Very Good

“Nice complex but the unit could use some work”

Reviewed 17 Feb 2017

We enjoyed our stay in Maui and the space of Koa Resort 4F, but we have some suggestions for improvements. A little more information about the location of the unit would be helpful for arrival. There didn't seem to be a pattern with the numbering system, so we wandered around the complex until we found 4F. It would help to have a cooler, beach chairs, and some pool toys in the unit. We were told there would be a cooler and beach chairs and were disappointed that we had to buy them during our stay. The unit could also use some maintenance. Since neither sliding glass door locked, we had to place a piece of wood (downstairs) or pole (upstairs) in the track as a makeshift lock. The tile was coming off in the showers and the tub didn't drain properly. The kitchen was well stocked, and the community grill was a nice feature. There were so many good places to eat on Maui that we only cooked one dinner at the condo. The twin beds and furniture were not comfortable, but the main bed was. The pool and grounds were nice and the lanai had a lot of space, but pool maintenance began soon after we arrived. There was a lot of noise from the work and the hot tub was out of service.

“Stay away!!”

Reviewed 11 Jan 2014

We stayed here for 10 days during Christmas for a family reunion. We were looking forward to our stay at this condo, however,we were greatly disappointed. The condo is filthy (see the pictures) and is in great need of an update. The condo has two bedrooms and a loft. In the master bedroom the king bed had a blood stain on the blanket and the shower had broken tiles and had mold in between the tiles. Behind the king bed was about 30 years of dust/dirt build-up. All the furniture in the condo is old and needs to be replaced. The green carpet throughout was stained and dirty. In the living room there was a large sticky stain on the carpet under the coffee table. The carpet needs to replaced. The couches and chairs were very dirty and stained. The bathtub was filthy--we wore our sandals to shower. There was also mold on the walls. The kitchen was old and is also in need of an update and was missing the trim. All the downstairs bathrooms had mold and missing/broken tiles. The place even smelled old. The worst part was there was no a/C--it was so hot. We had a really hard time sleeping because it was so hot and muggy. The windows are the original slat windows. The slatted windows in the bedrooms and living room made it louder than we liked. If they would remodel this place and replace the windows, it could be a great place to stay, however, this place was a huge let down. We will never stay here again. For $30 more a night we could have gotten a way nicer place--and it would have been worth it. We tried to call and complain a few times to get people to come replace our blanket and clean the tub/carpets, but no one answered the phone. Do yourself a favor and find another condo!

“Having a great time with the family @ The Koa Resort”

Reviewed 19 Jun 2013

We had a great time staying @ the Resort, its location is perfect with shopping centers & good places to eat. The unit was perfect for the family and the pool was perfect right out the door. We will be back again & again & again. Mahalo for our great family trip to Maui.

“A place that offers so much more.”

Loved the condo, accommodated all of our families needs. loved the privacy and the fact that it was affordable. It was our second time staying at the KOa resort and it won't be the last!

“spacious unit”

Reviewed 7 Jun 2012

Koa Resort is a great property. This unit 4F is very spacious, but could use a complete renovation.

“Lovely quiet resort in great location!”

Reviewed 18 Apr 2012

We stayed here with two other couples. The unit was spacious and comfortable. Great pool and hot tub. Loved the central location for easy traveling on the island. We would definitely stay here again.

“A great pre-Christmas vacation!”

Reviewed 13 Feb 2011

The rates were great! The accomodations were very accomodating for our group. The only negative was the noise/acativity from somewhere nextdoor in the middle of the night!! That was very unpleasant. But, I can bring earplugs next time. The location was very acceptable, near enough to the beach to walk everyday. Quite centrally located in order to reach most parts of the island easily. Very enjoyable and we will probably come again.

“Good for the family”

Reviewed 12 Jan 2010

Our family came from Alaska and stayed at Koa resort 4F. My wife and I travel with 4 daughters and some heavy bags. The condo is in North Kehei where beaches are more for walking than swimming. The resort grounds are great for condo atmosphere. The pool has a few strict rules for the kids, but the grounds are well maintained and clean. The condo has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms which was nice for the family. It is dated, but the price we rented the unit for is in line with the furnishings. All appliances worked well (Including the washer and dryer) and the ceiling fans. I was nervous of no air conditioning, but at the end of December it was not needed. The location of the condo in Maui is good for the family that like’s variety. Costco is 20 minutes away to the North, Lahina is 25 minutes to the West and 10 minutes to the great beaches/snorkeing of Wailea and Makena to south. Our family rented 3 condos from Bello Reality over the Christmas Holiday all at Koa and was able all stay together (with separation!) on the same grounds for a good price. The people at Bello Reality, Jason and Pam were very professional and helpful. Bottom line, Koa 4F is for the family of 4 or more looking for a good deal on a Maui Condo that are looking to spend most of their time traveling the island. We enjoyed our trip and would stay at this condo again!

“Outdated & dirty, no washer and dryer, towels stunk of mildew!”

Reviewed 13 Dec 2009

We stayed here Nov 26th. - Dec 7th 2009. Place was large and had great access to pool and really nice lanai but furniture is way outdated, linens and towels stunk of mildew, there was no washer and dryer as stated in add and bathroom tile needs cleaning or updating! I would not recomend this place to anyone! We called Bello realty to complain the first day we arrived and we got a call back and were told if we needed to wash clothes we could use unit "4I". We went to this unit and OMG what a nice place, this is more of what we expected! So we asked if we could move. Bello realty alowed us to move, thanks again Adrian! 4I is the place to stay! Stay away from 4F!!!! I lease out my home in Houston, TX with all bills paid and fully furnished and I take very good care of my place. The owners of 4F in my opinion are robbing people, outdated, cheap linens and beds, disgusting green carpet and little broken stuff all over the unit! Don't be fooled by Bello realty or the photos of the place online, not what you would expect! Besies Adrian from Bello realty letting us move to a more modern clean and amenity full unit. We had calls into Bello realty that never got returned and they never answer their phone. Vacationer beware! If we had to rate this place on a scale of 1-10 we would give it a 2 since it is in a great location and very open floorplan. With upgrades and remodel this could be one of the nicest units in the complex! Oh yeah don't be fooled by the word "RESORT" This is a residential old folk community, the pool and hot tub close at 9pm and the property manager is not a very nice guy, was rude to us on several ocassions. I reccomend going elsewhere! Dont waste your money!

“The dump”

Reviewed 6 Nov 2009

This unit is in serious need of an upgrade. The drapes in the loft are in tatters, hanging in shreds. The dryer was not working and was not fixed during our week there. The towels are ratty, thin, and should be discarded. An overall sense of grunge was felt. I think house keeping did the best they could as far as the cleaning. Furniture on the lanaii needs to be replaced. Seriously, owners, you need to address this. Will not stay there again. Swimming pool area and pool and grounds nice.
