“Made my top 5 list of best vacations!”

Reviewed 31 May 2014

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our stay at Licklog Hollow Cabin! The cabin was clean, cozy, rustic yet modern. We enjoyed a romantic getaway secluded and among beautiful scenery. We were able to enjoy all the amenities, especially the hot tub, pool table and well-supplied kitchen. Not a bad drive to area attractions. We went whitewater rafting, horseback riding and into Gatlinburg and Cades Cove all in 3 days without a problem. I would definitely stay here again for another couples' retreat and can imagine it perfect for a small family. By being slightly more out of the way of the main tourism drag, we found the place quite suitable for a vacation on a budget as well. Only suggestion is to maintain lights/replace bulbs often as lighting was poor after sundown.

Response from the manager Thank you for your positive testimony! We're so glad you enjoyed your vacation with us! I will let maintenance know about the lightbulbs. Best Regards, American Patriot Getaways

“Great place to be in the middle of nowhere but short nice drive”

I stay for my honeymoon and it was great. It was really clean and had all the amenities you will need. If it rains or snows you definitely need a 4x4 vehicle. It snowed and had no problem going up and down any of the roads and still was around 20 min to Pigeon Forge and 40 min to Gatlinburg. The only thing I didn't like was leaving the key in the lock box and the bedroom can use a more lighting.

Response from the manager Thank you very much for the great review! We're happy you enjoyed your stay! Best Regards, American Patriot Getaways

My children, my husband and I really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful cabin inside and out! Very relaxing, secluded and very private. We enjoyed the visit from the little dog and pig from neighbor's cabin each morning. A little far from downtown but worth the views. Only downs were fireplace is portable, washer did not work for our stay, and driveway was very steep (our Toyota minivan almost did not make it up to the cabin the first day, but it was snowing though). My children and husband spent lots of time playing upstairs, mostly with the foosball table. Staff at aPG were very nice, polite and helpful. Loved this cabin!

Direction to this cabin was the worst I have ever had...and water here was like what I use to have when visiting my aunt in the country "Sulfur Water" Yuk!!

“Great Stay!”

This was my second time staying here and it was great! Really secluded but yet not to far from town. I plan on staying here again!

“Wonderful Getaway!!!”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2013

We had a wonderful time at the cabin (Licklog). It was everything we expected and more. Very clean and spacious and the seclusion was exactly what we were looking for. Looking forward to staying again. Oh, and the visit from the hog every morning was awesome!

“Remote location”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2013

If you want to be way out and alone, this one's for you! Air was out but was fixed the second night. Only had local stations as Dish needed replaced. Never saw the pot bellied pig but a racoon tried the corn in the lidded bucket at 3 in the morning. Okay for a cabin experience. Quiet, remote, so get there while it's light out!!

“Very Relaxing”

Absolutely loved the place, loved being away from the crowd. The pig and little dog were great company. Would change the directions to the location. Much easier getting there off old Newport Highway.

“Beautiful Cabin!”

Reviewed 8 May 2013

We really enjoyed our stay at Licklog Hollow! The cabin was huge and very clean. We instantly felt like we were at 'home.' We liked how secluded it was, but it was pretty tough to find up in those mountains. Finally, I was able to use my GPS combined with the directions that were given to find the place. (My iPhone would take me to a road nearby called Licking Spring Road, which helped but it wont take you all the way to the cabin). Once you get to the cabin you don't really have cell phone service and there is also no internet, so you are cut off except for a phone the cabin has that can make local calls. The pig and dog were adorable. They give you pig food to feed him, too! We loved the pool table in the loft and the furniture is gorgeous. The kitchen is well-stocked with pots pans with spoons, etc. and drinking glasses. I would suggest bringing ice though. The only problem we had was that at the time we were there, the hot tub was kind of broken. We had to keep filling it up with water, which was a pain in the butt. Overall, we had a great time and we would totally go back!

“Relaxation in the woods!”

Reviewed 14 Dec 2012

Nice getaway cabin if you like privacy. Driveway off of main road is gravel and a bit steep, so keep this in mind if renting during winter weather months or if on motorcycles like we were hehe! We did ok though no probs with bikes, you just have to be very careful going back down the driveway. Nice hot tub, pool table, and foozball table to keep you entertained!
