What a great place to stay! Location, people, beach, clean, spacious, quiet! All in all this place has it all. I enjoyed my stay and plan on staying here again.
“Simply awesome - home away from home - Ahhh Kahana!”
We recently stayed a second time at the Kahana Village after a 5 year hiatus. It was like time stood still - the same high quality, very well manicured village was there to greet us. During our first say we tried one of the deluxe, ocean front 3 bedroom units and it was awesome. This time around we stayed in a unit with an "ocean view" and was a simpler 2 bedroom (one is a loft) unit. While there are some minor differences over-all the experience was identical! The team that supports the village are top notch, friendly and always available. As long as Kahana Village is around - we won't stay anywhere else on Maui.
This is the second time we have stayed in this location, and this is the 3rd unit we have stayed in. Both units last time were stellar, however this time this unit is falling apart. It needs major updating and repair, Draws in the kitchen were broken, missing many kitchen utensils. The closets in the room were off the hinges and it was a constant battle to get things out of there. Light bulbs were burnt out TV remotes missing. Tv and Wifi were not always working, had to reset the devices twice in a week. Microwave making a very loud noise so we did not use it. Found rusted safety pins imbedded in the carpet as well. Screaming kids in the pool till late hours and management did not do anything.
“Superb value with absolutely zero hassle and an incredible view”
They provide all you already need, so there was not really any need to request more once we arrived. The home we stayed in was the standard level unit with an ocean view(not "ocean front prime"), and that was more than adequate enough. You have everything you need--just about any appliance you would need(fridge, stove, microwave, tupperware, stainless steel utensils, etc.). This is located about 3 miles north of Ka'anpaili and is about a 15 minute drive to downtown Lahaina. Very convenient in that regard for West Maui. There isn't much rain here compared with the resorts more to the north of it. Kahana beach is an okay beach. By far what I liked best was the value for what we paid; the rooms are clean, spacious, and well worth the money. As for cons, our unit was not perfect--the bathroom looked dated, we had a slight ant problem in the upper loft, and the lower room was adjacent to the parking lot an therefore susceptible to noise(but we slept upstairs, far enough away from the lot).
My Cousin and I stayed in Unit #17 from Dec 1-15 and it was the perfect vacation. It was my cousins first time visiting Hawaii and I know we will both be back. The view was wonderful--of course as long as I can see the ocean I am happy. With just a few steps to the pool and the ocean who could ask for anything more. The Wednesday get together was great it is so nice to meet others from the complex in a nice relaxed manner. With the Bbq's located where they are you get to talk to everyone. I think the size of the complex makes it much nicer than being stuck in a large impersonal hotel.Vicky and her staff make it a very personal experance. The grounds are kept in perfect condition. Unit #17 was perfect --it felt like we were right at home. The was nothing more you could ask for.
Kahana Village is so conveniently located. We enjoyed their private beach and had easy access to other nearby beaches. Golf is available just 5 minutes north and wonderful shopping and dining 5 minutes south. The facility is quiet and relaxing. Each Wednesday evening they hosted a happy hour by the pool and we met some nice people from other parts of the country. We had a fabulous two weeks at Kahana Village and plan to return in the future.
we had a great time and thank you for your space The grounds keepers where working hard to keep it all so nice, the pool was clean and so was the BBQ space The space had all the extras to make meals It would be nice to have more tha one cleaning in a week even if there is no linen changes but just an extra wipe down, vac We had plenty of trash bags and supplies to do dishes It was the best morning view and sunset as well the kids enjoyed the nice beach area Mai Tai night was fun and the drinks Yum Yum I will happily return Need to get my champagne glasses next time Thank you Elaine
“Great Family Vacation”
We had an excellent stay at Kahana Village. The location was great. The views were amazing. The grounds, pool and barbecues were in great shape and clean. It was nice to have the little beach in front of the complex for afternoon swims. The staff at Kahana were helpful and friendly. Units #16 was comfortable and had everything we need, although it could use some remodeling/updating. All in all we had a great stay.
“the best choice”
clear pre-check-in instructions, spacious condo with gorgeous ocean front view.
“Most Excellent - Trip of a life time - 1 more item off my bucket”
Unit/rsort facilities was exactly as described. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Best of all worlds with the beach/pool/hot tub on site. Note: no aC for us poor CDN smucks that melt when the temp. goes over 75F! Activities we enjoyed; - Walk the beach to see Sea Turtles feeding - Swimming in the ocean at the resort - very good...stay to the left side of the beach to avoid the rocks. - Whale watching from our lani and also an excursion with Pacific Whale Foundation - Very good. At this time of season there are not many whales thus I would make a point of returning during the peak of whalewatch season which is typically in Feb. and March - Snorkeling excursion with aqua adventures to Molokini Crater snorkle - excellent! - 5/5 stars. Excellent Cpt.+Crew - 35 people max. on boat (although Hanauma Bay on Oahu is even better to see fish up close). - Atlantis Submarine excursion - dove to 130 ft. - very good but no match for snorkleing to see the true colours of the fish. Considered it a once in a life time chance...How many people can say they have been in a sub. - Road to Hana - good, but very long day. Start early. The black sand beach is a must see. You don't necessarily need to drive all the way to Hana as it is virtually the same all the way...suggest returning after seeing the black sand beach. Also, get a map/audio tour cd from the resort office as it is very interesting and helpful...stop at mile marker 6 to see the painted bark Eucalyptus trees as this is the only place we seen them. - Royal Lahaina luau - excellent - we paid extra to be at the front...not really required - 10minutes from the resort - I would recommend renting a surf or paddle board while at the resort. Also, next time I would take my own snorkle equipment. Search the web for best snorkling loactions. - The more homework you complete before going to Hawaii the more you will be prepared and enjoy it. - We rented our car from alamo - extra $13/day for 2nd driver...Wtf is that?
