“Everything we had hoped for”
We stayed at Sur La Mer for our honeymoon. The villa itself is beautiful and right on the water but we would recommend taking a taxi to the villa as navigating the island can be an adventure. We would also recommend renting a jeep as the roads do get a bit bumpy. The villa is situated close to Rodney Bay which has numerous excellent restaurants and a large grocery store. We highly recommend snorkelling at Smugglers Cove if you get the chance. The villa itself is in good condition and it has everything you need for your stay. Ena is a great resource for things to do on the island.
Response from the owner We are so pleased that you had the honeymoon you wanted. We hope that you have a wonderful life together. And, thank you so much for choosing Sur La Mer as a destination for your honeymoon. It really is a special place on a special island. All the best, John and Dorothy De Young
“A perfect location and a beautiful Villa!”
We just got back from a magnificent 10 day stay at Sur La Mer. Location is unbeatable: Close to Gros Islet,Catries and some of the best beaches in St. Lucia. The home is spacious and well furnished. Spent all of our time while there on the patio overlooking the magnificent Caribean Sea. Luenda was gracious and charming. The pool and grill were well used by us during the stay. You can easily walk to the beaches at Calabash Cove,Eastwinds and Windjammer. We preferred the beach at Calabsh. Do stop in there for drinks and enjoy the view. That resort is gorgeous! Had a wonderful dinner at The Cliff at Cap Estate and as always enjoyed the best beach days with our Lucia freinds at Smugglers beach. Do have the onsite massage she is just wonderful and you truly get the 1 hour workout! We toured the island via boat - call Typhoon tours. Did Soufriere the Waterfalls and Sulpur Springs and even a sunset happy hour at Ladeera. Amazing overlooking the Pitons but you have to spend minimum $25 Per pesron...well worth it. We love Saint Lucia and it's people! I think this was our 8th trip here and we will definitely be back to Sur La Mer!
Response from the owner We are so pleased that your family and you had such a wonderful stay at Sur La Mer. It is a little piece of paradise on a beautiful island. You were great guests. Should you return to Saint Lucia, we hope that you will once again consider Sur La Mer as a destination for your holiday. All the best in the coming year! John and Dorothy De Young
Hi John, Just a note to say thank you. We had a wonderful vacation at Sur La Mer, and we loved discovering St.Lucia. A real little treasure! Pool and beach most days. Lounging on the deck. I walked and snorkelled every day all the way to WindJammer (What a setup). A few treks around St.Lucia...Including: *Castries, a couple of times. *A drive down to Rabot/Boucan Cocao Plantation. *A stop in at Sulphur Springs. There's a new GL Food Mart, a step above the Super J in Rodney Village. I understand Super J just bought them out. I hope they keep the format and the food quality/Variety. It gives shoppers a little more choice. Rituals coffee house, became one of our daily "rituals" Your team at Sur La Mer: Ena, Luenda, Vernita and Glen as well as a few others we met briefly were always of assistance when needed. Best regards to Dorothy Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

“Summer Vacation at Sur La Mer”
We just came back from a week at Sur La Mer Villa in St. Lucia. The pictures don't do the view justice. The view from the infinity pool and deck were unbelievable. The property was very clean and well maintained. It really felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, with the birds chirping in the nearby trees and the crickets at night. Rodney Bay is nearby, so grocery shopping is easily accessible, as well as terrific restaurants. We did a lot of driving around the island and found some spectacular beaches. One of the nicest beaches for snorkeling nearby was Smugglers Cove, which is located at the Cap Maison Hotel. Around 15 minutes drive from the villa. At the south end of the island, just before coming into the town of Soufriere, there is a resort called anse Chastanet (not great signage, so you may have to ask someone where it is and road is really not great, so be careful), but it was totally worth it, when you get there the beach is beautiful and the snorkeling is fantastic. Thanks for a terrific vacation, hope to make it back to St. Lucia and Sur la Mer again one day. Response from the owner Dorothy and I are so pleased that you enjoyed our little piece of paradise and the wonderful island of Saint Lucia. It is always nice to hear that our team and we are doing our job. We hope to have you back at Sur La Mer in the future. All the best to you! John and Dorothy De Young
“Nice location on the Island”
The communication before and during the stay was amazing. Owner and care taker are really friendly. The place looks ok. The view is nice but the house is pretty basic. No luxury but not too ugly too. It's not a place to go to the beach. I really suggest renting a car to go on close by beaches and amazing restaurant in Gros Islet harbour. The taxi driver is friendly but quite expensive. Check the price before calling him. The house is worth the stay. In good condition. I would recommand.
Response from the owner Nic, Thank you for the feedback! I am pleased that you had a good stay and that you found all the folks, who assist me, friendly. They are a real nice group of people, and I truly value their assistance and work ethic. I don't advertise Sur La Mer as a beach villa, I do understand that the beach is important to guests, so our gardener does maintain a path to the beautiful Windjammer Landing and East Winds beach. Just a short walk up the road from Sur La Mer is the beach at the Calabash Cove Resort, which is also a very nice beach. I am pleased that you found the house comfortable. As you have said, Sur La Mer is a nicely maintain home, which is a good value for a reasonable price. Yes, the taxi driver is very friendly and quite knowledgeable about the island. Compared to US and Canada taxi prices are high, but this is reflective of the higher price of gasoline and vehicles on the island. Gasoline is at least 30% higher than in the US, and price of vehicles is at least twice the cost, You were great guests. When you return to Saint Lucia, we hope you will consider Sur La Mer again as a destination for your holiday. Kind Regards, John
