This was our fifth stay at Sunriver and the house we stayed in the last two years decided (after we booked it) to not have it be a rental anymore. So, Bennington Properties put us in a comparable house for the same price. Very disappointing. First, the door to the master bedroom wouldn't shut so my brother-in-laws dog kept waking all of us up in the night because she could get out of the room. Second, the dryer took three hours to dry a load of clothes. Three hours!!!! Third, the oven didn't work. It is supposedly a new oven but If that is the case they should take it back. It kept turning off when we were trying to cook dinner so when we would go to remove our dinner it was uncooked. Thank goodness there is a grill but we ended up eating dinner at 9:00 several nights. The jacuzzi was pretty janky, too. I really like the location and the nice deck and nice sofa. I told Bennington about the stove and they were very nice about it. They gave us a large gift certificate for our group to eat dinner at a Sunriver restaurant. They also gave us a bottle of wine. I appreciate their fantastic customer service and will continue to go through Bennington although I will find a different house!
“Annual Family Summer Vacation”
We have been at Pineridge for the last 3 years - feels like home away from home. My husband and I rent it and our daughters, husbands and grandkids all come and we share food expense. We bike and hang out at the Shac center - Love it and look forward to it every year!
Response from the manager We are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and your continued business is the greatest compliment! We hope that you enjoyed all of the wonderful upgrades made to this lovely home recently...new cabinets in kitchen and bathrooms, new refrigerator, new carpeting, new light fixtures and a new leather sofa in the living room. We hope to see you again soon! Christina Guest Services Coordinator Bennington Properties
“House needed some tender loving care”
Bennington Properties are a wonderful group to work with. Very accommodating and friendly. This particular house, however, was in serious need of some maintenance and cleaning. Screen doors broken and torn; carpeting was a mess; one of the pull out beds was broken resulting on one of our party sleeping on the floor. The layout of the house was great, and if some upkeep is done, it will be a great rental property.
Response from the manager Dear Peggy, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay at 6 Pineridge. We really appreciate your suggestions and feedback. The screen and sliding door have been repaired, the carpets have undergone a deep cleaning and the pull out bed has also been fixed. We hope you enjoyed your stay in Sunriver (Barney too!) and we apologize for the issues you encountered. We hope to see you again soon! Christina Guest Services Coordinator Bennington Properties
“Very nice stay at 6 Pineridge - and will stay with Bennington ag”
We had a great stay at 6 Pineridge - very comfortable home. Foosball and ping pong in the garage were fun, kitchen was well appointed (all the spices, tupperware, food wrap, etc. that many rental homes lack), and home was very clean (especially for a pet friendly home). Furnishings are relatively updated and beds are comfy. The only thing we didn't love about this home was that you have to walk or ride bikes on Fort Rock Road to get to any of the trails. We found ways to get to the trails but with 8 and 5 year old kids it's not ideal to have to ride bikes on a hilly through street. A previous reviewer noted that the house was too hot. When we first arrived the house was extremely warm and stuffy and we were very concerned about not having aC. However, I think the house may have been closed up before us because even though the weather was in the 80s during our visit, it was never hot after that (even upstairs) just by leaving the windows open at night. The dishwasher and clothes dryer worked great for us. However, I agree that Bennington can do a better job notifying renters when they are in the process of fixing something when they first arrive at the home. A simple note with all the other entry paperwork would be great. The screen door and sliding door out to the deck were both badly broken for our whole visit, so we called it in and when Bennington sent out a representative they told us that parts were on order. I can overlook the inconvenience of the door being broken knowing they are working on it but would have been nice to know that fact heading in and not have to call. Overall great stay and while we would probably not rent this particular home again due to trail proximity, I would recommend it to someone who didn't have that concern and wanted a fun, comfortable home! We love Bennington and will definitely rent with them again - friendly people, great service, just recommend better communication on what they're working to fix in a home.
Response from the manager Dear Erica, Thank you for your review of your recent stay at 6 Pineridge. Your information on the bike trails for young kids is very helpful so thanks for mentioning that. Regarding the temperature of the house, you are absolutely right. Most houses in Sunriver do not have A/C, simply because opening windows at night and then closing everything during the day keeps the houses comfortable and cool on all but the hottest days. Regarding the repairs of the sliding door and the screen door, you are right...we should have informed you and we will make sure to do that in the future for all guest. We thank you for your continued business and we hope that you visit us again soon (and Bailey too!). Christina Guest Services Coordinator Bennington Properties
“Too hot and very broken.”
