“Spectacular. That is all you need to know.”
This is the perfect NCI family house to stay in. No other home offers such a child friendly environment. All the kids loved their room and bath, especially claiming a bunk of their favorite color. The out door kitchen next to pool was essential & well used. Our children said "awesome" to the hot tub and colored pool lights at night. Us mom's loved the layout & privacy so much we are already planning next years trip to BlueFin. Thank you for a brilliant vacation.
“Perfect family retreat”
Bluefin Beach House was perfect for our family. We were meeting up from Seattle, Chicago and upstate New York. This home had plenty of room for everyone to be comfortable and nobody was "stuck" with a lesser bedroom, since BBH has 3 wonderful master bedrooms. The food provisioning - having groceries purchased and stored in the house before you get there - worked great for us. The owners have clearly been very conscientious about providing everything a family needs while staying on North Captiva Island, in the kitchen, for the beach, and around the pool and spa. We used the baby and kid packages for our 1 year old and 3 year old - and they are perfect. Even on a cooler, rainy day, the crafts available for kids was there to use. While we loved walking the beach and making sand sculptures, the gulf water was just a bit too cold - so the heated pool and spa at BBH were again perfect for our situation. Everyone enjoyed jumping in the pool during the day and relaxing in the hot tub in the evening. We have now stayed in 5 houses on North Captiva Island and never in the same one twice, but next visit we will definitely try to stay at the Bluefin Beach House again. It was just perfect.
“Great home with all the amenities you would need”
The Bluefin Beach House is a luxury home on a quiet beach road within a few footsteps of gulf. The house was very clean and state of the art. My wife and I loved the bamboo floors which were very comfortable to walk on which was a nice change from tile which tends to get cold. The appliances in the kitchen were really nice with the gas range, two dishwashers, large refrigerator, trash compactor and the microwave/range combination. The infrared gas grill on the deck came in very handy a couple nights for grilling our dinner. We also loved the sound system in the house. We particularly used it when we were in the pool area - usually in the afternoon. The pool area was awesome with all the appliances, shower, and the bathroom right there. The pool and spa were perfect - we couldn't ask for anything better. We also loved tooling around the island in the golf cart. I'm sure I'm missing a few things but all in all it was great! The owner, Mandy, was very responsive to any questions we had and was very accomodating. Jason, the on-island property manager picked us up at the ferry and spent a good deal of time showing us the features of the home and the informed us about what to do on the island. Thanks for a wonderful vacation.
“Blue Fin - great place to stay!”
The house was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay! It was well maintained...it was nice having the iPod/iphone dock to play our music at the pool as well as in the house. the pool and hot tub got lots of use! It was stocked with lots of amenities. They thought of everything! The beach is a short walk from the house and is very nice. we were there during low season so it was very quiet and relaxing. we would see a few people down the beach a distance or walking the beach... but very quiet. Be sure to stock lots of groceries especially in low season. (i brought a bit more then we needed...) so hopefully the cleaning girl enjoyed what was left! Our rental included the use of 2 golf carts as well as bicycles...beach chairs...and beach toys. Also a Club membership for use of the Kayaks and the club pool both of which we used one day. We kept things pretty relaxed but did enjoy the jet ski view of the island too! our 3 year old loved the turtles and would go looking for the ones close to the house every day. enjoyed watching a school of dolphins not far from the beach. the only thing i would change is have it beach front...and possibly not have the house next door so close. We were looking for a rental with 3 master suites for my husband and I... two grown kids and their spouses so this fit the bill perfectly ! Loved the kids bunk room! we only needed it for (1) 3 year old. however it is a great setup for families with kids! as a grandmother i would love to use the design somewhat in my house for grandkids! Low key...you will arrive by ferry (or private plane) . if you want night life and clubs this is not the place for you! If you have someone who cant take the stairs then don't rent this house. I loved the exercise of walking up 3 flights of stairs! many times a day...sometimes carrying a 3 year old!
