“Super place, great accessibility, comfort and easy living”

Reviewed 6 Sep 2012

We loved Island Hopping. Everything was so nice and clean. Outer Banks Blue reps were very careful to be certain that the house was ready.

“vacation 2012”

we loved this house clean easy check in and out spacious for two families or one with lots of kids. Would rent again

“fun at the beach”

Reviewed 5 Sep 2010

we have rented with outerbanks blue for 6 years, we rented atlantis and moonstruck at nags head, this was our first year at corolla, we thought the home was not the cleanest and needed carpet replaced, very stained, the fan in the bathroom downstairs did not work and when we arrived the toilets in two bathrooms were blocked. the laundry area was very dirty. the kitchen was not well stocked and the hose to clean yourself off from the beach had a hole in it and was unusable. some of these issues were owner related and some were outerbanks blue related. this was the first year we were unhappy.

“flooring”

Reviewed 10 Sep 2009

We liked the house and it was fine for us. We did have in issue with how dirty the carpet was when we got there. It was very stained and just felt dirty. Some where we were given the impression there was to be new carpet and furniture. The furniture was good, but not the carper.

“NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2009

Communication with Outerbanksblue was great. However, upon arrival, we noticed that the carpet was in terrible shape. Not only were there stains everywhere but it was torn in many places. All of the shower liners were covered in mold and mildew and should have been changed weeks prior to our stay. The kitchen was not very well equipped. The vertical blinds in dining area were broken and would not close all the way. Some of the blinds were missing from the clips. While in the pool, if you held the rail to walk out, you would get shocked. There was some kind of current running through it that may pose a hazzard. The decks were very moldy and became very slick when wet. The Picnic table bench was bowed and you couldn't sit on one side. Small living area. Dining too cramped for number of guests allowed. Not very clean upon arrival. All the vents for heat/air were covered in mold, even onto the ceiling in places. The walk to the beach was reasonable. We have stayed in many different houses in Corolla over the past 8 years and feel that we certainly didn't get out money's worth this time. I would only stay or recommend this property if a lot of off season work was completed.

“Wonderful”

Reviewed 23 Jul 2009

Island Hopping is a great property with all the elements of a wonderful vaction home. Our family had a great time. One of the many great advantages of the property was its close walk to the beach.

“a good time”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2009

We had a really nice time at "Island Hopping." The house has a great layout, and is a block and a half from beach access. Wall to wall in the great room, not a plus, furniture a bit tired. Also we like to do a puzzle on vacation(i know, nerds) and had to put it on the floor. Pool looks bigger on website and is really quite small. Game room is well equipped and second fridge is great. I loved the sunny yellow color of the main areas. Internet spotty, but really, maybe you don't need internet on vacation. nice time had by all.

“Dirty Little Hideaway”

Reviewed 15 Jun 2009

Stayed at this home in 2008: beautiful, clean, well maintained. Our family received an entirely different welcome this year. The kitchen had sticky floors and countertops with black mold growing in the high chair. Most of the beds that we slept in had sand in the sheets the first night. The second floor deck and pool patio were FILTHY with cigarette butts and unlit matches strewn all over the place. Someone had a good time right before we arrived. The toilet paper holder in the master bedroom was pulled off the wall and someone had a little accident on the back of a pillow sham! The home is a great location in regards to the beach (about a block away). Once you do your own housekeeping in this little 'Island Hopping' hideaway you can have an absolutely great time at the beach!

“FAMILY TIME”

Reviewed 22 Oct 2008

EXCELLENT HOME, EXCELLENT LOCATION. OUTER BANKS BLUE IS WONDERFUL TO WORK WITH. THEY REPRESENT THEIR HOMES WELL. THIS HOME WAS ALL THEY SAID IT WOULD BE AND MORE. THE BEACH ACCESS WAS JUST STEPS AWAY. WE LIKED THE FACT THAT THE ONLY TRAFFIC WAS OTHER NEIGHBORS IN OUR LITTLE CULDESAC.THE HOME WAS BEAUTIFULLY DECORATED AND HAD EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. WE WERE LESS THAN 1 MILE FROM A GROCERY STORE AND TIM BUCK II FOR SHOPPING . EVEN IN OCTOBER, THE WEATHER IS GREAT, NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE (WHICH WORKS FOR US) AND JUST ENOUGH PLACES ARE STILL OPEN. WE ARE ALREADY MAKING OUR PLANS FOR NEXT OCT. WE HAVE BEEN SCANNING THE BLUE WEBSITE FOR HOMES THAT ALOW OUR FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND. WE HAVEN'T RULED OUT RETURNING TO ISLAND HOPPING SIMPLY BECAUSE IT WAS SUCH A WONDERFUL HOME TO STAY IN.

“Wonderful Home Great Location”

Reviewed 23 Sep 2008

We had a great time at this house. It had more than enough room for two families and so much to do. The kids had as much fun as the adults playing pool, swimming in the pool, and soaking in the hot tub. We were so close to the beach, and the house had everything we needed from beach chairs to boogie boards, even buckets for the kids to build sandcastles. The house is in a nice very family oriented community. Its also literally 2 minutes from the food lion and tons of little shops. We will defenitly stay in this house in the future.
