“Short but Sweet”

Reviewed 21 Nov 2013

The best day of the vacation was when I arrived, the worst day was when I left. Everything was exactly as shown and fabulous. Will definitely return.

“Had a wonderful weekend”

Reviewed 6 Nov 2013

We drove south and my best friend and her husband drove north to meet in Black Mountain for an autumn long weekend get-away. The cabin had everything we needed and the hot tub was wonderful after long days of area sight-seeing. The bedrooms in this cabin are upstairs so if you have difficulty with stairs, this cabin may not be for you. Cabin was clean and well cared for. We loved Black Mountain even more than ashville.

“Cozy”

Reviewed 25 Oct 2013

Cabin was nice. But we arrive Friday afternoon and the hot tub was a foot below so the jets shot water on deck. Saturday morning had to fill it up. Also hard to find some none on call. Flood lights were out made it hard to take our dogs out and see to get in to hot tub . It was not a true emergency but difficult in taking dogs out at night. Called at 8:00am and 10:00 am just happen the agent on call went in to check on something . And after 1:00pm return our call . Finally at 3:00pm on Saturday lights fix . Sunday hot tub was hot . Pull out of drive way at your own risk.

“Comfortable Cabin Near Black Mountain”

Reviewed 7 Oct 2013

My family and I stayed here this fall for our first visit to the asheville area. The cabin was charming and perfect for our small family. A few things, the description was not entirely accurate, which was both good and bad. There is a sleeper sofa and a grill (bonus!), but the kitchen was not well-equipped (there were no liquid measuring cups so I had to use my son's bottle). There was also a problem with the internet connection during our stay, which was frustrating because there is also very little cell reception at the house. But both the rental agency, Greybeard, and the owners were great about getting the internet fixed!

“Dangerous Driveway”

Reviewed 2 Oct 2013

The accommodations were very adequate, and the setting of Snowy Cove is quaint. But, the driveway is a nightmare. It's extremely steep, and pulling out on to the main road is very dangerous, as it is impossible to see if there is any oncoming traffic.

“Relaxing, private retreat!”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2013

Snowy Cove was a beautiful and clean home. We spent a week here for my birthday. The location was great, within 3 miles from Black Mountain, which it a cute little town. Great restaurants close by and also grocery stores. Plus within about 20 minutes to asheville, and several other local tourist attractions. Although there were other homes nearby, Snowy Cove is secluded and still private. The house sits just below the main road and you can hear a little road traffic, but the trees and mountain area still keep the house secluded and we were still able to relax peacefully in the hot tub every evening. Cell phone service was a little fuzzy, but with Verizon and standing in the right spot on the porch we were still able to make calls (could always forward calls to the house phone also). Had no problem with service once we got out of the driveway. Greybeard Rentals were also great to work with. Reservation process was quick & easy. Although we had a problem with the hot tub heating up the first night, they were quick to have someone look at it the next day and it was working again in no time. They also compensated us for the inconvenience with a gift card for a great restaurant in asheville. Would love to come back and will definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the asheville area. Would also recommend Tupelo Honey Cafe, Morning Glory Cafe, Black Mountain Bakery, Phil's BBQ Pit, Biltmore Estate Tours, Chimney Rock, and for the adrenalin junkies - Navitat zipline canopy tours are a must do!!!

“Beautiful cabin!”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2013

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Snowy Cove! We were in town for a family wedding, and wanted to stay someplace away from the crowds of the city. This cabin is tucked in the woods in a beautiful area. The cabin was very clean, and had all the comforts of home. The furniture and beds were all in great condition. The cabin was larger than I thought it would be, giving us plenty of space to relax. We would definitely consider returning to Snowy Cove and Black Mountain and found Greybeard Realty pleasant and professional to deal with.

“Clean and cosy cabin”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2013

Snowy Cove is located off Hwy 9, three miles up the mountain from Black Mountain. When you see the Eastern Continental Divide sign you are at the gravel road entrance which leads you to the cabin's private driveway, an incline but our Volvo had no trouble. The cabin is exactly like the pictures; very clean, upscale, and comfortable furniture. Downstairs includes a half bath and washer dryer combo in hall closet. The kitchen is well equipped, although with the many good restaurants in town our use was limited! We also liked the ease of the fireplace lit by a remote control, on or off. Wide and easy stairs lead you to the full bath and two bedrooms upstairs. Bath was lovely, but bedrooms were basic. They are carpeted and each has a queen bed, a nightstand, and ceiling fan. (One has a flat screen TV). Closet to hang clothes but no chest for storage. Beds were comfy and the quiet location was great for sleeping. We enjoyed the rocking chairs on the porch and the hot tub. Nice border landscaping by hot tub keeps it private. We were always happy to return to Snowy Cove each day and would book it again.

“Relaxation! But close to everything!”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2013

Everything about this cabin was wonderful! From the ease of picking up our key from the rental agency to the cleanliness and comfort of the cabin. We really loved that it's a bit off the beaten path but you're only 3 miles from Black Mountain and about 20 minutes to asheville. We spent a good amount of time just relaxing, cooking and hanging out. This cabin is stellar for all 3. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds were comfy and my husband really enjoyed hanging out in the lazy boy chair and reading or watching tv. We also enjoyed the grill and hot tub that they supplied. They emptied and cleaned the hot tub the day before we arrived, which we thought was awesome. And the house was spotless! Kudos to the cleaning crew that they use! We had some good storms when we were in the cabin and it was awesome to fall asleep listening to the rain patter on the roof. All in all we loved our getaway here and hope to return next year!
