“Finally got to enjoy a nice cabin.”

Reviewed 18 Mar 2014

It didn't start off good with a phone call telling us the cabin we had searched and searched for we couldn't go to because the hit tub had froze up and burnt motor up. And the hot tub us the main reason we go. So we chose another cabin but was not nowhere near the cabin we had booked so we had to change cabins the next day and finally got settled in and enjoyed our 19th wedding anniversary. We have been renting cabins from y'all for about the last 7 years and this was the first time we havd ever had a problem. Would still love to stay in The View in the future!

“Perfect Place”

I toook my 2 boys (5-8) and my parents on the trip. It was my parents first time staying in a cabin. We started to plan our next trip before we even left. The location was great!

Was Disappointed That Every Dish I Pulled Out Was Dirty and The Furniture Was broken

“1st time to ever stay in a cabin”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2012

Well the cabin was cute. The sweeper did not work, I had to carry water to the washer every night to do laundry because there was no water pressure, so I was up until 2 am every night and the water stunk so bad the whole cabin stunk light rotten eggs everytime we took a bath. and the laundry smelled bad too. We were outside eatting and we had 5 of the hughest raccoons I have ever seen come up and try to take my daughters food right off of her plate.

“Bad Location!”

Reviewed 13 Sep 2012

The cabin itself is cute but we had two issues. The smell of the water was horrible! The 2nd was the location, we did not mind driving out from town in fact we prefer that but the issue is the road to get there. especially the closer you get to the cabin, it's very unsafe there is not room for 2 cars to pass each other in several spots and a couple of those are on sharp turns. We had had a minor accident with another vehicle because they came around a corner at night over the centerline and we both clipped mirrors which completely shattered the glass in both vehicles mirrors. We have quite a bit of mountain driving experience but you cannot control other drivers so that had us on edge for the last few days of our stay. We will not be going back to that location.

The cabin was very pretty inside and outside. But our stay was not the best. Being excited to get to the cabin and a bit hungry, the guys went to town, to the store, us ladies stayed to unpack and relax. While standing on the deck, we were greeted by a racoon. Who must have thought we were friends. So we spent time inside, because he was a bit too friendly. That night while sitting in the hot tub room, he decides to come inside through a whole in the bottom of the screened door. We had to block the door with the trash cans. The water in the cabin stunk like raw sewage, and when we bathed it was discusting. Our cabin lost electric on the fourth day because of a storm, and I never took out the insurance. So all the food in the refridgerator was spoiled. Finally got a hold of the electric company on Friday and they couldn't give a time of the electric coming back on, except maybe on Saturday so we left a day early, so once again no insurance, no reimbursment. The battery ran out on the alarm system. However the location is very secluded and it was a pretty view. We have stayed in 2 other cabins in previous years, and have never expierenced these problems before. Fyi take the insurance they offer!

The cabin was very nice and very clean. It was too hot(weather wise)to get in hot tub but it was clean and nice!!! The game room kept our kids and niece something to do! But I will say if you have little children this is not a good place to stay. It is on a very steep mountain side and only a vehicle yard!! The ladies at american Patroit Getaways was very nice, repectful and helpful people!!!

“Review Picture Perfect Hideway”

Reviewed 2 Aug 2012

Are stay at Picture Perfect Hideway was ok, but if we wouldn't have got the cabin at a discount I would have been disappointed if I paid full price. The cabin interior was outdated and old. (It looked like it was from the 80's) and the living room chair was broke. The water stunk so when you washed your cloths they didn't smell clean. Also, there were way to many bears as part of the decorations. The beds were nice but again the comforter was out dated. Our in-laws rented a cabin up the road and it was beautiful. I would not stay at this location again and would be more specific if I rented a cabin again. I would not recommend Picture Perfect Hideaway to my friend, but would have them look at other cabins from Patriot Getaways.

“Quiet "way" out of the loop place to stay.”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2012

We enjoyed our stay at the Picture Perfect Hideaway. One thing I think should be known to prospective clients is that it is very far off the beaten path. If you want to be closer to the "action," do not stay here. We did however, enjoy it other than the very narrow roads and long trip to get there. It was clean and spacious, the hot tub was very nice and they had it ready when we arrived. The game room on the second floor was nice and would suit teens well. The a/c went out and they promptly came to fix it. The overall experience at the cabin was great. The only complaint would be the unexpected long narrow drive to reach it and the sofa beds are not comfortable at all. If you want to get away from it all and just relax, enjoy the views, this is the place for you. It was worth seeing.
