“Ok little cabin, a few basic improvements would make it great.”

Reviewed 12 Mar 2014

The cabin its self is a nice little cabin, with all the basic features 2 people need for a weekend getaway. Overall we enjoyed our stay, but there were a few issues with the cabin that I could see needing improvement. We arrived after dark, and there was not lighting out where we parked. So we had to stumble through the dark to get into the cabin. The next day I discovered there was an exterior light, but for some reason it wasn't working. And I never could find a light switch that controlled it. There is exterior lighting that worked after you got through the exterior gate, but it wasn't turned on when we first arrived. Maybe it was a factor of the below freezing temperatures, but the hot water in the shower only lasted a couple minutes, which was rather uncomfortable. And my final issue was with privacy. While the cabin its self is rather secluded, with privacy walls and fencing surrounding it, it could be improved. I say this because there are no shades over the front door, so if someone walked up they would see right in. And the patio doors in the bedroom loft only had a shear curtain, which could easily have been seen through if someone were to walk through the back yard for whatever reason. That made me uncomfortable.

Response from the manager So sorry that there were some issues during your stay. The hot water heater has been replaced in the house, and we've passed along your notes regarding the privacy and exterior lighting. Thank you for your feedback! Greybeard Rentals

“Great place for a couple to stay!”

Reviewed 19 Feb 2014

It was a wonderful get a away place especially for couples. We spent our 20 year wedding anniversary here. The only thing I wished for was a fireplace a bigger couch and the bathroom should be on the same floor as the bedroom. Other than a few things on my wish list for this place I would definitely recommend thus place for a cozy get a way for a couple.

“The perfect romantic getaway!”

Reviewed 26 Dec 2013

Looks as beautiful in person as the photos. It's not in the woods but more in a spacious subdivision, so it's easy to get to. Plenty of space for my husband, dog, and I to relax, and a good area to walk your dog around without having to worry about bears or other creatures. The rental company was also very easy to access and provided very clear instructions, as we arrived late at night. Very happy with this cabin and Greybeard!

“Migration Station?...or heaven”

Reviewed 26 Sep 2013

Migration Station is one of the most spectacular little hideaways I have been to. It is tucked away in the trees and has so many personal touches that make it stunning. A short drive to asheville and many mtn biking trails around, my girlfriend and I had a blast. In fact, we got engaged during our stay :) We will definitely be back to this beautiful place over and over again.

“Wonderful as Usual”

Reviewed 10 Jul 2013

This was our third or fourth stay at Migration Station. It is a wonderful couples getaway. Quiet and comfortable. The artistic work in the floors and on the cabinets is beautiful. The shower is a thing to admire. Since the first time we stayed there have been upgrades outside of the loft area with a great flagstone patio and walk with flowers adjacent to the deck. I would advise anyone wanting a quiet couples retreat but yet close to restaurants and nightlife to rent Migration Station.

“Beautiful!”

This cabin is truly beautiful and enchanting. You forget the world exists when you walk through the gate. We will definitely be returning!

“Peace & Quiet”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2013

We stayed in the unit for two nights. The location was good, although the whole of the first afternoon there were leaf blowers running on the property next store. The property had charm and we did enjoy using it, although it didnt meet our expectations. I felt it was a bit tired and could do with some tlc.

“beatiful and relaxing honeymoon getaway”

Reviewed 5 Dec 2012

We absolutely loved this mountain getaway. The beauty of the woodwork was breathtaking and made the perfect relaxing retreat. We loved to learn of how they help artists as well. We will be revisiting.

“Secluded, quiet and wonderful”

Reviewed 22 Jun 2012

My new husband and I were looking for a perfect place to honeymoon after all the chaos of the wedding. I can't even express how wonderful and perfect the wedding day was, but we were so ready to spend some quiet time together without obligation to talk to anyone else. Migration station was the perfect choice for our getaway, so private and relaxing. Sleeping in was not a problem, under the canopy of trees, the light was really subdued and other than nature, there were no disruptive noises. The house is really designed to spend more time outdoors that indoors which was right up our alley. The location was very good, short travel time to asheville, the Blue Ridge and hiking. My only complaint is that we arrived really late after spending 8 hours on the road and were exhaused - the clean bedding was left on the bed, not a huge deal but the last thing you want to do after a long trip is make a bed. Despite that, really did love our stay!

“Lovely, artistic house with amazing features.”

Reviewed 7 Jun 2012

We loved the gorgeous wood inlay in the floor and the beautiful loft. The house felt like a little magic treehouse.