“Perfect family Vacation rental home”
We had a great stay at Bluefin. The layout of the home was just perfect and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. We loved the view of the ocean and sitting on the screened porches just relaxing and taking in the beautiful atmosphere of the island. The kids loved the outside bed swing and the bunk beds. The pool was really clean and the spa only took a short time to heat up to use in the evenings. We also liked that the pool had an outdoor bathroom as well. This home had everything we needed for the perfect family getaway. We love N Captiva island because it is just peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing. This is the place to go to enjoy family and friends and the beach.
We were on the Bluefin Beach House for the second time and again we had a perfect vacation. We were 2 families with 4 kids and enjoyed the comfortable house. We cooked a lot, what was an easy thing with two dishwashers. Barbecue was much easier this time since there was a gas grill on the same floor than the kitchen.
This home was awesome Great views! We had 8 adults and there was still plenty of room. We spent a lot of time by the pool listing to music. The pool was heated and was facing the sun. The Spa was nice too when it was a little cooler or at night. This place is great for relaxing and getting away from it all. The home was very clean and new! Amanda was always very responsive to any questions we had. I would definitely recommend this rental! Thank you for a great time!
Our family stayed at Bluefin Beach House late Dec and early Jan. The house is immaculate and well maintained. Enjoyed the home and all it's amenities. The ocean temperatures were much cooler than expected, therefore getting in the ocean is not an option, but the air temps were nice enough to enjoy the beaches. Bring lots of groceries because the restaurant choices are very limited and expensive, and the small grocery store has very few items on hand. Traveling to and from the mainland can be expensive for larger groups. We will definitely return during warmer times to enjoy the ocean and stay at this house which is one of the newer, nicer homes on the island.
“Peaceful and Perfect”
When looking for a vacation spot, you always are a little wary of what you are getting, there is no question with this one. You get exactly what you see, and could not wish for anything more. This place was perfect! If you are looking to get away from the daily grind and spend quality time with family and friends but do not want to be caught in a crowd, this is the place for you. The kitchen had everything a chef would need and the rest of the house had everything else. You could tell that the owners took time when building and thought of everything. Between time at an almost private beach, the swimming pool, the hot tub, and amenities of the clubhouse my children ages 8, 9, 16, 18 along with the other family that joined my wife and I we never found ourselves trying to plan our next day. Whether it was breakfast on the balcony, sunsets on the beach, or shelling in the state park, we found that time almost stood still. We had fun fishing in the Gulf at night and Kayaking with the dolphins in Pine Island Sound. Communicating with the owners was simple with all of my questions answered in a timely manner. We are looking forward to our next stay, bringing more family, and showing them what a real vacation is all about
“Our Bluefin Beach House adventure”
Our stay at Bluefin Beach House was for a glorious 2 weeks in early July and all of us found it to be the perfect beach house on a great island. There were so many great things - the 3 king master suites and the kids bunk room all with their own unique bathrooms, the large 3rd floor living space with an exquisite kitchen and screened in deck, the screened in deck on the second floor complete with a swinging bed, the docking stations for music throughout the house and, of course, the fantastic pool area. After getting a tour of Bluefin Beach House by Captain Steve, we all quickly settled into a comfortable routine of relaxed breakfasts, lots of beach and pool time, family dinners and sunsets. We even managed two fishing trips. We did use Captain Steve to ferry us on and off the island and more importantly for the provisioning services. This service was the best and I highly recommend it. We also purchased the baby and kids packages which provided all we needed for our almost 6 year old, almost 5 year old, 18 month old and 4 month old grandchildren. I cannot describe to you all the amenities that are a part of this house. The owners, Mandy & John, thought of everything and even had a book in the house describing the process of building Bfbh which added a whole new sense of appreciation. The kitchen was complete with all that we needed and more and there was an abundant supply of things like paper towels, laundry/cleaning supplies and beach and bath towels. North Captiva Island itself is a special place and lends itself to a way of life that we truly enjoyed. No cars, no shopping malls and no getting dressed up! Loved it! Mandy, John and Captain Steve kept in touch during the entire process and always responded to my emails quickly and with good advice. I now realize that part of the "fun” was all of the planning leading up to a great 2 week stay for our family at Bluefin Beach House!
