“Don't forget bug spray!!!”

Reviewed 15 Jan 2014

There is a great deal of misrepresentation about this property. You should know that half the house does not have windows. Yep, just screens and shutters but no glass. I understand that it is convenient since there is not air conditioner, but certainly feels unsafe and every word and movement can be heard outside for a mile away. The windows that are there, are extremely dirty and you cannot even see thru most of them. There are bugs (alive and dead) everywhere as well as mosquitos. My whole family was eaten alive every single night, even after using bug spray. There are colonies of ants and some cockroaches in the kitchen and bathroom. Also some geckos, but they are cute. When we arrived at 4pm ( check-in is at 3 pm), the cleaning lady was just starting and asked us to leave and come back later...super convenient after you've been traveling with 2 children for most of the day. No shower, no unpacking... The fridge is rotting and super dirty. I do not believe that anyone has cleaned it since its installation in 1998. There are no cleaning products in the house at all, so make sure you bring your own. The coffee maker was broken and it took the manager 10 (!!!) days to get a new one. The walls and ceiling in the master bedroom and cracked and have water damage stains, including a huge bubble right above the bed. Every night I went to bed hoping that it would not burst while I am in bed. There is tons of mold on the steps and on the patio . Luckily we spent most of the time across the street at a friends house, otherwise I am not sure we would be able to handle 14 days in this house.

Response from the manager Thank you for bringing these issues to our attention so we may address them. The exterior of the property has been pressure washed. A minor leak was found in the master bedroom ceiling, this has been resolved and repaired. Both bedrooms have been newly painted. The coffee maker was found to be in perfect working order. We appreciate all feed back from our guests so we may improve upon our service for future guests. Thank you for taking the time to post this review. Kind regards Cayman Villas

“Wonderful stay on the cove”

Reviewed 28 Sep 2013

My wife and I and two children (ages 20 and 15) enjoyed a stay-cation at Kirk Kove. The villa was clean and well appointed with a large sandy beach with volleyball net, an enormous cabana with BBQ, and a boat dock. Despite initial problem with the WiFi not working (resolved after the technician finally turned up), and a few rusty door hinges, we had a glorious time enjoying early morning beach strolls, swims, (rented) paddle boarding and kayaking. We used our car to drive to restaurants at North Side and East End and our boat for trips to Hurley's for shopping and the sandbar for swims with the stingrays and the reef for snorkeling. All in all a wonderful relaxing get-away.

“quiet, romantic, island living”

Reviewed 9 Oct 2012

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Kirk Kove. The Y shaped home has the kitchen in the vertical leg of the Y, and bedrooms at each end, giving lots of privacy for families or 2 couples. Great kitchen, comfy living room beautifully decorated. A good TV and a easy stereo completes the picture. A huge screened porch, big beach side gazebo and a big dock which was great to sit on and have a morning cup of coffee. This is a genuine Cayman Kai home, and it is not the Ritz-Carlton, so bedrooms have wall unit aC and the common areas are not air conditioned, but the constant breezes are more than adequate except on the most hot/humid summertime days. If that bothers you then jump in the ocean or grab a cold drink ant Rum Point or Kaibo, just a walk away with lots of sea sports available. Quiet is nice. Enjoy!

“Had a blast!”

We stayed for almost a week and we were very pleased with Kirk Cove. It was clean and very relaxing. I really felt the beach feeling all day!

“Pleasant, but there is room for improvement.”
