“Perfect weekend accommodations in abingdon, Va”

Reviewed 11 Mar 2013

We loved the Park St. Guest House, where every detail has been considered. The house is beautifully decorated and appointed. The distance to town is perfect. Each day we walked the one block to Main St. and enjoyed browsing in the stores and learning the local history from an abundance of historic markers around the town. Loved the restaurant which is less then half a block from the guest house, as well as Rain and other local eateries downtown. We walked the Creeper Trail, as well, always returning to our charming cottage to relax and recharge. We will definitely be back to enjoy this lovely guest house and the hospitality of our hostess.

Response from the owner I really enjoy seeing my guests take part in all the various pleasures....out "on the hoof" and inside enjoying your tea and book...the Guest House and its immediate area provide. I'm sorry the Farmers' Markets hadn't gotten underway yet, but you had beautiful weather for walking the town, learning the VA Creeper Trail and wandering the shops. Please come and visit us again...The pace will pick up from here on into the summer with music, theatre, various recreational programs.....and ever better weather. Thanks for coming and for your review. Safe travels...Janet

“Charming, spacious, and welcoming cottage”

Whether you are visiting beautiful abingdon, Virginia for just a fun weekend or staying in town for a month, you can find no better location than to stay at the Park Street Guest House, conveniently located right next to the Virginia Creeper Trail, and minutes from the historic Barter Theatre. This adorable 2-bedroom, 2.5 bath cottage had a lovely, welcome atmosphere... plenty of luxurious towels and sheets, an everything-you-need-is-right-here kitchen and an inviting, open layout, which made settling in quick and easy. My husband and I appreciated the proximity to all of abingdon's tourist attractions and fine restaurants, not to mention a fabulous yarn store in the cottage's back yard, and the hostess puts all the information you could possibly need at your fingertips. Gracious, friendly, and very helpful, Janet Woolwine has a true gem with the Park Street Guest House, at 134 Park Street in abingdon, Va.

“Great cottage - great town - This is the place to stay.”

I have stayed at this cottage twice over the last 6 months. The cottage is great, it is so close to restaurants, downtown, and the creeper trail that you don't even have to drive unless you want to. The screened in back porch is a wonderful place to enjoy an early morning cup of coffee, or sit there at night and read a good book. It is an easy stroll to main street, where in either direction you can find something to do. Just next door is where you can rent a bike for the Creeper Trail. Just down Park Street is the Holston Mountain artisans and beyond that is the Wolf Hills Brewery. Also, Sunday brunch at Heartwood is not to be missed. I have been visiting abingdon, Va for almost 10 years and I have never stayed anywhere that offers the ammenities, location, and such a wonderful host. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone needing lodging in abingdon.
