“Breezy Point is a wonderful home away from home.”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2014

I have stayed at Breezy Point for a family vacation and for a retreat with business colleagues, and in each case it has been perfect. Tucked into the beautiful North Carolina mountains above Montreat, this lovely home is comfortably appointed in a wonderful location to both "get away" and access area opportunities for recreation, dining and shopping. Breezy Point is comfortable for a few persons but can also afford space with privacy for a larger family or group. Sitting on the porch watching the sun set over the mountain after a day of activity will find you saying, "I wish we had a place just like this" I don't have a place like Breezy Point, so I'll be going back there!

“Beautiful location; wonderful house”

Reviewed 29 Jul 2014

We held a leadership team retreat at this lovely home in early December. There were 5 of us and we were all very comfortable with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. The layout of the house lends itself to groups such as ours since there is lots of room and privacy but also space for get-togethers. Wonderful views, especially sunrise. Well equipped kitchen and restaurants in Black Mountain and in Asheville, a short drive away. Definitely looking forward to another retreat in this wonderful place.

“Most enjoyable, peaceful and relaxing!!”

We enjoyed our stay in Breeze Point; beautiful home, very comfortable and met all our needs for our family. I would change the picture of this rental property to a frontal view of the home as the side view pictured above does not give it the look it should have for viewing this beautiful property. A special hanks to Susan Cameron, Greybeard Rentals, for all her help with our rental and visit and to the other members of the Greybeard staff. Regards, Bobby Merritt

“Great family reunion property.”

Reviewed 14 Nov 2013

My extended family of 9 adults, coming from all over the U.S., spent a weekend at Breezy Point for a family reunion celebrating my uncle's 100th birthday. He lives in Black Mountain so the location of the property in Montreat was great. The property was a perfect venue for this special occasion with its spaciousness and layout (like two apartments). It was clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Our only regrets are that we could not stay longer and the weather was too cool to enjoy the lovely decks. We definitely would rent Breezy Point again.

“Great place and accomodations for fall retreat!”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2013

This was a great house for our extended family. Two levels, with ground access to each, and with both levels having a master and kitchen, allowed grandparents to be on one level and family with small children on the other. Privacy and togetherness all in one! The house was a dream for the children with games and books and access to great outdoor activities.

“The accomodations were great.”

The weather was a bit warm for Montreat, but that is my only complaint. Everything else was great.

“Wonderful house. Plenty of room”

Reviewed 4 Aug 2010

We loved the property and location, having grown up in Montreat it's always a treat for our family to get together there each summer. However, we won't probably stay in that particular house again. My brother drove his wife up from Spartanburg so she could stay with us while he was out of town. They always travel with their dog because she is 15 years old and aging rapidly. She's a 5 pound toy poodle. My brother stayed for 3 hours with us and had dinner and then drove back to Spartanburg. The dog was never in the house and stayed on the porch the whole time with my brother. However, the neighbors called the owners and told them we had brought a dog and it was in the house. They didn't check with us, just spied on us and reported us. I explained to the realtor when he called that there was not a dog in the house and it would be gone by 6:00 pm. We spent the rest of the week wondering about the neighbors watching our every move and reporting us. It made for a very uncomfortable stay. One I would not want to repeat.

“A Week in the Clouds”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2010

We stayed at Breezy Point with a couple of families who have been friends and traveling with us to Montreat for 30 years. We have a beloved home in Montreat as well but needed a larger accommodation. This was the ideal home, pristine conditions, wireless wi-fi but no TV in great room. Plenty of social room and two great kitchens...plus the exercise of hoofing it up and down appalachian Way several times a day...people make a vacation truly memorable but the setting ran a close second!

“A Lovely Home with all the modern conviencies”

Reviewed 23 Jun 2010

The location was perfect. High on the mountain side with only two cars riding by each day. Very quiet, nice breezes, beautiful furnishings, wireless internet, fully furnished kitchen, king beds were wonderful, and beautiful landscaping. Would not change a thing even if I could. There were plenty of good books to read and games to play.

“An old-fashioned Family Christmas.”

Reviewed 6 Jan 2010

This house is amazing. Perfect for a large family or two. It's very comfortable. Even though we had an unusual storm and the power even went out, we enjoyed the warmth of the gas fireplace and the gas grill provided what we neede for an unforgetable Christmas lunch. We played games and charades and had quality time together. The stream that flows on one side of the house was nice to hear. The view is spectacular. I can only imagine how nice it must be during all the other seasons. The staff at Greybeard was so helpful during our unusual weather events. Our teenage boys even spoke highly of the house and enjoyed having their own space to hang out in. A four-wheel drive vehicle is a must. Thanks.
