Very Good

“Great time”

Reviewed 13 Feb 2014

This place was very nice and clean. Had a great time and would defiantly go back again. I would recommend fiends and family to stay here.

“Satisfactory - a little run down and in need of repairs”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2013

ok, but could have been better. Furniture items broken and in need of repair - kitchen table leg was wobbly and about to fall off, side table with glass broken out of it. Hot tub took about 12 hours to heat up to where you could relax in it -we called office and they said it takes an hour to heat up 1 degree. Was disappointing in that is one of the things we were looking forward to in the cabin. There were bugs in the cabin, but I guess that is to be expected, but not in the large numbers we saw them. Like I said, it was ok, but I'm sure there is better out there.

“It was a good experience averall”

We enjoyed are stay but there where some things I did not like.Wanted a cabin go I could have my dog and there was no yard to let her out she had to go in the woods.there was no view at all ,the cabin was nice and we enjoyed are stay. The next time we stay I will make sure about a yard

“Secluded... but felt well used”

Reviewed 23 Jan 2013

I was kind of by itself, but things were well worn (like the hot tub, furniture) and felt old (TV didn't work very well), even though it wasn't really. Would have been fine but the price was too high for that. Stayed in much nicer cabins in the area for basically the same price.

“A Treehouse!”

Reviewed 17 Oct 2012

We truly felt we were living in a treehouse during our stay at the shybear. The inside was just as cute as pictured. The outside was not as clear as the picture shows, you are definately secluded and surrounded by trees. It was beautiful.

“The perfect mix of privacy and accessibility”

Reviewed 25 May 2012

We knew we wanted a cabin with privacy and not in a resort with another cabin next door. I'd stayed at the top of Bear Mountain before so I knew the area. I also knew that the road to the cabin at the top was almost more than my 4 cylinder SUV could handle. Shy Bear is about halfway up Bear Mountain so we were in the same area with roads and driveways that were easier to travel. There are other cabins nearby but with leaves on the trees you can't hardly see them. Shy Bear is about 20 minutes outside of Pigeon Forge. It's two stories with one bedroom downstairs and the other upstairs was perfect for our trip with a teenager. Each floor also had a full bathroom. The interior was what we were looking for; rustic but clean and updated. Only two reasons I gave it four stars instead of five: The view wasn't as good as the pictures showed. They were taken when the cabin was new and the land was cleared. And the interior was a little more cluttered with home decor than is my personal preference. Still, overall it was a great stay and a cabin we'll likely rent again.

“the cabin was the greatest it made our trip the best”

we really enjoyed shy bear it had all the convininces of home. we really enjoyed the peace and quiet its not like staying in a hotel its so much better you can go and come with out a lot of people around. it was just so great and we cant wait to go back again

Comfy cabin, definitely secluded and on a steep gravel drive. The cabin was clean overall except for the jacuzzi tub in master bedroom. It needs to be professionally cleaned. We could not use it. Very disappointing! The front door looks like someone broke in and it was screwed back together which was a little scary to me. The layout was great for a small family.

My husband and i greatly enjoyed our stay at this lovely cabin. I enjoyed the swing, he enjoyed the big screen tv. And we enjoyed the cute round hot tub together. All that was really missing was a spectacular view but we both loved the feeling of privacy that the surrounding trees provided. We would stay at Shy Bear again.
