“Our second stay”
We got to stay this year for a week. We have stayed in this cabin in 2016 and loved it. The view of the mountains is great. This year we had some hard rain and we woke up to the ceiling leaking in the bedroom and kitchen. On our last night to stay we were awoken by the fire alarm going off in two rooms at about 11:30 it was not just a churp it was a full blown alarm. We would have left that night but mu husband dont see well to drive at night. So we stayed until about 5:30 and left. It was so loud you could hear it outside.
Response from the manager Thank you for staying with us at Pioneers Point. We are very thankful for smoke alarms but one going off in the middle of the night is not good. I'm sorry for this interruption. We did get it down and actually replaced it.
“What you see is what you get”
We found the Pioneers Point cabin to be exactly as advertised: that is, just like the pictures. We very much enjoyed our four-night stay there. It is close to the National Park entrance for Cade's Cove, but we did not get to see that due to the Government shutdown. No matter, the view from the front porch is wonderful, it is very quiet there (except for the pleasant church bells echoing in the early evening) and we had a great view of the Smokey Mountains from the porch. We hope to return in the future and that about says it all as far as satisfaction level. The only negative was the nonfunctional deadbolt on the front door. While really not a problem for us, it is pretty isolated there.
Response from the manager Aww.. thanks you guys. I'm so happy that you had a great stay at Pioneers Point. It is definitely one of my very favorites!! Please let us know if we can be of service to you in the future!! Keith & Cathy
“Great Weekend Getaway”
Pioneers Point is the perfect snug place for two. It's secluded, yet a close drive to everything you need. We went fly fishing, through Cades Cove and horseback riding (Cades Cove Riding Stables are great!). Have been coming to Townsend since I was a little girl and this is definitely a top spot to stay for two- especially for the price. The fireplace is great and the hot tub with it's amazing views are perfect after a day of venturing! There were a good amount of dead lady bugs and stink bugs around the house, but when you're the middle of the mountains- bugs are expected so it didn't damper anything for us. Also, we went out and bought some cups because there were only two glasses there to drink from- a lot of mugs though so you could definitely make do. Would recommend this.
Response from the manager Thank you so much for letting us know about your stay. We really enjoy knowing that our guests had a nice stay. I am sorry about the ladybugs. This is the swarm season for them and even though we have the cabins treated monthly by Orkin, some of those little buggers still manage to get in. Again, thank you so much for staying with us!! “a very awesome trip”
We really enjoyed our stay in Townsend,tn. We will be returning very soon. We went to cades cove and got to see a momma bear and two babies.
Response from the manager Thank you so much for leaving us a review. It really helps others to know what to expect when they rent a cabin. I was really excited that you were able to see some bears during your stay!!! Please let us know if we can be of service to you in the future. Sincerely, Keith & Cathy
“Wonderful, comfortable cabin, loved it”
The stay at Pioneers Point was most enjoyable. The view of the mountains is fantastic, the cabin is very comfortable. Since we spend most of our time in Cades Cove , the location is perfect for us. Just wish wifi was available, and the driveway is a bit scary. Just have to zip on out there, lol.
Response from the manager It's so nice to know that our guests enjoyed their stay. Thank you for trusting us to provide you with a home away from home!! We really appreciate your business. Please let us know if we can help you in the future!! Keith & Cathy
“A Jewel in the Crown”
We love this cabin. It has a beautiful view and is close to everything we love: Cades Cove, Dancing Bear Lodge, Marryville, and the Foothills Parkway. Perfect for cycling or hiking. You can even travel to Pigeon Forge or Gatlinburg without having to stay in the malestrom of humanity. It's a true Jewel in the Crown that is the Smokey Mts. It would be perfect if there was a TV in the bedroom and if the sheets would fit the king size bed. But those are small criticisms compared to the value of this cabin.
“Beautiful week in Townsend, excellent view of the Smoky Mountain”
The service provided by Cathy were extremely professional, the rental was very reasonable. Cathy went out of her way to make sure we felt like it was our home. The view is amazing from the porch and hot tub, the cabin was very clean, spacious and the amenities were nice. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed for our comfort and cooking needs. This cabin has everything you would want, except dressers or a place to unpack your suitcases, The only place you have to put your clothes is in a armoire without shelving, so you pretty much have to live out of your suitcases on top of the pool table or floor. If Pioneers Point had dressers I would give it a 5 star rating. We contacted Cathy and asked about why no dressers, she was kind enough to show us other properties that had dressers with most of the same amenities at Pioneers Point. Unfortunately when my wife and I travel to the Smokies from Florida we do not want to live out of suitcases. We will return to the Smokies, after more than 15-years of cammping, we want to stay in cabins as we grow older, we found another amazing cabin and were able to visit and really liked everything about the place, we will be renting again this summer. Townsend has so much to offer with Cades Cove, fishing, Hiking, Waterfalls, wildlife and beauty...and a short drive to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and the beautiful Smokies, I recommend that anyone want to be close to the Smokies and want to getaway from the concrete jungles, stay in Townsend and rent a cabin... We will be back to Townsend
Response from the manager Thanks you guys!!! We would love to have you back anytime!!
