“relaxing and enjoyable as always.”

Reviewed 6 Mar 2014

we stay in this unit every winter and we love its location and ambiance. We hope to come back and stay in this unit for many years to come. it seems that we come back for a longer stay each year. There is no better way to escape the winter.

“A wonderful place to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary”

“Our 2ND home”

Reviewed 13 Jun 2013

I have been Comming to Kahana sunset since the 70s, and ever since my wife and I got married it is like our 2ND home. We have stayed in all six buildings, but it has been Bunnie's unit (B5B) that we have called home every may for the past 6-7 years. We discovered Sullivan properties, and there great people (Erin, Steve, & TIM), about 10 years ago,and they have made our trip just that much smoother. We have directed over 20 different people to Sullivan these past several years with the highest recommendation. We have even told people that live in the islands (my daughter) about Kanhana sunset thru Sullivan properties, and they seem to keep coming back... Mahalo Jeff & carol Jensen

“Location, location, location - this was the redeeming factor for”

Not only was this unit dated terribly, it was definitely not stocked as well as other condos we have rented on Maui in the past. The drawers and cabinets had a very musty smell to them. The old fans on the wall in the kitchen and in the bathroom were disgusting. The carpet was old and stained. The kitchen appliances, in general, were so old that we hesitated in using them. Our view of the ocean and close proximity to the beach was so beautiful, and that was what would bring us back.

“Best bang for your buck”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2012

We loved this unit and we loved Kahana Sunset! The grounds were kept immaculately clean and well manicured. The staff were always visible and so friendly! This unit has a beautiful view of the property, and is practically right on the beach. And for about half the price of other condos at Kaanapali. The other guests were all friendly and respected the quiet hours. We loved the use of the codes on the entry gates and front door, so we didn't need to carry keys. The beach is a beautiful cove that is great for swimming and playing. We had a blast watching the sea turtles too. The only thing that was a little surprising is that the sea-wall appears to be crumbling. They did a very good job of blocking off areas that were unsafe and this didn't keep us from using the beach. This unit hasn't been remodeled, but we appreciated the kitschy old-school Hawaiian decor and eventually acclimated to the lack of a/C. Having a full kitchen and washer/dryer were wonderful ammenities that we wouldn't have had in a hotel. We were able to save money by cooking many of our meals "at home". The washer/dryer allowed us to pack lightly and just do a load of laundry half-way through our trip. The only thing that impacted our stay (and this is truly minor!) was the entry light by the front door that shined directly into our bedroom all night. There is no switch for this light as it is a security light that is intended to help you see the keypad on the door at night. The people who stayed in the unit before us had unscrewed the bulb, but the staff was so attentive that they "fixed" it on our second night. Overall, this was an excellent experience and we plan to return.

“Third time is still like the first time.”