We have stayed in several Bennington properties and been very happy. This house was sadly disappointing. The fact that it has no aC is just silly, but we could overlook that because we should have paid more attention when booking, but the dishwasher was broken (we fixed it ...your welcome) and the dryer was broken. It had a part on order we were told...but no note was left for us and we had a full load of wet clothes in the wash that had to air dry. Overall we were very disappointed in our stay this time. :(
Response from the manager Our sincerest apologies for the unfortunate timing of the hot weather and having not one but 2 appliances not work for you. Both appliances have been replaced. Any homeowner knows that appliances will sometimes just stop working without any warning. Unfortunately, in the vacation rental business when someone is only here for a couple of days...and the appliance guy has to first come in the see if the appliance is repairable...that is often quicker than having to purchase a new appliance...the inconvenience and inability to take care of the problem immediately is unacceptable to the renter...and will leave a horrible impression. We have offered the renter to come back and stay at 6 Pine ridge again on us...give it another try with working appliances... And maybe not during the hottest days of the year. Sunriver is located in the "high desert". This generally means that during the summer we have, for the most part, 30 to 40 degree swings in temperature each day. The trick is to draw the blinds on the west/south exposure windows during the day....then open up the windows for cross breeze at night when temperatures drop below 60 and sometimes 50 degrees. Then start the process all over again during the day...closing it up trapping that cold evening air in the house during the day. Most homes are not built with air conditioners in Sunriver because of our milder temps but it is hard for a visitor to believe or understand if they happen to hit the 2-3 days year when the temps climb to nearly 100 with no appreciable cooling at night. This experience provided the perfect storm ...and deserves a free visit to experience the home and Sunriver in a better light. We hope you will take us up on our offer. Penny Bennington
“Excellent customer service!”
This has been the best experience we have had with a rental. We rent each year to follow the snow -- Utah, Tahoe, Colorado, etc. but this has been the most comfortable and easy rental experience we have had. The house was good -- we have stayed in more luxury but what made this stay great is the wonderful people at Bennington Properties. They were an absolute joy to work with. They were quick to respond if we had a question or concern. We arrived late after dark, much later than anticipated but the directions were good, location was convenient and the lights were on in the house! What a welcome, especially when arriving after dark! The layout of the house was good for our group. We have never had such a fully stocked kitchen -- utensils, pots and pans, frying pans that were not scratched and non-stick coating that worked, knives that were sharp, etc. The refrigerator was clean, as was everything else. If you have ever rented a house, you know what a joy it is to have those working well, with everything clean. Towels were fluffy and not threadbare. There was ample linens and they were well marked for the futon bed and pull outs. Bathrooms were clean and shower/tubs worked well. The hot tub was drained and cleaned (according to the chart) the day before our arrival. Needless to say, we were impressed with the condition and care taken for this home and for the high standards set by Bennington Properties in taking care of us. Mahalo!
“familu friendly, clean and updated rental home”
The home was very clean and nicely furnished. We appreciated the baby gates and high chair and didn't have to unpack the ones we brought since the vacation rental owners were nice enough to supply these items. We also appreciates the dog friendly items. A letter was left for us indicating that if we would like electric plug in outlet covers delivered they would gladly od so. I thought that was great they offered and since we were traveling with a very mobile, walking 11-month old I asked for some. They said they would deliver bit never did. Its really fine as most hotels or anywhere you go there are jot outlet covers. Had they not offered I wouldn't have even thought twice about them. Our daughter was well supervised so it didn't matter but I guess if they offered they should follow through. We had a wonderful stay.
“Great family vacation!”
We really enjoyed our stay at 6 Pine Ridge, great location, house had everything we needed, very comfortable. House was clean and ready for us 2 hours early, which was really nice. Location was key for us, we could easily bike ride to Fort Rock Park, Sharc, Village, Marina/Stables and North Pool. It would have been nice to have a larger deck, there were 8 of us and it was a little crowded when we were all outside talking or looking at the deer. Bennington Properties was great to work with they answered all our questions prior to our visit, we had no need to contact them during our visit but had numbers to do so if needed, and they followed up with a thank you after our visit - very professional. Would definitely rent from them again.
Response from the manager Ed & Nancy, Thanks so much. 6 Pineridge is a great location being so close to the park and the SHARC. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much. Rick
“Our family had a wonderful time & would love to come back!!”
Our family came for a family reunion of sorts for about 22 people. We rented two nearby houses for most of us and fully enjoyed the experience. The house has very clean, comfortable rooms/beds, had a well stocked kitchen, easy to use washer & dryer, lots of games/bikes, and a great BBQ & hot tub on the deck. The only minor issue was the use of the washer - nothing big, but it probably needs balanced (it moved around a lot & with the folding doors it was sometimes hard to open); we just moved it back each time. The location was convenient and close to the Fort Rock park, which the kids enjoyed, yet far enough away from the hustle & bustle of the main village. The new Sharc facility was great. Due to a couple unexpected outside issues, not related to the rental, we did not get to utilize the facility as fully as planned. We definitely enjoyed our stay and would love to come back! Definitely 4.5 or 4.75 out of 5 stars!!
Response from the manager Thanks so much Lisa, That is a wonderful location. We'll adjust the washer. Glad you had a good time. Rick
We had a fantastic time! Property is perfect for our two families. When we called needing more towels the response was prompt and friendly. The information provided was helpful and we appreciated the comfortable blankets on the beds.
Response from the manager Wonderful Jane, So glad you enjoyed the home. You're right. It is a wonderful home for 2 families. Thanks Rick
