“Fantastic Stay”

Reviewed 17 Sep 2017

Quiet, relaxing stay in the mountains. We will do it again. Visited Cade's Cove twice and was fortunate enough to see a bear, deer, an otter, wild hogs and turkeys. The cabin was clean and the sauna was a bonus. Could have used the fireplace on a couple of occasions but wrong time of year. Thanks again.

“great for a couples weekend”

Reviewed 19 May 2013

This cabin is very cute and cozy. The hot tub is very private and wooded. Jacuzzi tub was also great. Had a wonderful weekend with my hubby. This place is very close to cades cove and just a small drive away from pigeon forge. There were a few cosmetic repairs that should be done to the cabin but nothing that would interfere with having a great time here. Awesome cabin for the price.

“Cades Cove Hide away marriage retreat headquarters”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2013

While attending a marriage conference at Foothills Church in Maryville, TN, we chose to stay in Townsend, as the Cabins we have stayed in were always refreshing and conducive to the marriage conference environment. Our experience was enhanced by Cathy at Smoky Cabins Vacation Rentals, she made the reservation experience seamless and took care of us very well. We will definitely stay at Cades Cove Hide away again and definitely ask for Cathy when we make our reservations.

Response from the manager Thank you guys for staying with us. We really appreciate your business and would love to have you again in the future.

“Not a good experience”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2013

I really wish i could give a good review. Almost every cabin in this area is or was under foreclosure. Upon arrival, the appearence of the cabin was great. The interior is so so. This could be a really nice place, but it looks as if someone quickly "fixed" all the problems. The Hvac unit was shut off and the cabin has a hotel Hvac unit which seemed to work ok except for the loud pop every 5 to 10 minutes. This makes sleeping impossible if you are a light sleeper. This doesnt heat the bathroom area at all, and there is cold air that blows in from cracks in the walls in the bathroom. Not to mention the floor in front of the bathroom sink, looks like a hole in the hardwood was "patched". Doesnt feel very safe standing there. The king size bed really looks nice until you lay on it. May as well sleep on the floor it was so hard. The tin roof must be loose somewhere, because i could hear the roof flapping in the wind. There is wifi, but they dont give you the password. I booked this cabin for 3 nights and only stayed one. I had to go find a hotel to stay in for the rest of my stay. I really tried to give this cabin a chance, but just couldnt stay. The gas fireplace was really nice along with the jacuzzi tub. The hottub on the deck was ok, the pump wouldnt turn off once it turned on.

Response from the manager It is taking me some time to respond to this review as I wasn't even sure if this person had the right cabin. After doing some research, I do believe that this person had a reservation but we did not hear from them about any of these complaints. So I would like to address some of the issues mentioned. Yes, the cabin is in a log cabin community that was owned by one person. The community was foreclosed upon and the cabins are being sold individually. Fortunately, because some of the cabins are still for sale, the properties are all very well maintained and are being rented during the selling process. The HVAC system is put on an energy efficiency mode while not used. It is a small unit as this is a small cabin. We will look in to the "pop" sound to see if there is some type of repair needed. As far as I can see, there are no cracks in the walls of the bathroom or anywhere else in the cabin. Most hotels/motels/cabins use firm mattresses. I understand that some do not like them but this is definitely a matter of opinion. The wifi password is there in the cabin in the "Cabin book" as we call it. It can also be obtained by a simple phone call to our office which is open from 8am -10pm daily. Hot Tubs stay on to maintain the temperature at which it is set. Turning down the temperature would have turned off the hot tub. We did not hear from this person at all during their stay. If they had called us, we would have been happy to do whatever was necessary to make their stay as pleasant as possible.

“Great Cozy Cabin”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2013

My wife and I stayed in the cabin for our anniversary. It had everything in it that we could have wanted. Although it is small, it was very cozy and comfortable. The king sized bed was fabulous and the whirlpool tub was very relaxing. We spend several evenings in the hot tub which was very clean and peaceful. My wife cooked me a great meal in the small but nicely equipped kitchen. Can't wait until next year so we can come back and enjoy it again!!

Response from the manager Awww thanks Ken - We enjoyed having you guys. Please let us know if we can help you in the future.
