“Great place...comfortable for family and dog!”
Location was great! Pool was fantastic! House was nice stocked with dishes, rugs and such. The house was very clean. The house furniture was outdated, old, mixed matched and uncomfortable (beds were old and hard) however, felt like the dog couldn't hurt anything since the furniture was older. The inside deck was mostly too hot to sit on because the air condition unit was outside the deck. Would be nicer during spring and fall I suppose. The rental company were very nice and helpful during all times of communication.
“A Little Disappointed”
The condo is in a beautiful area and had plenty of room for my family. It's a very nice condo, but whoever they have come in to clean it is doing a terrible job! I spilled water on the floor and when I cleaned it up my paper towel was black...and I mean BLACK! All the floors felt sticky too. I ended up cleaning the kitchen floor! The porch (which is so nice to sit on in the evenings) had cobwebs everywhere and I had to sweep the floor. The gas grill didn't work right and then ran out of gas after one meal! And I had to wash the cover on the sofa because it was all full of dog hair...and it wasn't our dog. I saw it as soon as we walked in. Change cleaning services and it would be a great place!
The house was quite charming and very clean, with comfortable, sturdy and pleasing furnishings. We loved all the books, art posters, and games. The furniture was neither cheap nor so very fine that we worried about using it (one year we stayed at a place that had white furniture--that was a nightmare). Everything worked as billed (A/C, wifi, cable, appliances) and we didn't have to hunt for outlets. More and bigger drawers so clothes could be put away would be nice, but I can't fault a home owner who chooses bookshelves over clothes! The location was very pleasant, and a nice walk without being unmanageable (I wouldn't want to haul chairs or coolers, but then again, who does?) The pool was a nice size for an after-beach dip, and well located to get both sun and shade, though a couple of times there was a white powder floating on the surface. The "fully appointed kitchen" mentioned in the listing had the basics but nothing special. We had to buy a spatula, in fact, in order to fry eggs. I've also never rented a place without so much as a square of tp left behind. Be sure to bring *everything* you need, as there really are *no* supplies. We were given some incorrect instructions at the rental office about parking our (unexpected) third vehicle (we were told to park at the circle, which turned out to be prohibited by the town, and that it was generally first-come-first-serve, which got us spoken to very rudely by one of the neighboring homeowners on our last day). Also, heed the clause on your contract that says the cleaners have access till 8 pm. They're not kidding. All in all, though, it was a very nice rental that was a comfortable place to come home to, and which didn't intrude on our vacation in any substantial way.
This place was much more then we expected it to be. It was a short walk to the beach, had all the comforts of home and was a awesome deal. The dogs were comfortable and so were we. We will be returning next year for an awesome week at the Beach. Thanks Wilgus!!
“Not sure Bethany is family vacation spot for me anymore.”
Have enjoyed vacationing in Bethany for more than 30 years, but this summer's trip was not as pleasant. Bethany has become very dog unfriendly. Even though I am a very considerate dog owner and paid extra to rent a place that allows pets, I got yelled at by the caretaker at the library for walking my dog in the field behind the library even though no signs were posted prohibiting dogs. Also got yelled at and threatened by a woman for taking my dog in the grassy common area of the complex - again no signs prohibiting dogs. Dogs are not allowed at all on beach or boardwalk. Wilgus was great to work with...very friendly and efficient - just think that people need to know that it would be better to leave the pet at home if you're staying in Bethany Beach or else risk an unpleasant vacation.
“A nice vacation with our doggie!”
We were very pleased with this property! Had plenty of the "comforts of home." We loved being able to bring our dog with us. The community pool also was well-maintained. It was a tad farther from the beach than we had hoped, but overall, we were happy!
“Great Beach Vacation!”
We were pleasantly surprised at how nice this property was, since it was available on short notice in high season. It is a great place to stay with young kids. Quiet neighborhood, plenty of space, and a nicely appointed kitchen and washer/dryer. The only drawback is the distance from the beach (four long blocks -- can't do it with kids as young as ours), but we are early risers and always found a parking space in beach block. (Free parking in some areas with the provided parking permit.) Overall, it was a good value for the time of year and location.
Very clean, pet friendly, very well kept pool, everyone around very nice. A little farther from the beach than I would have liked to stay...but very scenic walk.
“Happy in Delaware”
Our family of 2 adults, a 12 and 17 yr old and dogs enjoyed our stay at this comfortable townhouse, a 5 block (15 min) walk to a very clean beach. Close to boardwalk and shops. It has a complete kitchen, washer, dryer, outdoor shower, well-kept swimming pool, games and ample areas to walk the dogs. Owner is clearly a fan of opera with many CDs and books available. A lot to see in the area, Life-Saving Station, Ward Decoy Museum, etc. as well as tax-free shopping outlets. If I had to mention a negative it would be that the sea-green carpeting could have used a cleaning. Although I am sure it had been spot treated since there was absolutly no pet smells, there was evidence of previous furry residents. Overall we had a great time and would rent again.
“Thank god for dog lovers”
Was nice to have a house that a dog lives in. While our dogs are house trained and well behaved, it was still a plus to have a house that has owners who understand the idea of dog ownership. I felt completely relaxed having my dogs in this house and would recommend it to any dog owners.
