Very Good

“We, along with our friends, had a wonderful time.”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2013

We at first got lost, since we weren't familiar with the directions, yet pleased with the Castle on The Hill. It's convenient to everything, and private with a great view. We were also greeted by a mama bear and her two cubs, by our back door. But it wasn't a problem, just exciting. Just wanted to mention that one light bulb in the upstairs bathroom was out, and also one chair on the back deck was already broken. Overall, we were pleased with the space, privacy, and everything working, as far as the air conditioner, and kitchen appliances. If we have to mention what we liked the least, would be the directions, and it would be nice to have a shuttle to go back and forth into town. Oh, and better lighting in the bathroom upstairs. Plus the floors could be cleaner in same room. But, overall, no real complaints...would go back again.

My family and I went for a Mothers Day weekend at the last moment. Staff was wonderful. The drive out to the Chalet was peaceful. Once upon arrival you're greeted by this towering Chalet. The Chalet was the perfect size for my family of seven. Everything was clean and well appointed and the wrap around deck was heavenly. The only improvement I would suggest is for the owner to buy a new hot tub. The hot tub was outdated, had no controls. Maintenance had to come out and get it heated up. They were very friendly and supportive. Overall the chalet was perfect and we look forward to staying again.

“liked the house but it was in serious need of repairs”

evidentaly you don't read reviews so i will try front of dishwasher floor is buckled from water leak so we would not use the dishwasher.downstairs bedroom door has 1 inch opening under door letting in insects.deck is in need of repair. flood lights don't work making it hard to see coming in at night.i had to rehang light fixture in upstairs bath room and reinstall door knob which was on the floor. if you want to open a window forget it there broke.this was our 50 wedding anniversary so by pictures on your site i chose this one. had i viewed property in person i would not haved taken this one.please don't delete before you read. i really don't expect to hear anything from this review!

“We enjoyed our stay.”

Reviewed 12 Nov 2012

Very spacious for two couples to stay. Had trouble adjusting the temperature upstairs overnight the first night and did not get a good night's rest because of that fact. However, we figured it out for the second night and slept much better. Location is more than 2 miles from the main thoroughfare through Gatlinburg up a mountain road and the driveway was a little difficult to navigate, but we succeeded. Also, had a little trouble opening the lockbox due to the night lighting.

“Very steep drive up”

Reviewed 21 Oct 2012

We really enjoyed the time we spent in castle on the hill. The drive up was steep, and even the driveway was steep. We did feel a little concern over the door to the bottom level being locked & not knowing if someone could come in on us. You have to enter through the back of the house and it is not well lit. After driving up the mountain the first night at dusk we decided we did not want to go back out at night. The hot tub smelled really bad, and needed to be cleaned out. The house was clean and well set up. Everything we wanted to use to cook with was there for us to use. It was very relaxing, and had a beautiful view. If you do not mind the drive up it is worth staying here. We have great memories there.

“Sadly Neglected”
