“Perfect for our weekend away!”
This townhouse was perfect for our weekend away! It was walking distance to the beach, Boardwalk, town, and had a pool, tennis and a play area for the kids! It backed up to the highway, but has trees between the house and highway, along with a nice deck with a grill so the noise was not noticeable. There is also an outdoor shower, which the kids loved! We had a great exoerience. We will rent it again next year!
“Vacation Rental Home”
We were somewhat limited as to what we could fit in and out of our car such as bikes, beach chairs, etc. Once we arrived we became pleasantly surprised that the home was well stocked with xtra bikes, beach chairs and cart, boogey boards, fishing gear, and beer pong table. The community pool was refreshing after a hot stay at the beach.. Having the xtra bikes made it easier and fun to get around where we wanted to go. The home is located in a cul-de-sac which is ideal for families with children and 3 blocks away from the beach. It was clean, orderly, and I liked the tropical colors and decor. Kitchen is small which is fine since were there on vacation the purpose is not to stay there long. Things I wish it had but not a deal breaker; a fridge w/ an automatic ice maker and the bathroom fan was not working properly (very noisy and loud) which I mentioned to the rental agency. Overall, according to the family they voted it was best place we've stayed so far.
“nice house, nice location”
we have stayed at bethany proper for a few years every summer. only complaint is a broken window sash in the kitchen and tiny ants that would get in. otherwise very enjoyable stay...
“Great location, not cleaned.”
This is the second year we have rented Whitmer and both years, the dead bolt was locked. Last year it wasn't really an issue as the offices were open, so we were able to get in right away, after collecting the keys. This year however, we had major traffic issues, and arrived at 5:15 pm or so, and no way tio get in. I phoned tha contact number, and were let in by a locksmith at around 7:00 pm or so.The agent I spoke to said she "had a feeling that's what you were going to say". That being the case, why wouldn't someone have checked to see if the door was unlocked? After all of that, the unit had not been cleaned. It was really very dirty, cobwebs, copious amounts of animal hair (we had none along) in the beds under the comforters, in, on and under the furniture. The toilets were dirty as well as the kitchen sticky. We did have the cleaners in on sunday, but they couldn't do a thorough job as we were in and a full house. No one at your office seemed to be suprised or even concerned at both these issues at the time. We have been in three different Bethany Proper homes over the last 17 years, this being by far the worst experience yet. We love the location, size and layout but we will have a lot to consider before booking for next year. Thank you for "listening"
Response from the manager Thank you for your feedback. We do apologize that the owner's guest that you followed (two years in a row) locked the deadbolt (again) and left the unit in less than perfect condition. I have spoken with the owner and she assures me that this will NOT happen again. While we do have an after-hours emergency number, it is done on a volunteer basis. Most calls can be handled over the phone, and in this instance, no one was available to drive back to the office to open the door so a locksmith was called. Again we apologize for the inconvienence.
