“Way too busy!”

Reviewed 8 Aug 2016

Kitchen needs more cooking utensils. I went out and bought some things for the kitchen. Pot holders, spatulas just a lot of things if you like to cook. The living room needs more seating for a group of 12 people to relax in the evening. There is a serious ant problem which needs to be controlled. Also the parking was very tight Not enough room for 3 vehicles unless they were small cars. Beach was very crowded and they have the rentals for parasailing and banana boats right beside of this unit. We would not stay here again. For being ocean front there was no privacy at this place. Sorry!

“Decent house”

Reviewed 30 May 2013

This house is in decent condition and it was clean. The owner needs to replace several things. Our toilet seat completely fell off with one lift. The dryer makes a very high pitched squeak while running which is not good when you have a baby trying to nap. The couch sinks to the floor making it difficult to sit on comfortably and the beds are so old and very very very uncomfortable. I had to go straight to the chiropractor when we got home. Everything is very outdated and needs upgrading, bad. I understand that we paid nearly $2400 for one week at this house just to be on the beach, but if you're going to charge that rate and not have nice decor, at least buy new beds. I did call the rental company while we were there and they had repair men over the next day. We were not able to use the pool while we were there b/c it was being repaired. No one from the rental company made us aware of this. We were pretty disappointed and were not given any money back. I do have to say that the staff at the rental company is amazing. They are super kind and helpful!!! We will definitely use this rental company again, just probably for a different house that's a bit nicer and more comfortable.

“Wonderful Family Vacation”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2011

I was really impressed with the size, the cleaniness and the view! We aren't able to come this year but my daughter, who vacationed with us with her family (one toddler, one child)was so impressed she vacationing this year with her in-laws at the same place in august. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation with our family.

“Not Great, Not awful”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2011

It really depends on your priorities in a vacation rental on whether this is a good choice for your family, or not. For ours, this home was disappointing. The kitchen appliances and equipment were rudimentary, but if you're planning to eat out most of the time, who cares. There was no internet access. If you're going to the beach to get away from it all, you might be fine with that too. Also, the living room space is pretty small, as is the porch. Billed as the "family” beach, make no mistake, it's still crowded and commercialized. On the plus side, restaurant options and the pool were great.

“Third year in a row”

Reviewed 28 Jan 2010

We have now stayed in 3 of the Oceanfront Portofino III homes. There is no better way to enjoy a beach vacation. The homes are large enough for extended families, or friends to share. It's great to wake up in the morning and be able to sit on the back porch looking out at the ocean. If you need more space, there is Portofino IV. We rented one of these homes also. The extra bedroom really expands sleeping capacity if you need it.
