“Nice but outdated”

Reviewed 11 Jul 2016

Nice and roomy but furnishing and artwork a really outdated and the air-conditioner barely worked . This was our second time staying there the grounds are well-maintained and the pools are very nice and the view was beautiful

Response from the manager Queen size sofa sleeper new as of Sep '16. New carpet as of Oct '16.

“beautiful !”

We are 3 couples, one with a grown-up daughter. The living room and kitchen is a bit small for 7 persons. The bedroom on the second floor is completely open to the living room, therfore one family had to live with little privacy, though they managed to create some by handing some bedsheets over the railers. Other than that, everything is great, and the view from the main bedroom and balcony is superb. The reception is nice and helpful. Most improtantly, the beach is nice, quite and easily accessible. It is much better than those famous beaches on the island ! We enjoyed the stay very much!

“Not bad for the money, but everything is old in the condo”

Reviewed 24 May 2013

Good location, close but not too close to highway/main roads, decent stores close by - walking distance. Beach - not at te resort but walking distance. Nice snorkeling with turtles. The inside of the condo is well equiped but everything is old (fridge no ice...). After a storm we found a cockroach in the living room - were told bugs are normal. Main complaing would be no direct service - you have a problem you have to call Chase 'N Rainbows, on site people can not help you with almost nothing if you have a problem.

“Clean but needs upgrading”

Reviewed 2 May 2013

My family of 6 adults and one child enjoyed our stay at Papakea. The grounds were immaculate, the pools warm and clean. Our condo D402 was clean and well stocked with kitchen supplies and bath towels. We had pre-ordered beach towels and a playpen and were there upon our arrival. The condo itself is quite dated. The mattress on the king-sized bed in the master bedroom needs replacement and it was sunken. The bathrooms need new bathtubs / showers, the windows were rusted around the edgesand the air conditioner really only keeps the living room cool and we found it to be very loud. as well the couch in the living room was more of an outside furniture looking one and I couldn't imagine considering sleeping on it.A sign on the door asked us to remove our shoes , however, the rug that was throughout the condo was not worthy of bare feet. It definitely needs to be replaced. Our family rented a total of 7 condos at Papakea and only 2 of them were modern and updated. Overall we enjoyed our stay, however, we probably would stay somewhere different and more updated than the condo we rented.

“Exactly as advertised”

We had an excellent family vacation at this unit. It is a spacious and well laid out floor plan that easily accommodated us all (7) Although this unit is a little older on the interior, it is very clean and has an excellent view over the fish ponds, pool and a very decent ocean view. The price of this unit reflects the older décor and over all is an excellent value. The wireless network in the unit was intermittent but I'm sure could have been addressed if it was important. Excellent swimming beaches within walking distance and incredible ones within driving distance (15 min)Very satisfied with our stay in this beautiful resort.

“Relaxing stay with all amenities in a great, convenient location”

Reviewed 7 Feb 2013

Roomy comfortable condo that satisfied almost all of our needs except it wasnt beach front but close enough to some of the best beaches on Maui. We played tennis, shuffleboard and swam at heated pool and spa on site. View of ocean was good enough. Very convenient.

“Great Place to stay”

Reviewed 7 Jun 2012

Papakea was a great place to stay, it was clean, quiet and extremely well kept. It was a great location, everything we needed was within walking distance and only needed the car if we were going on an adventure.

“Paradise”

Reviewed 31 May 2012

With the ocean at your door Papakea is one of the best places to stay for your dollar. We have been staying at Papakea since our kids were small and keep coming back with and without them. Great location for water fun, fishing, food and shopping. Restaurants close by as well as any tours can be booked from the lobby. We have never ever had a bad stay at Papkea's. D402 is a great unit for the money we easily fit 6 adults in this room. I recommend Papakea to all.

“Loved the Location”

Reviewed 9 Feb 2012

We stayed in Unit D402 with 2 other couples. Wooden stairway to the loft was open and very narrow so we usually hung onto the rungs in the railing for safety. The kitchen was so fully stocked (with the exception of a salad spinner) with cookware and utensils that you could cook a turkey! We loved the fact that there was a mini mall with a grocery store just across the street. We will definitely stay in a Papakea unit the next time we visit Maui.

“Fun & relaxing”

Great amenities, close to Lahaina (My favorite town). Used the BBQ for dinner most nights then enjoyed the sunset.
