“Lovely”

Reviewed 29 May 2015

My husband and I stayed here for a recent visit on a trip to New England. We chose this Falls Village cottage and it was truly wonderful. Everything from the location, right up against the Housatonic river, to the beautiful care that has so clearly gone into this cottage, we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The pictures we saw before we arrived gave us a good idea about the cottage but they just can't do it justice as once you arrive you begin to see everything about this special place that makes it so unique.

“Relaxation Overload”

Reviewed 15 Feb 2015

Went with the girlfriend for a weekend getaway and chose the perfect place. Extremely relaxing and soothing trip. Everything you need is there, french press? Yep. Towels? Yep. Amazing art? Yep! This place is incredibly decorated and if you forgot anything there is a 99% chance there is an extra in the house. When we arrived everything was set up perfectly and the fire place even had a "Light Here" sign. I highly recommend this place and Danielle was amazing to work with. Every question was answered and she was very polite. This is a need to visit place!

“Perfect getaway location with all the amenities”

Reviewed 18 Jan 2015

Perfect getaway location with all the amenities – including a fireplace for a perfect winter stay. The cottage was clean and inviting, and the character of the furnishings and layout were incredible. Whether you want to stay in or venture out to nearby stores and restaurants, the cottage really is a perfect location for a vacation escape.

“This cottage is a wonderful combination of artistic charm and relaxing comfort”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2014

My sister and I stayed in the cottage for two nights this summer. It was a totally awesome experience. We were visiting the area where we had spent many wonderful summers years ago. The cottage was immaculate and the every inch shows the craftsmanship and artistic esthetic of the owners. It was very clear that the house has been lovingly restored by a master craftsman. In addition, the house is so cleverly decorated you never tire of exploring all it's nooks and crannies. While my sister visited with a friend, I hiked to Lion's Head on the nearby Appalachian Trail for fantastic views of the Housatonic Valley. There is so much to do in this area and there are wonderful restaurants and coffee houses close by. This is a great place for a weekend get away or a week long stay. Our favorite spot was the large deck where we enjoyed the beautiful landscaping and relaxing views of the Housatonic river. This place is a treasure. I've stayed in many fine Inns and Hotels over the years, but none compare with the ambience of this charming cottage.

“Cozy,Clean,Relaxing,Hard to Leave!”

I stayed at the cottage with my husband this past weekend and was truly amazed with the attention to detail. First of all, the cottage itself is so unique and charming you will have so much fun exploring all the nooks and crannies when you first walk in. The house has so much character. We enjoyed taking lots of pictures. All necessities are provided. You don't have to worry about bringing towels or soap or anything. Mario and Danielle have thought of everything. The queen bed is so comfortable and the linens and pillows and quilt is of excellent quality. The bathroom was a favorite of mine. I loved the marble flooring and the view from the tub. We enjoyed several hours by the fireplace, which was our favorite spot. Overall, the peace and quiet was unmatched with the exceptional cleanliness! I can't say enough about this place. I will be returning for a much needed rejuvenating weekend in the future months.

“Best decision - "Gem" is still short of a description”

Reviewed 29 Dec 2013

Originally we were not looking at this particular area, but after realizing the wanted days were not available elsewhere, we stumbled into this cottage. Plain and simple: the best thing that could happen to us. A magnificent way to celebrate our 19th anniversary. The cottage is a beautiful and charming place, clean and spacious. Kitchen fully equipped, bathroom has whirlpool bathtub incorporated, so no need to step outside in a cold winter days to relax and enjoy the steamy waters. The best of all was the fireplace... Did I mention it was lit up upon our arrival? The warm, cozy fire, pair with a great wine, cheese and crackers from the local stores, made our experience unforgettable. The area offers a variety of small restaurants, exquisite cousin. A hamlet type of environment that you can only imaging in a vintage movie. If you decide to cook your own meals, there are local supermarkets where you can get fresh products. It is a win win no matter what preference you have. Last but not least: Danielle & Mario. You can't find better hosts than them. Really attentive, they made sure all your needs and expectations are met. We are definitely coming back. We are spreading the word about this gem in the Falls Village, CT area.

“Unparalleled Excellence”

Reviewed 20 Oct 2013

I can't say enough great things about my stay at The Cottage. Everything we could of hoped for we found at this charming get away. The owners not only provide all that you need, they went the extra mile to really make this escape, special. From the beautifully decorated, cozy atmosphere to the amazing artistic touches to the cottage. The kitchen is well stocked, the fireplace ready to be lit, the lighting soft and the location tucked away off a dead end road. The linens are soft, quality products in the bathroom and a huge jacuzzi tub. (Which we didn't even end up using) We enjoyed our stay so much, I just know this gem will be well discovered shortly. Should you be lucky enough to get a weekend free - take my word for it, you won't be exploring the area as much as relaxing on the deck - overlooking the river and reveling in the silence. Thank you Danille and Mario. I know we will be back!!!

“Perefect!”

I was looking for a quiet place with gorgeous views to relax and get recharged; found it here! My roommate was looking for a place to explore nature and do some hiking; found it here! We were both looking to explore an area with fun shops, great food and friendly people; found it here! The artistry throughout the house is amazing. Better then a 5 star hotel. I will definitely be returning. Thank you Mario and Danielle for sharing your home.

We stayed there recently on advice from a friend and were we ever blown away by this place. Absolutely beautiful, meticolously clean and comfortable, superbly appointed throughout. Reservations were abreeze with Danielle, and Mario charmingly showed us around when we arrived. We would recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet get away not far from local shops and restuarants. We;re already planning a return trip solely based on our recent stay!
