“Felt as comfortable as home.”

Reviewed 9 Apr 2015

My family enjoyed our stay. The apartment has everything you need and what it doesn't have you can get around the corner. Clean apartment with comfortable pillows! Close to transportation and the quaint streets of Montmartre.

Response from the owner Sounds like you really got to know our wonderful neighborhood and small specialty stores for food and other needs. Not often we get a mention of pillows but these are very important to us and therefore our to guests - we make sure they are comfortable and replace them often. Hope to see you again in Paris or Nice [327259]

“Living in Paris for one Week-Glorious!”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2014

My husband and I wanted to LIVE in Paris for one week. We were so fortunate to find Le Tresor located on a gorgeous, quiet street in one of the most beautiful parts of Paris. It's a lovely neighborhood and the apartment is first class. While there I took a cooking class at Le Cordon Bleu, which was very easy to get to by the Metro, one block from Le Tresor. Another great thing to do in the area is take a market tour with Cookin' with Class and they'll take you on a tour of the best Patisseries and Boulangeries in Montmartre. Fun, informative and delicious. Ralph and Karen were great at communicating beforehand which put us quite at ease, as this was the first time we rented internationally. I look forward to going back again! and again! Jayne and Jeff- Florida

Response from the owner Jayne: it sounds like you really got to experience the Parisian lifestyle during your visit. When we bought the apartment, we did so we could live there - we loved the area since it's close to the touristy stuff yet when you get back each day, you get the local experience with lots of great restaurants & food shops + locals who are friendly. Didn't work out for us to live there full time but we feel like its home every time we get to stay. Glad you were able to get to enjoy our home and hope to see you again in Paris or Nice. Thanks again

“Excellent Vacation in Paris”

Reviewed 23 Aug 2014

Our experience was just wonderful. This gorgeous apartment offered everything we needed to have a pleasant and comfortable stay in Paris. Ralph and his team were well organized and everything worked according to the plan and what was promised. Farah, Jalal and Paymon from San Diego, California.

Response from the owner Farah: Thank you for your kind words and the call after you returned home. We work hard to ensure that our guests have a great experience while at our apartment and in Paris. Knowing in advance what our guests concerns are and "must does" during the visit, are a big help so we can send you the information needed and help in your planning of what is often a hectic schedule to get in all the sites. In fact we will have a couple of 'what to expect' fact sheets to send to guests to hopefully ease the planning. Also we try to talk to prospective guests during the booking process so we can cover many of the questions that may arise. Thanks again - hope to see you again in Paris or Nice [#327259]. “Great apartment, convenient for metro”

Reviewed 8 Jan 2014

The apartment was great for our family - two adults and our 18 and 16 year old daughters. We loved being able to all be in an apartment, rather than have to get two hotel rooms. This meant that we could go out in the morning, come back and lounge around in the afternoon for a while and have a coffee before going out again into the cold. It was nice to be able to grab a baguette and some other supplies locally then come back and eat together at the table. The bathroom was excellent, with three girls wanting to do makeup and hair that's very important! A lot of mirror and bench space, and a good shower. There is a tiny lift to the apartment - although we walked up the stairs most of the time while we were staying, it was great to have the lift initially to get the suitcases upstairs. The apartment was very convenient for the metro - just head up the stairs just outside the apartment and turn right, it's only a couple of minutes' walk. We usually bought a Mobilis ticket which gave us a day's travel and was very economical. The owners were very helpful with communication and answering any queries we had, and everything went very smoothly. We will definitely be recommending this apartment to our family and friends.

Response from the owner Thanks for a great review and glad you had a enjoyable visit to Paris and our wonderful part of the city. Nothing quite like grabbing a baguette [or pastry] from one of the nearby boulangeries and enjoying in your "own apartment". We intentionally made the bathroom 'large' by Parisian standards for exactly the reasons you state and included separate washer & drier for those urgent laundry needs - beats a hotel where you have to send laundry out!! Yes, the lift is tiny, as are many in old parisian apartment buildings where they were installed many years after the stair case - amazing how the stairwell can be used quite effectively. You reminded us that we need to mention to our guests that the Navigo metro/bus pass can be good deal for unlimited travel - particularly if you are there for a week and plan to come back to Paris, since it can just be recharged each time. It was great working with you and we look forward to 'seeing' you again. All the best for 2014

“Hidden Gem in the heart of Paris”

Reviewed 13 Sep 2013

We stayed at Le Trésor de Montmartre in august 2013. Our first impression was that it was immaculate and beautifully presented. The décor and the furnishing were exquisite. The rooms were clean and tidy with a good layout and plenty of room for the four of us. We were greeted by a really nice guy called Dave who gave us good advice which we really appreciated. The apartment is situated in a great place with cafes, local shops and bars and of course the Sacre Coeur, the metro is within walking distance and is ideal for getting around Paris. We look forward to returning to Paris and staying at Le Trésor de Montmartre again in the near future.

Response from the owner Thanks for your kind words. The apartment was renovated and decorated for us to live in it and we keep it that way so that it feels like home when we visit too!. Always good to hear guests enjoying the neighborhood & getting a true Parisian experience. We look forward to welcoming you again to Paris or Nice [Emirates flies direct to NCE from Dubai!!]

