“Great, convenient location”
Renee' was very helpful and patience when with me when I was making my reservation in recommending a house in an area that would be easy to get to since we had a lot of planned activity requiring us to be in and out over our long week-end. We arrived on Friday, after the office closed. Our key was there and it was easy to find the house, based on the directions. When we arrived we were please to find a delicious loaf of banana bread, a roll of paper towels and a role of tissue paper to get us started. Also, there was liquid dishwashing detergent, dishwashing detergent for the dishwasher, and laundry detergent/fabric softener sheets. We did find the patio a mess, covered in leaves and grime, only 4 washcloths for 8 people, soiled bedspread in master and trouble getting connected to Wi-Fi and the TV (our son was able to figure it out for us. When we tried the next morning to call the office it did not direct us to an extension so we just left a voicemail. So, that being said, my husband and son cleaned the patio so we could use it to grill out(and we gave out of gas before we completely finished cooking), and washed the bedspread and washed washcloths between showers. We also went out and got a few light bulbs to replace some lamps that were out. When I turned in the keys they were very apologetic about not getting our call until Mon and told me that if I had gone to an extension and left a message, someone was always on call and would have called me back. Recommendation is to provide that in writing on the information renters receive regarding checking in and out, only the number of the office was available. All of that being said, we loved the development, the home was very comfortable for all of us, loved the front porch, especially in the morning when having a cup of coffee and the evening when having a glass of wine. We have a son who lives in the area so will definitely be using Greybeard again! Thanks Greybeard and Renee'

My family and I really enjoyed the Hatton House. It's in a beautiful planned community convenient to just about anywhere in the asheville area. The home was very nicely appointed, comfortable, light filled and inviting. Greybeard management made things easy with emails for the rental agreement and then helpful links for things to do in the area. We weren't able to arrive until midnight and Greybeard gave us easy, specific instructions for retrieving the key to the house. Great trip and an enjoyable place to stay, would highly recommend.
“A Wonderful Relaxing Stay In a Great Location”
Myself and 3 other friends get together once a year in the asheville area. Over the last 10 years we have booked over half those years through Greybeard Rentals and they have been outstanding. Hatton House was beautiful and very relaxing. The location was great and we especially liked the cafe and gourmet market being within walking distance. I would recommend Hatton House and Greybeard Rentals to anyone booking a vacation stay in the Black Mountain area.
“We'll be back!”
After 12 hours on the road with four teenagers, settling in at Hatton House was like an oasis. It is set in a tiny little village with a few cute places to eat and shop, hills and trails to walk around on and was overall a delight! The place comfortably slept and accommodated the gang. Every day we left to hike and raft, we knew we would be coming back to its charming environments and comfortable beds. The kitchen was well appointed as was everything else in the house. It was a great vacation!
The home is great. We truly enjoyed our stay and would rent again in the future. The internet was not working and when I called Greybeard it was repaired the following day. Great service.
“A delightful week at Christmas”
Very friendly office folks. Greeted us with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree, in place. Beautiful, exceptionally clean house, and dog friendly to boot.

“Very nice for Hatton House, check in for The Retreat poor”
We were originally scheduled to stay at the Retreat at Biltmore Village. When we arrived they were carpet cleaning, painting and fumigating for insects. This was a special birthday celebration for me and my two friends which we were planning since February. One of my friends has asthma. She was unable to stay at he Retreat the first night of our three night stay. Our main goal was to stay close and walking distance to many restaruants etc. We were set up with the Hatton House which was not yet cleaned from the previous folks who stayed there. Greybeard sent someone to clean the house and then we were finally settled in the house. This was our travel day and we were very tired from all the unsettled arrangements. Aside from the Retreat situation, the Hatton House was very nice. I would suggest that if major cleaning and painting is done that you leave a 24 hour period of time before you schedule someone to stay at your facilities. This was the second time I stayed at the retreat, and now I will look for somewhere else to stay. Thanks.

We try to do all of our house maintenance during larger chunks of time when nobody has the house reserved, however, sometimes during busy seasons it is needed on much shorter notice. Hatton House is well-decorated but functional. Outstanding internet service. Linens more than adequate and much appreciated. Garage nice. Great for pets, but absolutely no sign of prior pet visitors. We loved staying there.
“Beautiful Home, Wonderfull Furnishings, Great Location!”
Hatton House was beautifully decorated with very comfortable bedding and furniture. The kitchen was well appointed with everything we needed to cook during our stay. The location was wonderful for easy access to Black Mountain, Downtown Asheville, and the Biltmore house (20 minute drive). Coffee shop and restaurants in Cheshire Village (right out the front door) were also very convenient.
