“Awesome peaceful and exciting all in one”
Great getaway! Best view on the mountain, pool table was an added hit!
“The View from above”
The only place we have rented longterm and wanted to return. The home is well equipped . We love the deck the view is at the top of our list for views. Location is excellent, conveient to asheville, and other areas of western NC. The rental service is wonderful we have used the co.several times over the years. The only thing that we could see that needed extra attention is the sofa needs new cushions. And you can live without those the place is just beautiful.
“Beautiful wonders :-)”
Aslans pause was the perfect home for family...My kids loved it and that is priceless..Should I say more...Absolutely not...My family will be going back to aslans pause year after year...
“Amazing Peaceful Views where you turn”
We loved our 4 days at aslan's Pause and hope to come back soon. The home is warm, cozy, and welcoming. It has a very homelike feeling. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for Thanksgiving dinner. The beds were very comfy and there were plenty of additional blankets if needed. The weather was beautiful so your eye was constantly drawn to the large spacious porch to see the mountains in the changing light. The garage with game tables was great too. We did go in to asheville but I was anxious to get back to be sure to watch the sunset! Black Mountain was nearby and the little shops in Montreat were just a walk away. The folks at Greybeard's were also very helpful with my questions prior to my visit. The visitor center is right across the street from their office so you can drop in and get the latest info on activities in the area. Lots of hiking and outdoor activities too!
I enjoyed the stay at aslan's Pause. It has a beautiful 180 degree view from the deck over Black Mtn. It is private, at the end of the road. The part-time resident was not in residence at the time. The house is very nice, comfortable. The only disappointment - and it was a personal one.. is that the deck is not as quiet as one would expect in that all of the "valley" noise comes right up to the deck. So, if you are looking for a quiet outdoor experience, this might not be the place for you.
“An amazing and spiritual place to visit”
My wife and I had a wonderful time at aslan's Pause. The view is spectacular. There is a real sense of God's beauty in this place. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get away from city life, even if it's only for a few days.
“Peaceful, beautiful view--lovely house!”
We really enjoyed our stay at aslan's Pause. The back deck with rockers was the perfect place to relax and soak up the fall leaves and autumn sunshine. We loved it!
“Great winter resting spot with a fabulous view!!”
Very cozy cabin on the mountain with an awesome view! The view in the day time is great and at night the lights in the valley below twinkle, it's magical. The rockers on the back porch I'm sure would be a dream place to sit in summer. The place was well stocked, very clean and very cute. Like the local pottery and decorative motif, cozy. Great books and a nice fireplace to curl up by in the winter. Only negative would be in heavy snows or ice, hard to get up and down the mountain. We were fortunate to have arrived after the big snow storm with roads cleared pretty much. Definitely would stay again and recommend to anyone looking to get away from it all!
“Great home for a small family.”
We love the area and our house was perfect for what we were looking for. It was a little small but we were only three friends and it fit our needs great.
“Good stay all around”
I have to say, we were disappointed when we arrived. The view was amazing, so was the house. But the bedding situation is pretty poor. I should have read all the fine print more diligently. But a "futon" is not a "bed." The place has two bedrooms but only one has an actual bed. Thus, for two couples, one ends up having to sleep on a futon. All in all, it was fine--really. But I would maybe bring this up verbally, if possible. Also, I would encourage the owners to put a real bed in the other bedroom. The futon is kind of lame, especially for $200 a night (including the booking fee). Anyway, I don't want to sound too negative. We had a GREAT time!! Thanks, Mitch Byrd
Response from the manager Mitch, we hope you enjoyed your time in Montreat. Thank you for letting us know your concerns. We have changed the wording on our website to better explain the bedding.
