“#35 Nicest Rental Unit in Kings Grant”
We've been staying at Kings Grant since 1998. This was our first time at #35. The unit is much better than the others we have rented. *The only drawback and this DOES NOT pertain to Wilgus and/or the homeowners - the beach at Kings Grant is changing and not for the better. In the past few years we've witnessed people being dropped off in the parking lot and cutting thru Kings Grant in order to access the beach. Cars from other locations park there and access the beach. Warning notices are posted on the windshields but I have not seen a violator towed yet. And Delaware grants sports fishing permits to anyone with $65. and a pick up truck. In the past five years the trucks parked on the beach in front of Kings Grant have increased greatly. I asked a Park Police Officer on an ATV why. His reply was (paraphrasing) these are people who do not want to be on the public beach. They pay the annual fee so they can have the same beach perks (sunbathing, swimming in the ocean, etc.) as those renting units at Kings Grant and elsewhere. He said the actual "sport" has not increased in popularity and as long as someone in their party looks like they're fishing when the Police make the rounds they're entitled to have their vehicle on the beach. This year the litter, oil leakage, cigarette smoking (albeit illegal in Delaware), urinating next to vehicles and changing clothes was at its highest level I've witnessed. This will impact future vacation decisions made regarding being so close to beach access points.
“Lovely beach front home”
Our rental townhome was very relaxing. Lots of room for two families with children. Lots of games and books and tons of seashells everywhere. Kids loved the third floor bedroom that was their hang-out. Kitchen and bathrooms were updated and decent. The unit is not real child friendly since too many breakable knick knacks in every room but we managed. Also, the unit needs a couple of good non-stick fry pans and children's drinking glasses. Would be nice to have TV in second bedroom. We loved the beach--sure beats the crowds that you find elsewhere in Bethany and OC. The guys surf fished every day. They pulled out some interesting marine life!! The ocean was a little rough at first but calmed out for the rest of the week and the kids were able to go in. No lifeguards. Lots of horseshoe crabs around if you don't mind those. We drove each day to the pool across the street since we did not want to cross the highway. The kids loved the pool and the sunset bay views are gorgeous. Glad we chose to stay here. Close to everything but not crowded!
“grand opportunity for connection with family”
We are lovers of ocean, beach and each other, The unit was more than adequate on all counts. I prefer the 2:00 check in we have experienced at Caldwell Banker. The low toilets with no grab bar made a problem for older folks. Joan anderson
“It's a wonderful beachfront location.”
Love the location and multi levels of the home, but the bathrooms and kitchen floor could use a bit of an upgrade.
The staff at Wilgus Realty were efficient and helpful. The check in and out was very easy. The condo was well stocked with all that was needed. The location was ideal. The only drawback was the truck traffic on the beach. Children needed to be watched carefully.
House keeping was terrible. There was sand in the bathrooms in the corners. The bath tubs didn't even look like they were cleaned from the prior people. There was finger prints on the sliding glass door going out to the ocean front deck. The kitchen needs more pots and pans. There was a lot of mixed match pieces. I do not hold this against Wilgus.
“Stay Beachside with no Crowds in Fenwick Island”
All interactions with the Wilgus associates Rental Office were excellent. Check in and check-out was extremely efficient and the staff was very friendly. Note that you only have a two hour window to pick up the keys on Saturday check in day. This will be a critical review because at this rental price point, I expect near perfection. There is no close public access to the beach in this area, so it feels like the beach is reserved for the unit owners of private properties in that area. You can walk across the divided four-lane highway to a very nice pool and a little dock on the bay side. 35 Kings Grant has four bedrooms, a den with a sofa bed, and four full baths. Ocean view from every window in the back of the unit. Rear deck with patio furniture. Walk off the deck and down to the beach across one of two wooden walkways that cross the protected dunes. The townhouse looks like the owners left for the day and only took their clothes. You will find everything else you need in the drawers except for food. You will even find spices, salt, pepper, etc. in the kitchen. Beach chairs, a beach umbrella, and some frisbees are located in the storage unit below the unit. Numerous books are located throughout the unit for you to read. This is a very nice unit, except for: (1) There is a grill located below the unit. We like to cookout, unfortunately this grill was a big disappointment. Only the back half of the burners worked and it was totally rusted out. At this price point, I consider this to be totally unacceptable. (2) Only two of the four main bedrooms had TVs. This, too, was a big disappointment for late evenings when everyone wanted to retire to their room and watch TV. (3) The carpeting in the living room/dining room area was a little disgusting. I would not expect to see so many stains on it. In the kitchen you will find travel brochures, coupon books, and maps. You get two assigned parking spaces and there are several more unmarked spaces for guests.
“This is our 13th year in this unit. We look forward to returning”
my family looks forward o our Fenwick vacation. it is like going home. best vacations we have ever enjoyed.
“great location and accomadations”
This is a great rental. very well appointed. very homey, and well kept.
“Sharing someones home”
Beautifull condo. Layout is comfortable. This condo is exceptionally well supplied. Location to the beach is excellent and the pool is a bonus, but you have to cross a 4 lane highway to get there. Every table and shelf is covered with the owners personal items, so this is not a good place for children. The beach is not guarded. This unit's location requires a car trip to buy or do anything.