“Great place to stay in Paris”

Reviewed 27 Jun 2013

We just went back from Paris and spent a wonderful week in this lovely apartment with our 3-year baby girl. The place is very cozy and decorated with good taste. Like everyone said, it's more like home instead of short-rent. The location is very good, 5 min walk from Metro and surrounded by various backeries and groceries. Just two things: one is the cleanliness of the kettle and washer/dryer can be imprvoed; the other is, the supermarket around the corner downstairs (Dia) is not very good, I would recommend you go a bit further to buy food in neighbour groceries or other markets, like Frankprix or Monoprix (around 2-3 blocks away with 15 min walk.) In any case, this was a very pleasent stay, and we enjoyed it very much. Will recommend to friends.

Response from the owner Glad you enjoyed your stay at our apartment - we furnished & decorated for us to live there - maybe one day!! Thanks also for your comment about washer/drier - sorry about that, this has been passed on to our cleaner for action - this is usually not the case. For most immediate food needs DIA is quite good - its handy and prices are good - certainly Franprix & Champion [10-15 min walk] have bigger selection & prices. As always, the local grocers, bakeries and butchers around the corner, have wonderful produce etc. Thanks again for staying

“Experience Paris Like a Parisian”

Reviewed 15 May 2013

My first trip to Paris but can't imagine doing it any other way. Ralph and David made everything from arrival to departure as simple as possible, and we really did feel like locals. The apartment is beautifully appointed; the bathroom is enormous (enough for 3 ladies to primp at once!); and with the Metro stop right up the steps we had all of Paris at our disposal. Even when we were completely walked-out La Bonne Cochonnerie Boulanger and Cafe Le Refuge were less than 5 minutes away to restore us. I can't recommend Le Tresor Montmartre highly enough (just as long as it's available the next time I return!).

Response from the owner Kristen: Glad you had a great time & got that wonderful 'local' feeling! Le Refuge is a gem and full of locals [since its right at entrance to metro] - prices are right too!! Hope we see you again & thanks for great review. R&K

“Elegant Gem in Great Parisian Neighborhood”

Reviewed 1 Apr 2013

If you want to take advantage of the Parisian lifestyle and not feel like you're in the middle of a sea of tourists, then this is the place to stay. It was so nice to get up in the morning, walk a few minutes to buy fresh breads and pastries, stop and buy some fruit, then maybe pick up a bottle of wine for later. There were also a large selection of cafes, restaurants and bars to chose from. Several nice restaurants including French, Italian, Japanese, Chinese and even a Thai restaurant were an easy walk from the apartment. The Metro Station was a five minute walk from the apartment along with several bus stops in between. Once you mastered the public transportation system of Paris, it was so easy to get to any part of the City. There were always Metro Stations outside all the main attractions. The Sacre-Couer Cathedral and Dali Museum were a short walk up the hill over cobblestone streets with several great restaurants and shops along the way. The Le Lapin agile, a 19th-century cabaret that is still going strong is along the way. Probably the best thing about the apartment are the Owners Ralph and Karen Moorhouse. Early e-mail communications made getting information, airport pick-up, and where to go and what to do in Paris very easy. The Owners put together "manuals for dummies" ranging on everything from how to use the apartment, hand drawn maps showing the recommended restaurants, metro-stations, grocery stores and bakeries, etc. With a printer and a WiFi connection, I was able to check-in for our flight and print boarding passes thru my laptop. The kitchen was small but having a kitchen with a stove, coffee pot and refrigerator made breakfast and snacks convenient. The washer and dryer were a big plus. So after a long day of shopping and sight seeing, it was nice to come back to the neighborhood, sit and have a drink at one of the many cafes, then come home to the apartment. Staying here, you truly get to experience the Parisian Lifestyle.

Response from the owner Dave: thanks for great review and capturing the essence of why we love the fact reading your comments made us quite homesick!! It was a pleasure working with you to maximize your Parisian experience & hope to see you again soon. R&K

“Comfortable apartment”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2013

From the initial email the owners were very friendly and helpful, David the greeter at the apartment was very friendly and helpful too, despite the fact I didn't text him to let home know our flight was late. Oops. Sorry David, because their were two door codes I got it into my head that we were going to let ourselves in so I was very embarrassed not to have let him know. The apartment is as described, but be aware the kitchen is tiny, we stayed over Christmas and I certainly couldn't have cooked a festive meal in the kitchen. It has everything you need to make breakfast or a snack though, several coffee machines, kettle, toaster, hob and microwave. Plenty of dishes and other kitchen supplies. I hate microwaves and didn't realise that there wasn't a separate oven. I know most people don't mind microwaves but oven was listed as well as microwave so I assumed it would be two pieces of equipment, not just a microwave that grilled etc. The bathroom was large with lashings of very hot water, the apartment was perfectly clean and the bed was very comfortable. We only used the heating once ( it was weirdly mild for December) but it worked very well. You can hear the neighbours now and then but it was not a nuisance in any way, just normal apartment noise. The street outside is quiet, with no traffic noise etc., very peaceful sleep. The area around the apartment is full of shops, restaurants, bars etc with everything you need. Very handy!! It is easy to travel any where in Paris on the Metro. The apartment was very comfortable indeed and a small problem with the wifi was fixed very quickly and efficiently. I would recommend this lovely apartment to anyone looking for all the comforts of home.

Response from the owner Glad you had a great visit - think the cold weather came after you left ;-)!! Sorry about misunderstanding about microwave - For future guests we will be sure to explain that the microwave is in-fact an multipurpose unit that can also serve as convection oven - several guests have baked or cooked roasts using just the oven settings. We have a detailed use explanation in the User Guide
