“No a.C., Really???”
I would like to first start with the positive of our trip to Kahana Village, which is located on Maui and say that the location was beautiful, with a wonderful private beach. Now lets get to why I gave this property a low score, when I had called to make the reservation I was very clear that we needed all amenities and comfort, because my father had just gone through a huge cancer surgery, followed with radiation and had completed the radiation just two weeks prior to the trip. I was told that they understood and that he will be more than comfortable at their location, so we went ahead and booked the condo for nine nights and after tax the room was close to $4000.00. When we arrived the temperature was close to 90, with a humidity of around 80%, which made the temperature feel closer to 100. So we walk into the condo and find we have no a.C. and the mattress springs on the downstairs bedroom are worn-out, so I call and talk to the office and they tell me that the only condo on site that has a.C. is booked solid for the next three weeks, which unfortunately doesn't help my Dad. I then go down to talk to the front desk again the next day in the office and to my amazement the office has a.C and feels like I just walked into a refrigerator, which I really don't understand, so let me get this right, if your a local and are used to the Maui climate you need a.C., but if your from Oregon and just had cancer surgery, then you don't so much need a.C., again they tell me nothing can be done, but instead offer me a couple of fans, thanks a lot??? So because the mattress springs are worn-out on the downstairs bed, my Dad's forced to now sleep upstairs, where it's even hotter still, are you kidding me? This was my 6th time to the Islands, but my first without a.C., so the bottom line is if you want to be able to sleep at night, then don't stay at Kahana Village, find another location, you'll be much happier!!!
We spent 9 days in Unit 21 of Kahana Village, and it was great. The condo is extremely well maintained and beautiful. The unit was outstanding, well equipped and confortable. We never went out for dinner because the kitchen is superb and the BBQ area in the condo is all you need. If you want to stay in Kahana by all means get an upstairs beachfront unit - your dollars will be well spent. We sat on our patio every evening watching the sunset and congratulating ourselves for being there. We had a very late departure on our last day and the Management let us stay until evening at no extra charge - thank you! Great Location, great vacation, just perfect. One suggestion: we were a party of 5 and there are only 4 high chairs on the patio, would be nice to have one more...
“Wonderful Stay in Maui”
We very much enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, well-furnished condo, just steps from the water, with a perfect view of the sunsets from our waterfront balcony. The condo is nicely located in a quiet neighborhood north of Lahaina, but within a quick drive to the city's shops and nightlife. Easily accessible from the airport and to major sightseeing locations. Our family enjoyed the pool, BBO, and the Mai Tai party. Everything about our stay was perfect.
“A week in paradise!”
We spent a week in this fabulous condo in paradise. The on site managers were very friendly and answered any questions we had. The condo itself was beautiful and we really did want to leave when the week was over. We loved the view and the closeness to the ocean. Our youngest son loved to play in water right in front of our condo. I loved the fact I could just sit on the lanai and watch him! It really was a week in paradise!
“Great Condo to stay in”
This unit was truly well maintained and equipped. It was an ocean front condo with fabulous views. The staff were terrific and very helpful. The resort is smaller than most and much more enjoyable and relaxing than others we have stayed at on Maui.
The accomodations were palatial. The view magnificent! Such a combination was only made better by my adult girls joining me there. Everything we needed was already there and any quesitons we had were gratiously answered by Curtis. It truly was the best vacation we've had. Thank you so much.
“It was awesome and very relaxing!!!”
We were there for a week, first time in Maui. Kahana Village was great. The resort was beautiful. We had stayed at the ocean front view complex. We stayed at unit 21 (Luxury) and 27 (Deluxe). I recommend the Luxury ocean front view, you pay a little bit more but it is worth the relaxation. Unit 21 was newly remodel so everything spectacular and nicely decorated. There are no air conditioning in any of the units. Since I was there in april, I didn't need it. The breeze from the ocean was enough. It can get cold at time. Don't know what it would be like in the summer months, without air conditioning :). The owner in unit 21, thought of everything for their guests. It have binoculars, list for TV channels, even playing cards. I would definitely come back for unit 21 or any of the luxury ocean front property. Kahana Village is close to Lahaina, Front St. Shopping and dining, and only a few blocks from Kaapali Beach. You can go snorkeling there for free and get to see all kinds of fishes and turtles, not to mention it is such a beautiful beach. The beach at the Kahana Village is not great for swimming. Water is not clear and it is a small beach. I think it is more for the view than for swimming. It does have a nice pool and spa. As I mention, the Kaapali Beach is only a few blocks away.
“Excellent accomodations and location”
We were extremely happy to have our stay at Kahana Village exceed our expectations. From the helpful and accomodating staff to the breathtaking views and the clean and well appointed rental unit. We loved having the balcony doors and windows open all night so we could hear the crashing waves and ocean sounds. It was so soothing and peaceful. The kids really enjoyed using the boogie boards and having the beach at your door was priceless. We will definitely by back!
“Great place to stay right on the beach.”
My husband and I stayed in unit #21, which is fully Re-modeled. Beautiful unit right on the beach with open kitchen and balcony right over the ocean. Great whale watching and sunsets and good food all around the area. We stayed 11 nights and I cried upon leaving... He only Complait would be linens, sheets and bedspreads. They all need replacing.
The condo had all the amenities you could think of, the grounds were beautiful, the pool and cabanna area were so functional - We only went out to eat a few times because the condo and the BBQ, pool and lawn area, right on the beach, were to good to leave! The staff was execeptional, and we made quite a few new friends. All the stores and shopping are very close, and of course, the beach...so many wonderful areas to spend your time. Saw lots of turtles this trip!
