“Great Stay!”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2013

We recently stayed here as a family, including my dad and two grown children. We all had a great time. The kids stayed down at the Cabin several nights. The house was perfect for us and with the attic fan the temperature was very nice! The only things that could have been improved upon was the walk down to the river was too steep for my dad. Also, we were excited about the "walking trails on 100 pristine acres" but could not find any trails. I emailed on Wednesday of our Monday to Monday stay inquiring about the trails but didn't hear back. We didn't call though and maybe the email was not a good choice on our part. Also, being near the river, there were a lot of bugs and several of the screens had holes. Once we figured out which windows to open and which to leave closed, our stay was much more pleasant! We would stay at this house again!!

“Relaxing and very comfortable”

I would rent this house again in a heart beat. We loved the home. It is remodeled to create a look of authenticity, yet it is comfort for the 21st century all the way from the fine bedding and huge bathrooms to the flat screen TV. Great setting on the creek although I found the trout illusive. Maybe next time they will take my fly!

“Exceeded all Expectations.”

This house and place are exceptional in every way. Beautiful beyond description. Comfortable and extremely well appointed in household amenities. The service from the cleaning team was outstanding in quality of cleaning and responsiveness to my request to come on a Sunday to clean for new guests coming in. My guests and I all feel this is about the best, most beautiful place we have ever been, and we have been a lot of places.

“Idyllic place in Big Sky State”

Thextondale is a lovely home away from home. It has superb access to fishing and is only a short drive from Ennis, and an hours drive from Bozeman. Yellowstone is a bit further away, but can be accessed for day trips if you don't mind the drive. If you are planning to cook, suggest stocking up on food on the way in (Albertson's or Rosauer in Bozeman). Ennis has a supermarket, but does not stock a wide variety of items. The house sleeps six people comfortably and provides good facilities for home cooking, including a gas BBQ. We have now stayed here two times and love the location and the house itself. Thoroughly recommend it if you are into fly-fishing, hiking, open space and the oudoors in general and want to sit by the river, watch the deer cross the river and enjoy the phenomenal sky!

“A lot of Madison Valley history in totally modern outfittings.”

Our stay at the Texdondale Homestead was a very relaxing week on a large Montana spread. The accommodations are first class and the scenery of the Madison Range unfolding at your doorstep is worth the trip alone. We fished Blaine Spring and managed to spend quality time on the adjoining cabn deck overlooking the valley floor with its abundant wildlife. A great place to layback, fish and enjoy quality time with your spouse.

My friends and I absolutely loved this property. The main house is beautiful and the view from the cabin out back is over the top.
