“Beautiful cabin on top of the mountain.”

Reviewed 30 Aug 2013

We were extremely pleased to find that Bullwinkle's Place was at the top of the mountain. Due to the leaves on the trees (July) the mountain view off the back decks was obscured but still beautiful. The cabin itself is gorgeous and very nicely furnished. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. It was very clean! It does state in the description that is sleeps 10 - but one of the sofa beds in the basement was broken and not usable, and the one in the living room is not great, but with some effort is usable. The Patriot people were very quick to bring air mattresses to us - and also very helpful with any questions we had. During our stay, there were 3 late evening rain storms, and we quickly realized that water leaks in the cathedral windows in the living room and puddles on the floor by the table. Not a huge deal, just something to be aware of. We also had trouble with lots of ants on the kitchen counters. We just made sure to keep all of our food stored in the fridge, microwave and oven. If we could make any suggestions, it would be to put the outside trash cans in some sort of cage like the neighboring cabin. We were not able to put our trash in the cans during our stay because of raccoons and a bear cub. We were quick to find out that the raccoons get in the trash on the back deck also. Cages for the cans would have been nice. I know it sounds like I am complaining a lot, but really there were just a few minor inconveniences - none of which would prevent our family from staying in this cabin again. We really did have a great vacation!!

“Spring Break Get-Away”

Reviewed 16 May 2013

Bullwinkle's Place not what I expected for the price I paid. There was rodents sharing the cabin with us. We had a bad experience with the oven having issues heating. We had planned to make homemade pizza one night, but couldn't due to the oven problems. Guest services did however have pizzas delivered that evening. I think I read somewhere that the hot tub water was drained after each guest, and tub cleaned. This was not true. Our hot tub had nasty particles floating in the water, and the screen in the bottom had a huge wad of hair in it. Almost looked like a Sasquatch had bathed in there prior to our arrival. In the future I will recommend any of my friends to inspect their cabins before planning on using the appliances, look at the hot tub, and look around for rodent droppings before leaving bread or other foods out on counter tops.

“Well Water!!”

Reviewed 27 Aug 2012

My boyfriend, 3 teenagers and myself stayed at this location for a week for our vacation. Trying to locate the place was a bit confusing. The place was clean and nice but the trees needed to be trimmed if not cut, to be able to enjoy the view! The pool is located a good ways away from this location!! If there is any chance of bad weather in the forcast that could take out the power, beware this place has well water... There is no way to flush the toilet except the water from the hot tub, and while not having any electric or water there is not any alternate place to shower without them charging you!!! Not only did we have to go to my dads camper to shower but I also lost a good bit of food from the power being out so long!!! This was an experience I will not forget!!

“Overall great place to stay”

Reviewed 24 Aug 2012

We stayed at Bullwinkles place this summer and overall had a great experience. The cabin was nicely decorated, plenty of space, and great ammenities. We were slightly disappointed with the condition of some of the things in the cabin such as the condition of the pool table and the lack of the ms. pacman machine since that was why we picked this particular cabin in the first place. there was a slight problem with wasps getting in and we got a visit from a noisy woodpecker every morning but that can happen anywhere and wasn't the cabins fault. The biggest recommendation would be to have people come in from the gatlinburg area not pigdeon forge if possible. the roads are as steep and we were actually disgusted by the pigeon forge area how commercialized and over crowded it was. we much preferred the gatlinburg area.

“A Great getaway high in the boondocks”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2012

Bullwinkle is attractive cabin high in the mountains. It was a great place rest and relaxe after a big day taking in all the area hhas to offer. We all enjoyed the time around the pool table and a game of cards. My wife relaxed every evening with the hot tub, It was a time worth doing again. One morning about 5am there was a beautiful view through the windows. Thanks for the memories The Lynch Family

“;( not Luxury as described”

Reviewed 31 May 2012

05/31/2012 I have sent several email since or stay and noone ever responded to any of them! April 16, 2012 We come to Tenn. each year with our 4 kids so we pick our cabins accordingly. The main reason we chose this particular cabin was because it advertised a Pac-man arcade game that my kids liked in the pictures. To our dismay there was no arcade game so I feel that was a bit like false advertising. In addition we stay in Luxury cabins to be comfortable and this cabin did not really live up to such. Major ant problems that caused us to lose the $150.00 worth of food we had purchased on Friday night. I had to hide all our food in the fridge and microwave from the bugs. The floors were dirty (especially bathroom) and the sofas were tattered and worn out. The "pull out" sofa bed downstairs was horrible. Even my 9 yr old complained. I have never been unhappy with a cabin before so I felt the need to comment. I hope in the future we return to problem free trips as they were before. I do feel there should be some compensation in this situation. Thanks, Kimberly Hood e-mail from Kimberly

“Lovely Cabin - Ok location - Old Grill”

Reviewed 24 May 2012

This cabin was very nice. I sort of wish the grill was a little more updated and in a better location than the driveway, since this was considered a "luxury" cabin. My friends and I enjoyed the pool table and air hockey machine on the bottom floor. It was a little weird that almost every remote in the cabin was missing batteries, but maybe the last people who rented it took them. We also enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub on the back deck. I wish there were better views of the mountain since our cabin was so high up, but maybe in fall when there aren't leaves on the trees you can see more. We were in the cabin during spring time to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday so all the trees were in full bloom. The pool was nice but a little cold because of the time of year and the weather that weekend. The staff of american Patriot Getaways was very friendly when I called to book the cabin.

“Beautiful & Relaxing!!”

Reviewed 23 May 2012

We take four teens with us and they love the game room. Keeps them busy and entertained plus there are enough bathrooms so that the boys in the basement have one, the girls upstairs have one and we (the parents) have one! Awesome!
