Very Good

“big disappointment!”

Reviewed 7 Aug 2014

where do I family and I just stayed there at the end of July. We were in town for huge lacrosse tournament in bend. I feel like they miss represented the property. You would have thought that they would have read all the reviews dating back to 2009. The place was hot, dirty and outdated. It has potential if they would update a few things like paint the tattered walls, get rid of the old and outdated VHS recorders, add air conditioning, replace the uncomfortable furniture, fix or buy a new BBQto replace the unsafe one that is there right now and I could go on and on. I would not recommend this property to anyone.

Response from the manager Thank you for your feedback on 1 Red Alder Ln. These issues have been assessed and addressed. They have all been updated and fixed besides being equipped with A/C. We hope that we may accommodate you and your family in the future. Warm regards, Village Properties in Sunriver

We were two couples staying and this house fit the fact that each couple had privacy with bedrooms & bathrooms being on 2 floors. Although we feel there is some renovation needed, it is a very comfortable home.

Response from the manager Thanks William, I've always liked the nice, light living room in that home and the elevated wrap-a-round deck. Glad it worked for you folks. Rick

“Average experience”

Reviewed 28 Aug 2013

Working with Village Properties was great. They make it so easy to get a vacation rental. The house was a little disappointing though. The upholstery on the couches really need a good cleaning, and he kitchen is sparsely equipped with some of the essentials like pots and pans. Some updating to the decor could be done and that would really make this a nicer place to stay. The location is great (nice and quiet) and is close enough to walk to the Mavericks. Plus it is an easy bike ride to Sharcs. Our kids and their friends really enjoyed the hot tub at the house. We had a great time while we were there, but we probably wouldn't rent this location in the future.

Response from the manager Thanks for the feedback Tom, We will pass your comments on to the owner. Glad you had a good time. Rick

“Comfortable for a family”

Reviewed 10 Aug 2013

The house was clean, comfortable and well-stocked with basic amenities. We liked the upstairs open concept. The location was good - really close to Ft. Rock Park, short drive to the Sharc, marina, village and other fun Sunriver activities. We brought our bikes (the garage was handy to store them) and would have ridden to more places had our kids been a little older. We were surprised that there was no a/c - the house was an oven when we arrived. The thermostat appeared to have been set on max heat. We learned to open the windows at night and close them and the blinds during the day. We slept downstairs, which was comfortable. There's a ceiling fan upstairs but a freestanding fan would have been helpful, as the evenings were still quite warm inside, especially when cooking. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner on the deck - until some baby birds hatched over the outside light. Then we felt guilty and ate inside more. Overall it was a nice house on a nice quiet side street.

Response from the manager Thanks so much Donna, That is a great location. Over 90% of the homes in Sunriver so not have AC and you developed the perfect routine (opening windows at night and closing blinds and windows during the day). You know, we will probably need to charge you extra next time if you get to see more baby birds. :) Rick

“Very good communications and service with rental company.”

Service was five star. Home was nice, surprised by lack of air conditioning and no ceiling fans in rooms to help with summer heat. Everything worked except for very stiff faucet in the kitchen. Would recommend it and do it again in the future.

Response from the manager Thanks so much Ramiro, Sorry about the heat. It's been a hot summer. Only about 5 % of the homes in Sunriver have AC. I like that home as well - especially the elevated wrap-a-round deck. Appreciate your kind comments. Rick

“Great place to stay”

Reviewed 18 Jul 2013

We really enjoyed the home. Kitchen was well stocked with the necessary equipment & plenty of plate, cups, utensils, etc. The set up of 2 rooms downstairs with a living area and 1 room upstairs with another living area was a great set up for multiple families. We loved seeing the deer come out each day usually in the morning. We also loved having breakfast and dinner out on the patio.

Response from the manager Thanks Elisabeth, I like the nice bright living room in that home and the wrap around deck is great for meals. Glad you saw some of the "locals." Rick

“A perfect place for a family reunion!”

Reviewed 1 Jul 2010

Everything was clean and comfortable with enough space for everyone. We loved eating out on the deck under the shade of the umbrella watching the deer stroll by. The kitchen was well-equipped and the hot tub was awesome! The house was too far to easily walk to the village but we enjoyed fun bike rides with the four bikes supplied with the house.

Response from the manager Thanks you for staying with Village Properties, we are glad you enjoyed your stay. We hope you will give us a call when you are ready to plan your next vacation!

“Beautiful Time in SunRiver”

Reviewed 22 Jan 2010

Having rented multiple times in Sunriver, I have come to expect a high level of service and good quality homes on each trip. This one was no different, as usual my rental agreements and information was handled on-line, and I even got a call the day I was traveling to confirm my visit and to remind me of my options if I am late. The house I stayed in was well taken care of, it had a complete complement of kitchen goods for cooking -- which we did. Our favorite part was using the hot tub after a long day of skiing. The house even had a garage for us to park our jeep and keep it our of the snow. Overall great time and, for us anyway, typical of the experience we have each time in Sunriver.

Response from the manager Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay with us in Sunriver. We are so pleased to know that your overall stay in 1 Red Alder Ln. was a pleasant experience. We look forward to accommodating you and your family in the future. Warm regards, Village Properties in Sunriver

“Great Service, Not So Great House”

Reviewed 19 Aug 2009

We have been clients of Village Properties for about 20 years. I want to start off by saying that the service we receive is always outstanding. We have always been extremely pleased with the homes we've rented, however our latest rental was not up to par. The beds were very uncomfortable. The gas BBQ did not light. The towels were so old and worn they should be torn up and used as cleaning rags. The house smelled badly, but with an overwhelming odor of "Febreze" obviously to try and cover up the bad smell. And the worst of it is, the rate for this rental was HIGHER than several of the other homes we've stayed in that were MUCH nicer. If we choose Village Properties again, it will be because your service is top notch, but I will look at the rental with a much more discerning eye. We were very disappointed.

Response from the manager Thank you for submitting your feedback regarding your stay in Sunriver. We are sorry to hear that your overall experience in 1 Red Alder Ln. was not pleasant. We have addressed these issues within the unit and they have been assessed, so that future tenants can be accommodated during their stay. We hope to further accommodate you and your family in the near future. Warm regards, Village Properties in Sunriver
