“Cozy home in good location”

Reviewed 27 Feb 2014

We loved the cabin, the layout was superb and the picture windows amazing. The décor was beautiful and the home well stocked with all you could need and more. Some might feel it was a little far out of town but for us it was perfect. It was quiet and tranquil but not too far away from other homes. My son loved the games room which was just as well as there was no cell phone or TV reception at all and we had trouble getting the Tv's to work. It wasn't as clean as I am used to seeing. Didn't appear to have been cleaned since the last gusts visited, we found New Years decorations under the furniture. Most disappointing was the jetted tub, one of our main reasons for choosing the cabin. We filled it climbed in turned on the jets and were covered in black mold, not nice at all!!! We then had to wait forever for more warm water to clean it. It was fine after that. Other than that loved the place.

“Great family getaway”

Reviewed 4 Dec 2013

Spent 4 days there and really enjoyed it. Being pet friendly was a great plus for us. Very clean and well appointed. Beautiful surroundings - would rent here again for sure. 2 items to note: 1 - no cell coverage if you're with at&T; (or likely any carrier), and no in-home internet so you're really off the grid. Adding a basic internet package for the home would be a nice plus. 2 - worth asking how to "work" the shower knobs - the on/off and hot/cold is a tad different, but works fine once you figure that out.

“Great getaway!”

Beautifully decorated, close to everything in Boone. We've stayed here twice now and love it. We spent a lot of time in the game room playing pool as a family. Loved drinking my morning coffee in the living room while looking out of the wall of windows admiring the view. A real treat!

“Wonderful place to stay!!!”

This was a great cabin to stay in very close to Boone. Great kitchen supplies, it had everything we needed to cook. I would stay at this cabin again.

“De- stress!”

Comforting environment with amazing view. Family friendly home did not feel like a rental at all. Our family consists of an aSU grad local man and a NY appalachian girl. Many relaxing cocktails discussng the correct pronunciation of appalachian. We mutually agree when in Boone it's appalaaachaan! Close to everything including lazy rafting in Todd.

“Wonderful, warm atmosphere--would go back again and again”

Reviewed 16 Apr 2013

This is our 2nd time at appalachian adventure and it was as great as the 1st time. Lovely home with all the necessities of home. A lot of space and ideal for a couples retreat. Very friendly neighborhood--we had a accident off the driveway and we had numerous folks to stop by to offer assistance. The staff at Jenkins was courteous, accommodating and great customer service. We enjoyed ourselves and look forward to returning. Only downside is that you have to go to a different location to get the key...which wasn't a real big deal.

“A River Runs Through It”

Reviewed 6 Mar 2013

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend. We had a wonderful snowfall and enjoyed walking the banks of the expansive river just below the cabin. Our families loved the recreation room, fireplaces, and great views from the decks. The home was well-equipped with all the necessary cooking items and the bedrooms were more than adequate. We also took note of how quickly the faucets got to temperature, which ironically is often a challenge at home. Overall, a great weekend and very appreciative of a beautiful home and beautiful surroundings.

“Amazing!”

We had a wonderful visit. The home was everything you said it was. The view was incredible. We were close to everything but felt so far away from life's business. The staff went above and beyond to be friendly and inviting. We will be back!

“The great outdoors”

“Calming and Relaxing”

Reviewed 12 Oct 2012

House next door, but no one there during our weeks stay. High 60's and sunny during the day and low 50's overnight, enjoyed the fresh mountain air-opened the windows at night and slept with goose down comforters brought from home. Easy check in and out. House was clean upon arrival. Family enjoyed the whole house, but favorite was downstairs in the game room with pool table. Relaxing in front of the gas logs, laid back in the recliners with super soft blankets that were draped across each chair with a hot cup of coffee or cocoa-so relaxing! Very nice to have washer, dryer and a grill to cook on also. Enjoyed Tweetsie, Grandfather Mountain and Foggy Gem Mine. Best philly cheese steak sandwich ever! at Foggy Mountain Pub and Eatery - Blowing Rock(chef came from Chetola)
