“Great, remote cottage for vacation for a large group”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2014

Two levels, each with its own bathroom, perfect for two families. Fully-equipped kitchen. Excellent swimmable beach that was great for little ones. The descent to the beach is fairly steep, but I just looked at it as exercise. Property manager was excellent - came to let us in the boat shed when we couldn't find the key. If we return to the region, we would definitely rent this property again.

“A super locale for a family vacation”

Reviewed 27 Jul 2014

We stayed here from June 28 - July 5, 2014 with our two children and their families - a total of 6 adults and 4 children under 9. The cottage had plenty of space for all of us, indoors and out (two expansive patios with an impressive vista overlooking Devil Lake). The steep path down to the lake was strenuous, but the private beach, dock and water toys made it well worth several trips a day. The kids especially loved it! (All ten of us!) In addition to the comfortable nature of the cottage and the private sand beach, other selling points for us were the totally secluded nature of the place (no immediate neighbours) and the superb water quality of Devil Lake itself (spring fed). Being only 10-15 minutes from Westport and Newboro was also a plus for shopping, golf, ice cream treats etc. Issues that came up were minor - the screen on the upstairs bathroom window needs some attention, as does the buckling laminated flooring in the master bedroom. And a problem with the water supply near the end of our stay was handled with a simple phone call to the agent.

“Secluded with stunning views of an incredible lake”

Well appointed four bedroom cottage high on a hill overlooking fantastic Devil Lake. Path down to a beautiful secluded private beach surrounded by acres and acres of private shoreline and bush.

“Ideal For Extended Family”

Reviewed 17 Aug 2013

Very private and peaceful. Extraordinary view from cottage. At the beginning of aug, the beach was still covered with water; nevertheless, it was ideal for 3 year old grandson to play in. Fully furnished, very clean, lots of books, fishing gear available, canoe and kayaks top quality and lots of fun on the water, fire pit, and much more. Downstairs area has warping floor and there is a water stain on the ceiling of one washroom; otherwise, quite good. Path to water is steep but 66 year old grandparents and 3 year old grandson managed it easily. Outdoor patio catches breeze which keeps mosquitos down. We will rent here again.

Response from the manager The floor has been fixed now, thanks for letting us know.It is a bit of a trek to the beach, but it is a private beach like no other in this area!
