“Great family fishing getaway.”
We love staying here! Big enough for a large family, and pet friendly. All appliances and boat lifts work. The flooring in the main house has been redone, except for the bedrooms. Hope they redo them next. Kitchen needs a vent, and the master bathroom does not have a door, but it's secluded from the rest of the house. The deck is awesome, and we love grilling out there. Great place to stay!
“Hard to beat this location, its got it all.”
We spent Thanksgiving vacation here with the family and everyone really loved this place. Watching the barges go by is really cool especially if you don't live anywhere near the coast. Everything about the house is good, well equipped and clean, really nice.
“Great view of the ICW”
Nice place with a great view of the ICW from the front deck. Very convenient location and is within walking distance from Froggie's and Cathy's restaurant. If you rent the lower room it is a little musty smelling. The main house is very nice and clean and has a great kitchen and living area.
“Great time had by all.”
We rented the entire house and really, really enjoyed it. After renting various water front condos every summer for the last 10+ years and trying to cram a large family into them, this was a great house for us. We had a great time, and loved all the space to stretch out (and the air conditioning really works). Just having a washer and dryer handy after being out and about on the water all day is a great bonus. There is plenty of parking for everybody (and their boat trailers). We didn't have the same issue as the previous reviewer, we never saw the owner, or any nosy neighbors while we were down. We did manage to catch a few fish at night off the pier, there is a green light down there that the trout and reds like to bust bait in. There are plenty of water hoses for boat clean up and fish cleaning. A few of the sheet sets could use replacing. The kids loved running around on the decks, watching boats going by, and pointing out all the porpoise hanging around. Grandparents enjoyed sitting out on the main deck with a book, and we all enjoyed grilling out there. If I could make three suggestions they would be: 1. A vent for the kitchen. We did a lot of cooking (the kitchen is awesome, great for big groups to spread out in) and were really missing a way to clear the air. 2. A door for the master bathroom (it's a great size, with a nice, big tub). We had a big group down there, and would have liked being able to use the bathroom (post beach trip clean ups) without locking everyone out of the bedroom. 3. An outdoor shower. It doesn't need to be anything fancy, a shower head pointed over the yard would've worked just fine, but being able to chunk the kids under an outdoor shower before they went inside to clean up would've kept us from having to sweep so much! Our group had a great time, hope to do it again soon!
“Nice but nosy...”
We have stayed at just about every home on the water wtih Tigrett and they have all been wonderful. That is why we keep coming back every year, more than 3 times per year. We stayed at the Ginny's on the ICW last week and once we arrived the owner of the home was there, moving his things into the bottom house. He expected to stay there that week with other family members when we booked the whole house. It took some explaining but he finally left. The next day he showed up at the house bright and early to get his fishing gear out of his garage and didn't leave for another 2 hours, after lunch he arrived back at the house to unload and clean his fish. Another 2 hours. Throughout the whole week he either sat at the neighbors house staring at our group or brought in other boats loaded with people into the boat slips that our boats where parked in to hang out. We are nice people and don't mind anyone, especially fellow fisherman. But when we rent a house for a whole week and pay the rate, which isn't cheap, we do not want to be watched the entire week. It is not what we paid for. It is not relaxing always having to worry if the owner is going to get upset about something. We were not doing anything wrong but it was very uncomfortable. He was an extremely nice man but we will definately not be staying at that house again. If he wants to constantly be there he needs to not be renting it out.
“Very comfortable, with great view and all the amenities needed!”
The house is spacious and very comfortable with a really nice kitchen and living area---Large couches and big screen TV . It is located on the intercostal canal which affords a great view off the large deck. Very nice place to relax after fishing. It has a BBQ pit on the deck and an ice machine. Wonderful to not have to haul ice for the boat and large freezer for storage of fish. Boat lifts and cleaning table are included. Located close to restuarants, bait stores, boat ramps but large property with plenty of parking and privacy. Great place to have a great vacation !
Response from the manager As you can imagine, Ginny's is very popular with fishing parties. Ginny's has hosted reunion groups, and there are regular groups of fishermen that come annually to stay at Ginny's and enjoy the conveniences. Thanks for the great review!
The house has a great layout with a wide open and spacious kitchen and dining area. The added refrigeration and ice maker downstairs are also a plus and will save trips to the store.
Response from the manager Keith, thanks for the wonderful comments. We're happy you found Ginny's on the ICW to your liking. Indeed, the huge ice maker and refrigerator next to the dock is a real time saver and a great convenience. Hope you see you again soon!
