed. Wish some windows had better cover. It was a little bright in the morning. It would also be nice to have tv in downstairs bedroom. Wilgus was easy to work with.
“best house ever”
we had a great time we couldn't ask for more were all ready talking about doing it a gain next year
The place itself was fabulous! Clean, and spacious! The views were awesome nature abounds! The kitchen was well stocked with the appropriate appliances and equipment. The master bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and crabbing off the dock. It was great to have a pet friendly location. The garage was an added bonus! The neighbors were quite friendly too. A few suggestions: Need fans in dining area and on the rear screened in deck portion. Deck furniture off the master would be a nice improvement. Several lightswitches were not identifiable, lights had burned out bulbs or fixtures did not work. (screened in porch) There are lots and lots of stairs. The half bath needs curtains as it is at the front and the commode is adjacent to the window. Peep show in the making. The washer has succombed to the moldy smell of most front load large capacity washers.
“Spacious Townhouse with gorgeous views”
This was a beautiful townhouse with wonderful bay views from a screened porch. Not close to the ocean if you want to go to the beach every day, but very reasonable priced for a lovely and large place to stay in the beach area. Liked that it was pet friendly!
“We enjoyed our stay, but were frustrated with Wilgus personnel.”
We chose this home because of the fact that we could bring our dog with us. It looked new and clean from the website, but what we found when we arrived was a home that was not very clean at all. We did call and report the fact that it didn't look like it had been cleaned, so hopefully this was remedied for the next week. We also had problems with the internet connection when we arrived, and then later in the week the cable was totally out due to a contractor cutting the line. When we call Wilgus, a rude employee told my husband he would have to call MediaComm himself. When he called back someone else at Wilgus told him it was a different cable provider. It was out for over 24-hours, which made it difficult for him to get some important work done. I realize things happen that are out of your control sometimes, but to be treated like my husband was is unacceptable. We will definitely not return to this property and I'm unsure if we'll rent from Wilgus again. When I checked out, the employee at the desk didn't even ask how my stay was. Wilgus could use some better customer service all the way around.
